Raven stepped away from him, pulling his backpack out of the tree's shadows and slinging over his shoulders. He wiped his blades with a handkerchief and stuffed them away, looking at the hybrid with the same violent eyes as before. He huffed and readjusted his beanie, retreating to Adriane's side. His tail and forearm morphed back into their human form swiftly, just enough to only see a flash of muscle during the transformation.

"I'll work through it, then. Expect this to go well over an hour," Rain said, faintly smiling and brushing her hair over her shoulder. He pulled closer and continued to work, still biting his lip in focus.

Rain pulled back, rubbing his hands together and smiling faintly. "It's an even slower process if you don't keep still," he said in a non-threatening tone, resting his fingertips on her shoulder blade and away from the wound.

If he had been in a calmer mood, Raven would've taunted the dragon and made a statement on his persistence, but he was far too infuriated and fell into a silence that was just as intimidating. Years of training let him know almost immediately that he was faster than his opponent and Raven quickly drew the conclusion that it would be a brisk fight, especially since he had the hybrid in a shaded area.
The only obstacle was keeping him alive. He threw his backpack to the side and it sunk into the shade. Raven had grabbed his daggers in the time that the backpack was in the air and held them loosely at his sides, eyeing his opponent up and down.
Who fights for someone they treat like crap? he thought spitefully as he raised his blade and feinted right, transporting to the tree behind the fire dragon and hurling a blade at his ear. He yanked on the chain that was attached to the handle and pulled it away as it sliced, jumping into the shade of the ground and digging the blade into the fire dragon's tendon before he could even turn.
He changed his grip on the blade in his right hand--it was his poisoned one--and took a minute to think as he teleported to the branches of a tree. He figured that it would be better in the long run and that Adriane probably wouldn't mind if he mildly poisoned one of her clients. Raven swiftly switched into his hybrid form and transported to a lower branch, wrapping his spiked tail around the hybrid's neck and holding the poisoned blade against his cheekbone so that even the slightest movement would cut.

"Dealing with an infected wound is ten times worse," Rain replied, inspecting the wound carefully. He bit his lip as he placed a light fingertip right next to the entry hole, thankful that the bullet had only gone so far. "You'll be able to feel this. It won't hurt, but it feels a bit strange," he informed, murmuring an ancient incantation and mending the broken skin.

Raven's flesh bubbled with anger as he apparated to the tree above Adriane. He leaped down and grabbed the hybrid by the wrist, flipping him over and slamming him onto the ground. He was taller than the hybrid and used this as an advantage; Raven picked him up by the neck like he had done to Adriane and bared his sharpened, gritted teeth. His claws dug into the soft flesh of the hybrid, but not quite hard enough to draw blood.
"You'd force the hand of such a kindly young nature dragon?" Raven growled, his crimson pupils flitting. "Much less one that's half your age? Even the Death dragons treat their mates with devoted care!" He huffed angrily and threw the hybrid to the side, sending him flying into the nearest tree. He wasn't going to kill him--not in front of Adriane. He walked back up to the hybrid and pressed his forearm against his chest, pinning him against the tree. "I do think the extra five hundred is a solid deal."

Rain pursed his lips. "I probably should have given you a stronger painkiller... although the side effects get worth with the strength," he mumbled, more to himself. He retracted his fingers and sighed, rolling his wrist a bit. "Yeah, yeah. I can... heal that. It won't hurt, but it'll feel like a really like sunburn for a couple of days... Although I do need to see it."

Jasper waved at Justin--although it was more of a flick than a wave--and leaned against the doorframe. "You coming?" He said to Belle, who shrugged him off. "Still eating."

"Might've been Crysia. She could probably out drink all of us if she wanted to," Rain replied, noticing Scarlet's motion in the corner of his eye. "Did Lucifer tend to the actual wound?" He queried, realizing that he had assumed it was tended to. He inched closer and lightly put his fingertips on her shoulder. "Do you want me to...?"

Raven's eyes locked on Adriane briskly before he swiftly leaped off into another direction and melted into the shadows. It was midday and Raven was easily able to perch in the shade of an oak tree, sitting on his haunches from a safe distance. Close enough to see any twitches, too far to be seen for everyone except Adriane (but only because she knew where he was). He narrowed his eyes and flipped his forearm over. The skin of his arm morphed into the razor-sharp ebony scales that he was terribly familiar with, and he stretched out his claws a bit. They were gnarled and shimmered against the light. Raven looked back to Adriane and thought about the absurdity of the situation as he waited for her client.

Belle watched him go, sighing in exasperation. The wind gave a high-pitched howl and the back door rattled, to which Dawn and Belle both perked up and looked towards the door. "Hey, Jasper," Belle said monotonously as he entered the house.

Raven only nodded, mildly alerted by her use of 'paranoid'. The word alone brought him tension. He inhaled sharply--not quite loud enough for Adriane to hear--and kept on walking, waiting for them to reach the meeting point so that he could hide in the shadows.

"I could get it for you," Raven offered, looking ahead with his face still. His sneakers scuffed against the hard ground as he walked, looking around thoughtfully.

Belle sat down with a plate of scrambled eggs, her eyes flickering to the acoustic guitar beside the fireplace. Dawn caught her gaze and looked over at it, the faint traces of a smile on her lips. "It was my father's. I put it out last week," she said, turning back over to her food.
"How old is it?" Belle asked, turning away from it so that she didn't stare.
"It's an heirloom. I'm not sure if they even mentioned exactly how old it is, but..." Dawn shrugged. "Not like I could ask," she added, although that was more of a mumble.

"Okay," Raven replied, his suspicion relieved slightly. Raven still knew that if that were the case he wouldn't be there with Adriane, so he kept his guard up anyway. "Where's the meeting point?"

Reign walked back to the others and solemnly sat next to Crysia. His ankles were purple and severely bruised under his pant legs, but he didn't want to worry his brother. It didn't seem like more than just a mere bruise, anyways. "Where's Lucifer?" He asked, looking around and behind his shoulder.
Crysia only shrugged, "Don't know. Don't really care." She held Celestial tightly to her, stroking her in small circular motions. Reign furrowed his brow and looked her over. She held her emotions to herself pretty well but he had been with her long enough to read through it.
"It was bound to be problematic, anyway. With my loyalties and whatever." She closed her eyes tightly for a moment and they were in silence. She then opened them and looked over to Reign, "You know that I'd choose all of you if I could, right?"
Reign shrugged her off. "Course. Don't sweat it." He stood up and walked, slowly, over to the arrangement of alcohols and grabbed two random bottles. He tossed one to Crysia and she caught it without hesitation.

"Butterflies and colors," Fallow corrected, turning back to her food in a generally uplifted mood. "How long is that going to last, anyway?" She asked, still smiling.

"What kind of dragon is he?" Raven asked, now a bit on the edge. He wasn't sure how he'd react to meeting another Shadow Dragon and the last thing he wanted was to find out. She's nice, though. Sure that means she knows nice people? Raven thought innocently, although he knew better.

"There isn't a set price?" Raven cocked his head a bit in confusion. Is it a bartering-offer sort of thing? He wondered, walking at her pace. He had since stopped trying to walk behind her.

Mavis only shrugged at Alex's comment, since anything before her forest days were unclear. Her brain hurt whenever she tried to look back on it, anyway. Fallow only giggled softly at Maxwell, leaning over and delicately poking his ear. "I didn't know you could do that," she said, trying to fight back a smile (but with no success).
