Raven flinched at the water and turned his head to spit it out, rubbing his eyes with exaggerated grumpiness. "You're overestimating my swimming skills," he pouted, brushing the water lightly so that a tame wave flicked towards her. His crimson eyes became animated again in an overwhelming mix of playfulness and excitement.

"Ah, I see." She tucked her knees neatly by her chest and rested her cheekbone on them, looking at Crystal by the side. It was a laxer position for her, but she felt more comfortable in front of Crystal. "They're nice to you and Matthew, thought, right?"

"I don't think I've been," Evie said, her interest seeping into her tone. It was at that moment that she realized she was about to have ice cream for a meal and began to briefly question her life choices before deciding that it was perfectly acceptable (even though the weather said otherwise) because she was almost an adult and she was going to make the most of it. Also because strawberry ice cream is amazing, she thought to herself, confidently stepping into the hallway.

Silver chortled, her smile lopsided. "Maybe. That stuff takes time, y'know?" She said, not quite sure how to react. She knew this, of course--Silver had done her best to ignore it--and wasn't quite sure what would happen if she were to confront it. Instead of lingering on it, Silver ruffled the girl's hair and stepped out of the orphanage. "Well, I'd best be going~" She waved at the girl and walked away.

Jack blinked sharply, a bit surprised that Crystal had said she wanted to repay him. "Oh. Alright, then." He looked up at the Skyways again, rubbing a thoughtful thumb across his chin. "We still need a way to get to the edge, though," he added, racking his brain to remember where the nearest station was.

Belle inhaled deeply before standing again, looking down at Umbra as he closed his eyes. He'll probably be out for a few hours, she thought to herself, knowing that she had injected more than normal. She barely caught onto his words--her hearing was never the best--and when she did she felt the need to apologize to Justin. Belle stole a quick glance at the door and sat back down on the bar stool, practically waiting for Umbra to fall asleep.

Evie perked up at the sound of Elliot's voice--after all, she still wasn't used to having a talkative roommate--and her surprised expression faded into a pleasant smile. "Yeah, I could eat. Have anything in mind?" She asked, now reminded that all of the leftovers from her previous dorm room had been trashed during the move. Evie didn't eat outside of campus much but she figured it'd be a nice change (and an opportunity to get to know Elliot better). She fished her wallet out of her bag and pocketed it before setting her bag to the side.

Silver was mildly distracted by the way his ear drooped when he moved--she found it adorable but didn't say anything about it--and nodded enthusiastically. Her tail was swishing again and she seemed to take no notice to his flirtatious comments. "Yeah, alright. I'll see you around, Mango," she said calmly, smiling at him before she turned around to exit the orphanage.
--------------
He shrunk away from her slightly, his ears pinned back to his head. "It's not something that really comes up in conversation," he mumbled weakly in defense, his tail lowered slightly. "Besides, it's never a good idea to get near the police forces."

In only a few minutes she had combined the two ingredients and chopped them up into grayish-green mush. Belle put it into a bowl and walked over to Umbra in long strides, knowing that the serum had long since immobilized him. "A bunch of complicated science crap," she mumbled, sitting down in a criss-cross and grabbing his arm a bit more roughly than she should've.
"Only because of Justin, yeah?" She said, just to make it clear. Belle scooped up the ointment with two fingers and contemplated telling him about the sting, eventually deciding that it couldn't be much worse than the syringe (and she was still a bit ticked off). She used it to both clean up the blood and stop the bleeding, leaving it on the wound and securing it with a bandage wrap.

Belle ran a thumb across her chin--there was faded scar on it, but it was hard to notice even from a close distance--and popped back up to her feet. She strayed into the kitchen, standing on her tiptoes in order to open one of the cabinets. "I don't think either of us is in a position to be assuming things," she replied, a lot more calmly this time. Belle fumbled with the several mason jars in the cabinet and, after a bit of thinking, took two of them and set them on the counter.

Evie had managed to squeeze in some studying before her first class, which she was moderately happy about. It wasn't, of course, enough to satisfy her--especially with all that she missed in favor of Elliot--but it was something and she knew that she could get by without it (hopefully).
She arrived to class five minutes before it started and received only a stern glance from her famously strict teacher, whose eyes she refused to meet. The woman was certainly a certified and effective teacher, but her light eyes radiated anything but kindness. She often wore her graying hair in a tight bun and Evie couldn't help but realize how much it seemed to line up with her strict personality.
She made sure to pay even more attention during the hour-long history lecture, just to be safe.
The clock seemed to slow down, and when the class was over she didn't seem to have the energy to be excited about her next class (which was named something unbearably long and complicated; even the teachers preferred to shorten it to just "Guns").
But luck was with Evie, and the rest of the day was a breeze. She could say that she had enjoyed her classes, but she was much more focused on returning to the serenity of her dorm room and almost rushed across campus to get there.

She sat on top of a bar stool, crossing her legs. "Tell that to the bruises on my neck." Belle huffed and drummed her fingernails agains the granite countertop, completely unaffected by the plethora of insults and swear words that Umbra shot at her. She seemed used to it if anything. "Let's not forget who started this little hassle, anyway."

Jinx sighed and plopped down, his tailed curled around his front paws laxly. "Okay, okay!" He mewled in defeat, pausing to look around him for story ideas. Blaze trotted up to them slowly and sat down next to Hazel, happily waiting for Jinx to start.
"There was... a cloud," he said, his eyes flitting to the sky above, "and this cloud, you see, was a very special cloud. In a sea of very white and fluffy clouds, this cloud was a sad little purple cloud."

