Lucian Arbred's POV...well... it wasn't like Kubo could see anyway. With these helmets. "I'm fine. Won't be though, if we keep at this 'sitting duck' shtick. You've said it yourself- I'm the Ultimate Detective, constantly looking for 'the truth'. They'll want me first- if we want to live, then we have to get moving, and do it quickly." Lucian nodded. "...r-right. Okay. You know, I..." His voice faltered. "...besides your talent, I really don't see why anyone would want you dead, Kubo." ...they say love is blind. Am I blinded by the way I see you, Kubo Atsushi? You... who I think is so wonderful. He saw flowers in his hair. He saw stars in his eyes. He heard the voice of an angel whenever he spoke. He admired him. He trusted him. ...he... loved him. Lucian couldn't help but wonder if he wore rose-colored glasses as he looked at him. Am I blind? Is he really... how I see him? He couldn't afford to see someone like this. ...but... There was just something about him. "Got it? You say you want me alive. Prove it, and let's get going." Lucian's eyes widened, and he hurried after Kubo. "...Kubo. Of course I do. Of course I want you alive," he whispered. What he whispered next, even quieter, was too quiet for Kubo to hear, a silent rustle of wind underneath his breath. "...because I love you." [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVLucian nodded. "...right. We- can do that. Good idea." He thought, as Kubo turned away from him, that he heard something change in his voice. Had he imagined it...? "Let's go. We can scout out food and shit. Hopefully, there's a saferoom to eat in." "...Kubo..." Lucian bit his lip. He slowly put his hand overtop of Kubo's. "...are you okay? Is something bothering you? It's okay if you need help... I'm here. You don't have to say what's wrong if you don't want to. I just... I hate to see you hurting. You don't have to just be our perfect detective all the time, always chasing after his next investigation. ...you're human too. It's okay if you're hurting right now..." [Read more] |

Title: POV: Struggling to finish your post before your phone diesDarcy Harper's POVDarcy felt like he was going to vomit. She'd gotten countless people's heads... Chopped right off. She'd gotten so many people KILLED? Was this some kind of sick joke? She couldn't just be... Admitting to that, could she? "You just... Had their heads... Chopped right off?" Darcy choked out. "Do you... Seriously think you should have control who lives and dies? Are you... That arrogant?" "How could someone do such a thing? Hehe, I dunno, it's fun!" "...if you're a demon. Is- is that what you are? You're a demon... Disguised as a human. Of course, how did I not see this coming?" Darcy laughed cheerfully with a tear in his eye. "Just ask Kaoru, she did the same thing too, didn't she? Oh wait! You can't! Hehe, sheeeee decided to be a f**king idiot and play into that bear's game, and now she's dead! Thank god I'm not like her, riiiiighhhtt?" Darcy paled at the mention of Kaoru. ...Kaoru... "...she didn't do it for fun. Unlike YOU. A-And maybe..." Darcy hugged his arms tightly to his chest. "Maybe she was in the wrong! But she's not half as bad as YOU!" ...sure. She was selfish, from what Darcy had seen. She'd... Betrayed her own friend. She'd been willing... To get them all killed to preserve her life, but... She was scared, right?... ...right? She didn't deserve to die... "...maybe it would be better if you were a little more like her." "Where the hell did that come from, huh? Never said I was gonna kill ya, that would be stupid! Of course these people would find me out easy, and I'm not that stupid!" "...oh. So you just casually put blades to people's throats, a-all the time? Is that some kind of... Tradition or.... Hobby of yours?" Darcy asked sarcastically, avoiding Mei's gaze. But well, it seemed Mei wasn't stupid. Not that that mattered... "BINGO! Yooooouuuuu got it! Why would I kill you when you still have some chocolates to make, your death would make me soooo sad!" "P-Pfft.... So, what, I'm your little servant then? Who just... Fetches things for you? Well, sure thing. If that's what you want." It's not like it was anything he wasn't used to. But he felt his heart shattering to pieces right then and there. "...it's not