Name: Ariel

Gender: Male

Appearance: Ariel stands at a fairly average height of 5’8, with tan skin and a lanky build. He has blue eyes, and wears his wavy light brown hair in a small ponytail. He typically dresses semi-formally in a white dress shirt and black slacks with sandals, and always wears a yellow scarf. He also carries a small satchel with various first aid supplies.

Personality: Ariel is a free spirit who appears carefree, but is actually quite ambitious and defiant. He is reckless and can act selfishly at times if he gets caught up in his own head, and he seizes any opportunity he can. He has a rather cheerful outlook and is charismatic, and he can be overdramatic but means well.

Associated flower: Dandelion

Powers:
-Aerokinesis: He can generate gusts of wind, reaching the strength of a windstorm in a small area, but his power gets weaker the further the range is.
-Mass reduction: He can temporarily make both himself and objects that he touches lighter, which he often uses to imbalance his foes. Making a single adult human light enough to be blown away in moderate wind is about the upper end of his power, though it’s possible it could be increased with training.
-The combination of these two powers allow him to not truly fly, but float, much like a dandelion seed in the wind.

Weapons: He is most skilled with a crossbow, and though he isn’t the most proficient in close combat he carries a pair of daggers for backup.

Backstory: Ariel was born into a family of herbalists that ran an apothecary/pharmacy on the outskirts of Bouquet. They were often thought of as old-fashioned and reclusive hermits but their knowledge in herbal medicine was not to be denied. Ariel learned a lot about caring for plants and medicine from a young age. He had a relatively stable family life; however, his parents were quite rigid, traditional, and protective of him.

Ariel knew from a young age that he liked men, and almost just as soon, he knew that there was no way that his parents would approve. He tried his best to focus on his job, avoiding interacting with customers and his parents alike, and preferred to tend to the garden. He always remembered picking dandelion flowers. They were mostly considered weeds, but he tended to one small patch of dandelions amongst the herbs as a small act of rebellion against his parents. However, being cooped up in the apothecary and keeping his secret was wearing on him. The last straw was when he witnessed his parents refusing to serve a lesbian couple. As it escalated into a shouting match, he slipped away into his room, feeling more trapped than he had ever felt. But as he was looking out the window, he saw some dandelion seeds floating in the wind.

On a whim, Ariel climbed out through the window and up to the roof of his house, and miraculously, there was a single dandelion head growing in the gutter, probably after a seed from his patch had floated up there. As soon as he picked it, he heard a voice in his mind. A white cat climbed onto the roof and began speaking to him telepathically, telling him about the flower girls. A pin shaped like a dandelion flower fastened itself to his scarf, and he suddenly summoned a gust of wind, causing all the dandelion seeds to scatter as he made his wish. He wanted to be free.

Ariel followed the seeds, floating away towards the heart of the city, and the wind took him to find a new purpose as a flower girl.
