It was much easier for the man to gently guide the stunned civilians put of the way while the more competent lightchasers were dealing with the ame. He didn't engage directly in battle seeing as he was better at dealing with the after effects, softly nudging peoples brains to forget an event or make it seem different to the truth. After all, Carnelian was as mysterious as the minds he loved to explore each night. He watched dreams like his own personal movies, getting to know things about people he knew and how they worked. His fellow lightchasers had unwillingly been part of that, but he wasn't planning on telling them. All Carnelian wanted was information . To hold it to himself like something truly dear. For it was. Information, literature, dreams were all he could rely on in this life. Even if he wanted to trust his coworkers, to trust Astra, there will always be a time of betrayal. Just like his father betrayed him. Carnelian knew the imperial army would arrive any minute. And god knows Carnelian does not want to have another run in with them. Not today, not ever again. As they reached chinatown he had to stop for a moment to actually breathe. Although he hasn't breathed some nice, clear air since his father threw him out. Oh how he missed a nice, warm king bed with satin sheets and someone waiting on his beck and call. And the wine. Oh how Carnelian missed his dessert wines and how they invoked the feeling of the smooth liquid in his mouth, drowning his taste buds in the fruity, sweet taste and the buzzing in his veins of the alcohol coursing through his bloodstream. Carnelian had never really been a whiskey man, like most of the upper class, always preferring sweetness over sharpness He did, unfortunately get thrown back into this depressing reality, when he was (very annoyingly) pulled back by his darling Ame. How rude of hxr! He had just seen the most darling cafe too! Maybe he'll drag her there later if it's still standing. "That was rather aggressive, my dear." He flashed hxr a grin either way, he loved how feisty she was, like a little kitten. Adorable. Although as soon as he caught the scent of the market, a mix of oversweetness and decay attacking his senses, he wrinkled his nose and made a rather disgusted face. How distasteful.. He followed behind his Ame, making soft 'ick' sounds every now and again. He really never could keep his mouth shut. As they entered ANOTHER alleyway, he had to lean against the wall to catch his breath. The urge to have a gander at the markets wares nearly consumed him, but for once, he decided maybe the code 9 was a little more important. His gaze followed Astra's to the circus performers and scoffed. "And you told me to focus." He said it rather quietly, more of a whisper under his breath. Although his eyebrows raise as his hand was grabbed roughly. Aww, such a small and delicate hand. He was rather proud of his height and size after all. It was rather impressive after all. You don't come across someone his size very often, not many people stood at 6'5 like he did. He was mesmerised by her transformation. Carnelian had a keen eye for anything he could perceive as beautiful, and this was the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He couldn't bring himself to look away from the sight, like he was bewitched by it. The downside was that it hurt his eyes to look at, he had to squint and shield them, even with his sunglasses on. He had to lean on the wall until he could see again, setting them back a few minutes while his vision returned. That was when he could pick up his Ame. He had always known his cruel violin instructors teachings would come in handy one day, although albeit not exactly like this. Saying that, using a violin in battle was much more entertaining than playing the same notes over again to make a slightly different symphony. [Read more] |

Down in a barely lit alleyway, he was just leant against the grubby wall (he'd have to wash his shirt later. Ew), he was watching Astra stare at the paper for the past however long it's been. It felt like an AGE. He had just been stood there counting the bricks on the wall, wishing he'd brought one of his novels, when Astra had dragged him here (more like he followed her there. He's not leaving her by herself in this place.) "Kid, are you even reading that?" He chuckled, running his hand through his soft, pale hair. The air was muggy but it was quiet. Rather unusually so. Although Carnelian Etoile was not a man to question things unless he had to. Uses too much energy y'know? Carnelian pushed himself off the wall, deciding to take a look at what his partner was reading. He peered over, slouching a bit to reach hxr level. He had to squint to see it properly. It was too dark to properly see out of his sunglasses. Taking a minute to process what she was reading, he threw his head back to laugh loudly. Her taste in novels surprised him each time, like he wasn't there when she got it. "You like that stuff, Astra?" Before he could continue teasing hxr, he heard the shrill call of a code 9. He sighed. When he said he wanted something to do, he was thinking more about having a glass of wine with a nice book, not a code 9. Code 9's meant work and Carnelian was not a man who enjoyed work. It was almost as annoying as when he has to explain to people that Astra was not his wife. Can't a man have a female friend these days?   [Mika] In all honesty, I started with making fandom OC Instagram accounts for my favourite fandoms, which got me added into roleplay group chats and it all started from there. I did a little roleplay in discord but i fully got back into it a few weeks ago on ph! I'm definitely not amazing but just being in roleplays with experienced people makes me more dedicated to being better and finally being able to call myself semi-lit lol. Hibiscus in bloom was the first roleplay I've been really dedicated to, and I'm really excited for some new ones im in to start :D [Sodo] When I was way younger, I used to be on pokeheroes with my friends on her account. She showed me all the roleplays she was in, and sometimes we’d come up with responses together. When I moved away, I didn’t get to roleplay much, so I stuck to writing. I joined Pokeheroes a couple years later and decided “Oh, hey, they’ve still got the roleplay forum? Might as well.” [April] I was bored /hj. The first time I roleplayed was when Wattpad still had their inbox function.. back then I didn't even know it was called roleplaying lol But I have to admit, I only started consistently roleplaying when I entered the PH Roleplay community a couple years ago! Just like everyone else, I kinda sucked back then but thanks to uh some specific people whom I won't name-drop, I quickly got whipped into shape ;; [Sodo] I’m not against it. I’d eat it if there was nothing left, but I wouldn’t eat it as a favorite. Also, ham on pizza is crazy. [Mika] I don't care if its controversial or something but i love hawaiian pizza lol [April] I…. Don't mind it? But I don't particularly enjoy lol More Ham > Pineapple [Sodo] I invoke the fifth. [Sodo] An ungodly amount of studying art. I started out watching art videos on youtube (channels like and drawingwiffwaffles) and tried to replicate them. I only started drawing “seriously” in 5th grade, were I genuinely focused on improvement? Then by 6th grade, I started watching animes and reading manga, and that really got me inspired. Animes like Pokemon, Demon Slayer, and Beyblade all got me inspired into making more art. By 7th grade, I started copying artists online and doing master studies (mainly of Renoir, pyanyasha, and other notable artists both modern and renaissance era) and I started doing digital art at this time :) I also practiced a lot, too, so that’s probably how I learned the most :3 [Mika] From references (and April's chibi tutorial!) I'm by no means good but i have gotten better with practice :D Saying that, tutorials are also helpful and have definitely helped me define my art style. I spend a lot of time doodling because I'm too much of a perfectionist for big projects but one day I'm gonna lock in and retry anatomy. I'm mainly sticking to traditional art and leaning away from humanoid characters until I have the ambition to get good lol. COUGH COMMISSION ME COUGH [April] From Tutorials <- I'm lying. Low-key I don't have the attention span for tutorials 😭 But the only thing I will confidently say is PRACTICE. Doodle, draw with a pen, just draw something every day; whether that may be random characters, headshots, animals, shape, eyes or flowers, just draw something. Consistently doodle and step by step you'll get good lol (oh and ik y'all hate it, but practice on things you hate e.g anatomy, that's how you get GOOD good) OH AND DON'T EXPECT PERFECTION !! <- that's big, rlly big. [Sodo] Favorite song is probably Kiss the Go-Goat by Ghost and Value by Ado. For novel, I’m currently obsessed with 1984 by George Orwell. The plot and writing is so nice right now. For character…I’d say [Mika] Thats a tough question 😭 I wouldn't say I've got complete favourites for anything but as of right now I'd say my favourite song is "Two" - bbno$. My favourite novel right now would probably be Disabled Tyrants Beloved Pet Fish because im a massive sap and they give me the fluff i need in between talking to my rat spouses about gut wrenching angst 💔. Or They Both Die At The End because i also love to make myself cry with doomed romance </3 My