Belle's face was stoic, but her periwinkle eyes glistened with amusement. She continued to twirl her knife, her focus now locked on his limp body. "Mmm. I could." She gestured with her blade as she spoke, "Umbra, would you heal someone that choked you? Yeah, me neither... So how about a little truce? Although I suppose that would be a given since I could permanently disable you if I wanted to. But still."

Evie was still intensely tracking Dexter, waiting for him to attack. Her opinion was clearer than ever and she now believed that she had Elliot on her side, too.
He seems civilized enough to not attack us if we were to decline his request. Either way, it would be four against one--although Ivy and Elliot might back out of a fight... God, are they even military trained? She thought, now a bit stressed. Evie really wished that she had gotten to know the group a bit better before she decided to run off with them, but she knew that she had been walking into a mistake when she met Oliver. Risks are going to be the death of me, she thought bluntly, noticing how Ivy shrunk back.
"And if we decide to back out right now?" Elli asked, still staying close to Ivy.

"Oh, um... well... there was a corrupt angel on in the base." Spectrum tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her amber eyes flitting to the ground a bit, "We tried to reverse it, but it didn't work. They're... they didn't make it." She began to mumble a bit towards the end and Kaleidoscope gave her a reassuring nudge. Spectrum's hands found their way behind her familiar's ears and she stroked them slowly, seeming to calm down a little bit.

Raven didn't seem to understand her remark. His birthplace was incredibly cold in the winters and the waters were so chilling that no dragonling was allowed to stay in them for more than an hour at a time--of course, they still made the dragonlings swim because it would "enhance their tolerance". To him, the pool was lukewarm and he wasn't too shocked by its temperatures. He seemed worried regardless and glanced over at Adriane, "But you're alright?"

Wisteria happily took the spot that Crystal had cleared off for her, sitting in a crisscross position with her back straight. "What about the fourth one?" She asked, twirling her hair a bit.

Blaze pinned her ears to her head, but it was clear that she was a bit relieved by this. "You were always rather philosophical, weren't you?" She murmured, although appreciatively. Her whiskers twitched as she looked up at the sky, the cruising ceiling of clouds seeming to soothe her; it always had. She took a moment to think about their younger days and it brought a bit of bright nostalgia. The kits prancing around the field was what brought her back to reality, but she seemed a lot more content. "I've never stopped to think about the number of our days. I think I'm going to go run around with the kits so I can avoid the truth," she stated bluntly, leaping to her paws and bounding off to catch up with Jinx.

Belle only spun the knife a bit as if it were a party trick, her eyes tracking Umbra as he fell to the floor. She had been ready for a fight, in all honesty, but was beginning to think about how large of a dose she had actually given him in her breathless panic. All it'll do is paralyze him for a few hours. I hope, she thought, knowing that Jasper would kill her if she even cut off one of his hands.
She huffed and placed her hands on her hips almost exasperatedly, still keeping her eyes on him. The darkness in his eyes was no longer there--she had taken it away with the injection, after all--but she knew that the murder was still present. Belle didn't have much hope for healing their relationship, but if Umbra continued to be like this he would become a nuisance and she'd lose a large quantity of her declining supply of serum.
"Stop trying to fight me. You're not going to get by with attacking me, especially for such a stupid reason. Let it go and we'll all be fine, yeah?" She grumbled, crossing her arms.

"Starts at ten ends at three. Now go!" Evie said, shooing Elliot away encouragingly. "I don't want you to miss your classes!" She was smiling a bit and watched the door until Elliot left, making sure that her roommate didn't linger around for too long. The teachers got insane about sixteen-plus students being late and they both knew it.
Evie paused and took a moment to stare around the room before doing anything. She contemplated going back to sleep, but she knew that she'd never wake up if she did, so she went and opened the window instead. The breezes flowed in immediately and she could almost feel Ara waking up, to which she only smiled and walked outside of their dorm to get the newspaper, a skip in her step.
She read the headline, spotted the word 'Elemental', and immediately threw it in the trashcan on the other side of the room. Evie could hardly tolerate the way that the papers spoke about Elementals, and it wasn't worth leaving it around for Elliot to see. She liked Elliot and she didn't want their friendship to be ruined by their opinions. Evie huffed and went to go gather her clothes so that she could shower instead.

Belle hissed, her teeth grinding against each other. She looked to the ceiling grabbed a hold of his wrist, squeezing tightly but not enough, it seemed, to even falter his grip--she simply wasn't strong enough for that. His strength barely trumps mine physically, she thought, running her calculations through her head like she was taught to, but an enraged Fantasy's power is no match to mine. Granted, he's not as strong as Jasper...
In a very swift motion, she pulled out a syringe from the inside of her coat and sunk it into his arm. She didn't waste her time injecting it and recklessly yanked it out after all of the fluid was gone. With the last of her strength, Belle grabbed his arm and hoisted herself up, snaking her legs around his neck and breaking loose of his grip. She didn't squeeze--she simply used his as a platform to leap off of, standing by the counter and catching her breath.

But he's not nearly as fast and the serum goes into effect immediately. Without Darkness, we're a rough tie... plus the added side effect of drowsiness that comes with the muting serum. She considered the possibility of Jasper and Belle coming back to break the fight, but she didn't quite trust Jasper enough to take initiative. He wouldn't have taken her in if he knew he'd have to protect her, but she knew that she and Justin--Umbra--were equal in terms of worth to him.
"I only said half of that stuff because I clearly don't want to wreck his life. I don't see how being with him would do more harm than good," she hissed, pulling out a knife--the knife she had stolen from Mavis, she realized, had quickly become a favorite--and holding it firmly.
"... But clearly, we don't agree." She huffed, but her heart rate had stopped increasing by the minute. "I don't believe we should continue this fight, though," she grumbled, still focused on him in case he attacked.
