Silver's eyes widened slightly at the offer. She still held her hair in her hands, but she had stopped fussing with it. "I mean, you can try. I think it's just naturally like this, though." She combed it, feeling the softness of it with her fingers. Her tail wavered around slowly.
------
Jinx's face lit up and Rowan turned his attention back to her. There was a small hint of confusion in his vibrant eyes, knowing that she was about to say something that would be of importance.
"Have you heard of the Bluebird's Nest? It's an apothecary right over there--I own it. It's gained a bit of popularity recently and, well... I wouldn't mind a bit of help if you're looking for a job... or a part time one. We can talk about a paycheck that fulfills your needs and Yuzuki would be allowed to stay along if you need him to." She smiled and rocked back and forth on her toes. Rowan perked up a bit, surprised that she had gotten so straight to the point.
There was a sense of challenge in his demeanor, mostly towards Jinx; they both knew that having Willow around would mean that they'd have to hide their associations with his gang. Jinx refused to look at him, pretending that she didn't see the mild anger of her brother.

"I always do get the upper hand from being underestimated. I'm sure you wouldn't want to make the same mistake." She met his gaze, her mouth upturned slightly to reveal her sharpened teeth in a devious half-grin. Her irises slit in that hostile way of hers, and she did this for a moment of silence before breaking into a genuine grin and swishing her tail. "I'm kidding. I try not to fight people. It's usually just generic stuff, anyways, during the nighttime shifts." She pulled her ponytail over her shoulder, wringing it with her hands as if that would reduce the bushiness of her hair.
------
"Oh, that's good. Have you got a job, then? I've heard that the shelter businesses are going through some hard times," Jinx said, her brother drifting off into his unattentive silence. He seemed a little bit more interested in the backgrounds than the conversation, although he was still somewhat facing their way.

(No, it's okay! Three days is nothing ^^)

Evie rubbed the back of her neck as she listened to Elliot, her back an ungraceful arch. She felt rather pathetic and unqualified, even with the task of a common morse crow. She took a quick look at the cogs and offered her struggling roommate the first solution that she could think of.
"We'll just drill the ins and outs of the crow into your brain, then. Three weeks of relentless studying's bound to get you somewhere! I've found that learning to make them over and over until you get them by muscle memory is a good start... although you might not be that way... I tend to learn all the terms and whatnot after all the actual building is strong," she said. Evie left out the fact that she hated terms and usually crammed them all a couple days before the deadline.
She knew that it was a weak method. She'd been it ever since her Basic Education days, and most of that material was long forgotten or, at the very most, vague. But it a start, and Elliot seemed... well, she seemed to need it. Not that Evie doubted her skills. After all, she must be good at something to get in the Academy in the first place. Even if Evie was a bit too afraid to ask what exactly that something was.
She perked up a bit. "For the terms, we could use flashcards. Do you work well with flashcards? I know some people don't."

Raven relaxed upon seeing that Adriane was (somewhat) alright, once again fading into silence and taking a seat on the couch. Adeline sat next to him with a content look on her face, knowing well that Raven would go back to speaking as little as possible--he didn't feel comfortable around Matthew and Crystal quite yet. Adeline was surprised at how quickly he warmed up to Adriane... Although she is the sweetest out of the bunch.
She intertwined her fingers and set them on her lap, noticing Crystal but not saying anything. She figured that Crystal was in shock--or something similar, she wouldn't know--but decided that she didn't know the other weather dragon well enough yet. Adeline still felt a bit hostile towards her. It's childish, she thought, I should just forget it. It was a somewhat justified conclusion on her part, anyway.

"Oh, no. You didn't use enough force to hurt anything," Silver reassured, leaning against the conversation. In that moment, she thought of her brutal co-workers--she would be a disappointment in the Force if they knew. To even let yourself be touched by a civilian was... laughable. To not fight back was even worse. But Silver absolutely hated using physical force to get her way, especially when it wasn't necessary. She scratched the back of her head and her milky brown eyes flitted to the ground guiltily. "I am sorry for my attitude, though."

"It's nice to meet you all," Rowan said chilly, stepping back a bit and putting his hand in his pocket. Jinx was quickly re-plaiting her hair, her eyes seeming to sparkle.
"Oh, Rowan's my brother, by the way. The resemblance is hard to notice... or at least I'm told," she added for good measure, knowing that the only thing they had in common was their fair skin and dark hair. "Where do you two live around?" Jinx then asked, silently hoping that they lived in one of the nicer parts of the underground city. They seemed like nice people and she would hate to see such young people living near one of the sketchier parts.