favourite oc is obviously Aster, he has way too many storylines to not be, i love using him! My favourite fandom characters are either Shen Yuan/Qingqiu from Scum Villains Self Saving System, Chuuya Nakahara from Bungou Stray Dogs, Shi Qingxuan from Heaven Officials Blessing(TGCF) THE LIST GOES ON!! [April] That's a whole lotta questions man… Song: currently is “Merry Christmas Please Don't Call - Bleachers” sucker punches me to the balls every time 😞 Novel: Lord of the Mysteries by Cuttlefish that Loves Diving, it's a top chart Chinese novel! It's super fun and if you enjoy cthulhu, supernatural, Victorian setting plus great world building and characters give it a read! It also has a donghua (chinese anime) that's out rn so give that a watch too it's really good!! (Only downside is that the novel is 1340 chaps long lol) Character: are we talking OC or character character? 💀 OC would be Ayran (my son my life the most beautiful character to ever exist, all old gens know him) and character uh SUNDAY FROM HONKAK STAR RAIL MY GOAT, MY HUSBAND 🗣️🗣️ [Sodo] This is such a profound, detailed question. I genuinely can’t begin to answer it as it’s so deep. This inspired me to rethink my life. She didn't want to get involved with whatever Sorion, Aegir and Angelo had going on, although she did walk in between them to look closer at the vulpix. Now it was knocked out it was so much more peaceful. She ran her fingers through it's fur. It was soft but unusually warm for an ice type. "We have to assume there must be a ninetails nearby. There's no way this little thing got all the way here alone. And it feels way warmer than vulpix usually do." She placed a hand on her hip. She wasn't the best healer ever but she knew the basics.  "Mieux vaut être seul que mal accompagné" [Name] Carnelian Étoile [Age] 27 [Gender/Sexuality] Male / Bisexual [Personality] ENTP-A | Egotistical | Prideful | Laid-Back Carnelian acts like he hasn't got a care in the world, often struggling to put others before himself. After his ideals evolved, he tried to become more empathetic, but he doesn't really understand others emotions. He doesn't take situations very seriously, cracking bad jokes to cut the tension. He tries to look after people he knows, despite not always understanding why they act/feel like that.  [Description] Carnelian has light blonde, shoulder length straight hair that he usually likes to keep tied up. His eyes are a silver colour but are usually hidden behind his sunglasses. He likes to wear dark colours, like wine reds, blacks and purples. He has a nice build, not too broad but defined muscle-wise. He doesn't slouch but he doesn't stand straight either. He permanently looks relaxed and unbothered seeing as he usually is. People are usually drawn to him, but after learning his character it usually drives people away. [Reference Image]  [Role] Viè [Affiliation] Lightchaser [Backstory] Born to a noble family like many Viè's, Carnelian wanted for nothing. He was taught from an early age that he was superior than others and so, acted like it. He naturally looked down on others, especially people with less money than him, finding it distasteful. His life was easy and he did what he wanted. His father was influential but distant, so Carnelian spent his childhood trying to prove himself to him. His mother was apathetic and he learnt from her, creating habits he struggles to drop now. When he was a young adult, his father finally became sick of him. His younger sibling had just presented as a vie, so he had no need for his eldest. Carnelian's attitude was atrocious, and he finally got sick of his son bothering him and his staff. Carnelian was disowned, and left to die on the streets. To begin with, he was his usual self ─ rude and entitled ─ but eventually his new lifestyle changed him for the better. He began to help others, although he didn't want people knowing he was helping, his pride wouldn't allow it, and he spent time with the odd Ame that he previously would have thought below him. He gained more compassion and his ideals began to drift away from what he'd believed all his life. That made his decision to become a Lightchaser. [Powers] Dream Manipulation : The ability to mess with dreams to instill an idea in someones head. EG: making a dream feel like a memory by adding in things that have happened in order to make the rest of the dream believable. - Weakness: He has light-sensitive eyes, meaning he can't see properly with too much sunlight. This means he can be much less evasive. Being exposed to too much sunlight can temporarily or even permanently blind him. [Other] He enjoys a glass of red wine in the evenings, and he is known to indulge on his wants rather than focusing on others needs.