like... Anyone would actually miss... Me for me. Rather than what I could offer," he said hollowly, not seeming to be talking to Mei anymore. "I should have gone through with it a long time ago. All you are in this life is what you can offer to entertain. It doesn't matter who you are, no one ever loves you. No one would ever miss you if you were to drop dead." And Sawyer?... They'd forget, in like, a week. Maybe less. "Ok, obviously you're not a good listener. Look, I already told you I wasn't gonna touch 'em, I'm even telling you I don't want to be near them! I'm trying to do you guys a favor, but too bad you're too stupid to see it... I'm not doing this for myself, y'know, as crazy as that sounds. Me? Not being selfish for once? Pfffftt, never, ammiright?" Darcy felt weak with relief. ...she... Wasn't going to hurt Sawyer. Was... She telling the truth? ...yeah. "Too stupid to see it," he repeated in an empty tone. "Doing us a favor, huh? Thank you, unspecified person." It seemed Darcy had transformed into a broken music record disguised as a person. Who had he been talking to?... Did he remember, or was he far too tired to? "I'm doing this for you., for them. I'll say it a million times until you finally understand, but I know how much you care." "Just do it for them," Darcy uttered in a skeletal tone. "It's never for me, and it never should be. Just let it go empty." "All I ask for is chocolates in return, gotcha? Wouldn't want my favorite little chocolate maker to be all sad and lonely on me, now would I? I heard baking tastes worse when some sappy thing about "your heart not being in it" or whatever, which is probably why I'm so bad at it..." "Sure, why not?" Darcy replied with a laugh. "Chocolates." . . . It wouldn't be that hard. "But aaannnyyyywaayyyss, you have my word that I'm not touching you, or Sawyer, got that? Even if you beg me a million times to kill you, I ain't doin' it!" Sawyer... ...great. That was what mattered. He chuckled in response. "Oh, that's fine!! Who needs someone else to kill you when you can do it yourself? Am I right?" "Heyyy... Don't do that, it'll hurt! And you wouldn't dare hurt little ol' me, now wouldja?" "I wouldn't know. I'm bad already, aren't I? I'm bad already..." "Eh, that's for me to know and you to find out, isn't it?" A curious statement that meant nothing and everything. Tick-tock. Tick. Tick. ...but what she said next pulled Darcy out of his shattered, empty state. "Heh, suuuuree, keep tellin' yourself that, maybe God will actually start to believe you." Darcy quivered. "NO! I'M- I'm- I'm not a bad person! I'm not!" he choked out. "I'm not..." No. No. NO. He wasn't a bad person. He WASN'T. He couldn't be! ...he... "Hehe, yup! Fun with meeeee~ Sure is funny, right? I can't believe we're gonna do it together!" "Pffft, you really thought I was gonna do it? Ok 1, how dumb do you think I am? And 2..." "I was only playin' aroooouuunndddd! If I wanted to do that, I would've done that by now! Same with Sawyer, ya know~ I could've hurt them a loooonnngg time ago, but did I? Nahhhhh, I'm not that heartless! Besides, I have no reason to! Just think about it for once, couldja? I can't just go killing all willy nilly here like I noooorrmmally would!" Darcy paled. "I'm not going to Hell with you!" Because Hell... Was for the nobodies. Hell... Was for the worst of the worst. Hell... Was for the hated and the forgotten. Those not deemed worthy... Those not good enough... "...I don't know, how dumb do I think you are?" he asked with a grimace. "So... Weaponry to throats is your definition of playing around?..." His eyes widened. "You would have done it, if you'd wanted to? Seriously? I... I--" No. Not Sawyer. Darcy didn't care what happened to him, but not them. "So you'd do it all the time, if it weren't for rules and benefits?..." He smiled a crooked smile, his empty eyes staring right at Mei. "Otherwise... You wouldn't care?" "Or you'll do what, Darcy? Hmm? I'm waiting~" "I-- I--..." ...nothing. Nothing he could say. Nothing he could do. "...You're getting all worked up over nothing, geeeez... Need a chill pill? I've got plenty of em! And just so you know..." "I don't take orders, Darcy." "...right. N-Nothing. Nothing at all... Nothing--" Darcy stared in wide-eyed shock, and swallowed. "...no pills. No thank you." Ugh... Hospitals... "...and why doesn't that surprise me?" he murmured. If only she did... "Oh for f**ks sake Darcy, you better not be cryin' under there! Geeeeezzz... Get a grip, wouldja? I can't understand you if you're sobbin' your eyes out!" "No, of course not," Darcy replied hollowly, but his eyes seemed to be filling up with tears again. "Wh-Why would I--" ...get a grip. Right... . . . Why couldn't he be more like them?... UGH. SCREW HER! Why... Why had Darcy bothered? There was no point... [Read more] |