"Oh, and also excitement! I can feel excited now!" Raven exclaimed, his smile wide and his eyes glimmering.
Adeline laughed and nodded, pawing at her bangs. "I can see that."
His eyes widened suddenly and his face dropped. Raven turned around to look over at the cabin and his shoulders tensed up slightly. "By the black sun, I've left Adriane! Oh, she's injured... I probably should have helped her settle down a bit, shouldn't I?"
Adeline covered her mouth and suppressed a smile, nodding slightly. "If it makes you feel any better, she's got Crystal to help her. And, to be honest, you're not the best at helping people settle down."
He pressed his lips together and headed back into the cottage anyway, Adeline following closely behind him.

(It's alright ^^)
Silver was a bit taken aback by this. She hadn't expected Mango to go on the brink of tears because of this and, honestly, was a bit sorry that she had asked. She always hated when people cried around her because she never knew what to do--comfort them?--but at least it meant that Mango was honest with her. She respected him for that; people were so rarely this honest in the feline kingdom that it was shocking to her.
"I'm sorry for your loss," she said softly, her tail swaying slowly.

Rowan stuffed his hands in his pockets, walking up next to Jinx. He made sure that he scuffed his shoes against the ground, made an effort to make louder footsteps so that she wouldn't be frightened. She turned from her conversation--she was standing by a canine and a younger one--and smiled back at him, mildly surprised.
"You're out from work early," she remarked. He shrugged and turned his attention to Willow and Yuzuki, offering them a smile (although his were suave half-smirks) and offered a hand.
"I'm Rowan. Who might you two be?"

Throughout this conversation, Evie was nodding along to show that she was listening. Poor girl doesn't have any confidence, she thought wistfully, She's putting herself down far too much. I'm sure she's not actually that ba--
"Oh."
The word had escaped from Evie's mouth and she immediately put her hand over it, not wanting to offend Elliot. Dear lord, she wasn't kidding about beginner stuff, Evie thought.
She vaguely remembered hearing rumors about a couple of students that had been assigned beginner machines, but... Evie dug out a stack of her old flash cards and put them to the side. She then pulled out a few books and plopped them on her lap, using them as a surface to rest her elbows on.
"That's perfectly alright. I'm a dual student, so I think I'll be able to help you a bit more than... well, a non-mechanic. So you know all the basic terms and stuff, right?" She took the flash cards in her hand and ran her thumb across the corners.

Adeline softly exhaled, her shoulders dropping a bit now that Crystal had gone silent. She then helped Adriane over to the one recliner, quickly apologizing for making her stand there for so long in her injured state. She looked back over to the door frame where Raven still stood, to which he quickly locked his gaze with hers and flicked his hand to motion her to him. Adeline walked towards him--averting her gaze from anywhere directly near Crystal--and closed the door behind her. They strayed from the cottage a bit and she raised her eyebrow, still looking back at it.
"Adeline," he said, drawing her attention again. "Adriane removed the curse!" Raven said with the hyperactivity and energy of a Light dragonling, bouncing excitedly on his toes as he began to speak about all of the emotions that had been unlocked. She laughed and congratulated him, listening attentively to his blabbering with a small smile.

Evie had moved back to her own loft bed and was leaning against one of the posts, looking over at her as she flopped down on her bed. She nodded as Elliot spoke, a bit thrown off by the 'study' part.
If Elliot had been a weapons user, they'd both be screwed over--Evie could certainly perform well, but when it came to paper tests and terms she was useless. She had always been more interested in mechanics, anyway (as much as her father hated to agree).
"Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. I need some reviewing myself, anyway," she said as she pulled out one of the boxes beside the post. She ripped it open with her hands, rummaging through the books.
"Whatcha making?" Evie asked, knowing that was the easiest way to pinpoint Elliot's knowledge; for this one, their professor had personally assigned everyone some sort of machinery to study a create based on their skill level (the Academy worked differently and was heavily praised for this). Of course, there would also be a paper test that was the same for everyone... but the creation part of the exam was significantly more important.

Evie sorted her machinery textbooks and strategy (and usage) textbooks into two separate piles, rubbing her hands together and resting them on her knees exhaustedly.
She loved being a dual student, but the work sure wasn't easy. The academy set the mechanics' exams a week before the weaponists' exams to take those like her into consideration, but it didn't help much--a week was never enough for Evie. She desperately needed to be studying terms and strategy... But it can wait, she thought to herself, sliding the stack of books forward a bit and crossing her legs to face Elliot again.

Adeline immediately flanked Adriane so that she could easily support her but still stood in front of the doorway, in front of Raven. He stood there, his arms dangling expressionlessly at his side. "If he had done that to Adriane he wouldn't be here right now. He's clearly not guilty," she retorted, her eyes meeting Crystal's. Her eyes weren't dancing with lightning--she was too calm for that--but they were just as challenging.
He intertwined his fingers in front of his chest just to show them and looked over Adeline at Crystal.
"I'd like to add that it was her client. I'm afraid that I didn't act fast enough to save her from his first strike. Terribly sorry--I do assure you that he won't be coming back, though. Take Adriane's word, if not mine," he said in an almost soothing tone.
Adeline's eyes widened in surprise and she glanced back at him briefly, surprised that he had defended himself for once. His eyes were that of an honest man, despite their maliciously crimson color; he had seen enough calm negotiating in his days to perform it flawlessly. Adeline was almost impressed, if not for the matter at hand. She looked to Adriane for confirmation. She believed Raven, of course, but the last thing she wanted was to step out of the way too soon.

Confusion washed over Evie's face for a moment, but she quickly caught on and regathered herself. Evie immediately scolded herself for not thinking this as a possibility. She knew how lazy their secretary was... but Evie blamed herself for not taking it into account.

"I, uh..." The words were raspy and she took a moment to clear her throat before continuing. "I'm Evangeline. Evie. I guess they didn't tell you... there was a relocation. My, um, roommate got expelled... and they gave my old room to some first-years, I think. It's kinda complicated and it wasn't really explained all that well to me. Or to you, as it seems. But, uh... I guess we're roommates now?" she said, speaking a bit too quickly. Calm down. You're blabbering, she thought to herself, wondering if the thought had been influenced by Ara. She was beginning to think like her.

Her heart thumped rapidly and she begged it to slow down. Evie had seen this girl around campus a couple of times and recognized her face, but she couldn't put her finger on the girl's name. She was, honestly, a bit more scared as to how she would react. She inhaled sharply, grinding her teeth together.

"T-thank you. I'm terribly out of practice, though," he said, looking briefly down at Adriane. He turned his attention back to the forest, looking around and taking it all in. They reached the cottage, although slowly, and when they did Raven slipped behind Adriane to open the door for her and let her in first. Adeline stood by the door--Allium and Rogue weren't in the house--and melted into silence, not knowing what to say or how to convey her worry.
Raven saw the look on her face and guiltily averted his gaze, still opening the door for Adriane. Adeline only sighed, brushing her hair away from her eyes and looking at them.
"Are you alright?" She asked, so softly that it was almost inaudible. She pursed her lips hard.

Rogue walked beside Allium as they crossed the busy streets of the city. Allium stared forward, her golden gaze harsh and almost angry.
"Allium," Rogue murmured to grab her attention. She didn't look at him. He huffed and continued anyway. "You didn't go to Matthew when he stormed off... why? It's unlike you."
She shrugged, readjusting her bag. "I didn't want to bother him, in case he wanted to be alone. I can never tell when people want to be comforted or not... not like I know him well enough, anyway," she mumbled, the last part a bit more to herself than anything.
He raised an eyebrow. "You're letting Crystal get to you a bit much. She was worried about her friend, Allium, I'm sure she wasn't saying the most rational things--"
"Can we drop it, please? I'm fine I just... need a bit of time to think. I don't want to be distracted from work, anyway," she interrupted, the first sign of discomfort showing on her face. Rogue only sighed, falling into silence.

Mavis laughed and began to jog up to Viola, reaching the marketplace in merely minutes. Marshall trailed a bit behind them--he didn't like to run--but eventually made it up to them, weaving through the crowd to reach them.
"Hand me the list? I think we'd best get the... actually important stuff first," Mavis said, to which Marshall obliged and gave her the crinkled paper. She walked up to a woman selling bread and began to kindly barter, smiling innocently as she did so. Not wanting to get caught in Mavis's bartering--or any form of socializing, to be honest--Marshall meandered around the marketplace in interest.
"I don't know, ask Jasper," said a voice that was a bit too close to Marshall's ear. He whipped around to see a blue-haired girl that had a vaguely familiar face. She was rummaging through a bag and hardly noticed Marshall as she walked forward, slamming into him and squeaking in surprise. She swore under her breath and caught herself, stepping back a bit and looking up at him apologetically.
"God, I'm sorry... I didn't see you there," she said, clutching the bag close to her chest.

Crysia stood up, her drink still in hand. "We're going out into town, did you guys want to..." she looked over at Scarlet and slowly trailed off, covering her mouth apologetically. "Oh," she said softly, hoping that she hadn't spoken loud enough to wake her. Rain looked up at her and shook his head, flicking his hand to tell them to go on their own.
Crysia only looked back at Reign and shrugged. He stood, setting his bottle down and walking to the town with his hands laced behind his head. Crysia followed, her voice softened even when they were far from Scarlet and Rain.
"Why'd you want to go into town, anyway?" Reign asked, walking in the middle of the streets.
"It's quiet. We can look around without being noticed. Also, I can get my mind off things," she replied, walking near stairs that led to a garage or basement of some sort. She motioned for him to follow and he did, although reluctantly.

"It's still polite to ask," Void grumbled, shrinking back. Wither stood up briefly to grab a separate plate, which she set in front of Void.
"So we may have forgotten to mention some things," Wither began, taking a leg off of her chicken and giving the rest to Void. His ears perked up and his tail wavered a bit as he dug in, his ear swiveled to Wither to indicate that he was still listening. She gestured with her chicken leg as she spoke.
"We're the main rebel base camp, basically. There are a few others but we're not too... closely associated with them and we're the biggest one. So we're technically all fugitives, but, y'know. For a good cause. We also shelter those in need and provide for them."
Wither took a bite out of her food and swallowed before continuing. "Thing is, though, we run a very... rocky business, to put it. We trust our new recruits and refugees a bit too much--for my tastes, anyway--so we don't keep out a very keen eye for traitors. Never questioned it too much until there was one. There's only been two in our entire history, but they've found our base now and... well... I figured that a portable one would do us some good."
She then silenced and continued eating, hardly realizing that Spectrum had been listening as attentively as Void was.

Evie huffed and leaned against a stack of boxes, wiping the sweat from her forehead. Four hours should have been enough to move and unpack all of her stuff, but she wasn't even halfway done. She had, admittedly, dropped all of her work when she was supposed to unpack her endless book storage in favor of going through them again... I'm never going to finish this, Evie thought, taking a sip of her water.

She wandered over to the window on her tiptoes. There was a spark of energy in her chest as she opened them and a light breeze combed through them, the velvet curtains fluttering. Evie ignored the urge to bend the breezes in serpentine coils and instead looked over at the other side of the room. She had attempted to read into her new roommate's personality by looking at the decor, but Evie had never been too good at analyzing stuff like that.

They hadn't even told Evie their name. She had been called to Administration the moment she was let out of class and Evie was mildly annoyed by this. Even the tiniest shred of information would have been nice--a name, a gender... but no. She was quickly told that her old roommate had been expelled and that she would be relocated immediately... it was a good riddance to Evie, though. Her roommate had always been bitter to her for no particular reason.

Despite her past misfortunes, Evie was bubbling with excitement to meet whoever she was going to share the room with. She bounced back over to the cardboard boxes underneath the loft bed and began to rummage through them, thinking. All of the day classes ended about two hours ago... She shook away the idea that she would be paired up with yet another troublemaker. Maybe she has to tutor?

Raven shook his head. "No, it was kind of you! That was only because I've been under his curse since birth... It probably wouldn't have worked on an older dragon, though," he said reassuringly, not wanting to hurt her. He walked a bit more before he spoke what had been lingering in his head, although his words were spoken softly.

"I do believe that I owe you my life now. I'll... try my best to fulfill it." He looked away, almost shyly--he wasn't quite sure how to put it. "We don't... live life as fully as you guys do. Because we're emotionally suppressed. We don't feel vulnerability or excitement because He doesn't deem it important. But you've... fixed it. And I can feel those things now. I felt those things. And I do believe that's more good than harm.

"I guess you've saved my life, in a sense. I'll do my best to make it worthwhile. I can't thank you enough, Adriane," Raven continued, looking down to meet her gaze. He smiled, but it was that crooked and awkward smile of his caused from the lack of practice.
--------
Allium's golden eyes narrowed slightly, frustration surfacing to her skin. She took a moment of silence before she spoke, "That's not relevant. Could we just... drop it, please?" She was blushing faintly but took little to no notice. Rogue watched wordlessly, deciding that it would only get worse if he intervened.

"Course," he said, blushing faintly under the presence of Crysia and Reign. They had seemed to stray a bit, talking to each other and paying little attention to the two. "You tired?" He asked, looking up towards the moon and back at her with mild surprise.