Darcy Harper's POV"..shut up," Darcy choked out. " 'Filthy sinner', ay? Oh hoho, Darcy, you have no goddamn clue what I've done to get my name sprawled all over Satan's naughty list, I bet he's down there waiting for me with open arms, and no amount of repenting will save me now." Satan's naughty list. She spoke of it like it was a freaking joke. Darcy gripped at the sides of his head, praying for the noise to stop. ..stop... "Do you even know who I am, Darcy? I'm more than just a purple-haired little brat who got roped into a killing game..." "I'm Mei Akamatsu, the Ultimate Gambler... I gamble with lives, Darcy, and each and every one of them had the losing bet. Each and every one of the hundreds I've played have lost their heads, lost their minds, and you know what?" Lives. Countless lives. So many people... What kind of sick, twisted, horrible person was she?! "...lives... Countless lives, huh? How... How can anyone... DO such a thing? Just... Who do you-" "I enjoyed every. goddamn. second of it, I enjoyed toying with them, I enjoyed hurting them. And honestly? My hand is itching to add another layer of paint onto itself, and I know the perfect way to do that..." Darcy paled, at first, and then he laughed. "...so... K-Kill me then. See how fast they convict you." He'd never known death to be so close... But... I didn't drown. ...I didn't suffocate. I didn't crash-land from that height. The pills weren't enough. ...you were always there to stop me. ...you were there, you would care, and I wouldn't know why. You were always there... ...and then one day, I left. And I never told you the truth. "Who'll bake you chocolates when I'm gone?" he joked, through tears. "...ahaha... I--" "They just wanted to be my friend, huh..." "You know exactly what's wrong with that, Darcy. You know that would never work, no matter how badly Sawyer wants it. If you really did care, you'd never let that happen." "If you knew who I was, you'd know how much of a mistake that would be. I'd crush them, Darcy. I'd have them wrapped around my little finger, their life in my hands, all because you thought we could be friends." ... "...YOU. Don't you dare. DON'T. YOU. DARE." She was disgusting. Some people were heartless. Some were soulless. But some... Were the devil incarnate. And Mei? She was the devil incarnate. "...do whatever you want with me. I don't care. ...just don't hurt them." "In another world, under different circumstances, things could've been different, I guess. But not this one, Darcy." "In this world, it's kill or be killed, and in this world..." "I've been cursed to bear the fangs of a viper." Darcy laughed again. "Great, then just pull those fangs out of your mouth and watch the blood run. It's not that hard to just make yourself bleed and be better, is it? Or IS IT that hard for you?" "Hehe, you're right about that one Darcy! Ding ding ding, I sure as hell do!" ... Darcy... Didn't even know what to say to that. So Mei was someone who repented after all...? He put his hands up to his face, and wept. Ugh.... God... God... Why... ...why... Why... What? Why did Dad leave? Why did we have to move? Why did I do that to her? Why did things fall apart so badly? Why didn't Will love me? Why did Sawyer get hurt so badly that they're like this now?... ...why do... I care about... ...this monster? "Awww, but that was a good one! Geez Darcy, don't be so hard on yourself! If we're both goin' to the land down under, we can have so much fun together! Hehe, I can't wait! Makes me tempted to lay a finger on your little ol' buddy Sawyer, so you can 'give me hell' like you said you would! Hehe, I juuuuuusssttt might do it, y'know! Wasn't plannin' on it, seein' how adorable they are, but you're reeeeeaaallly temptin' me!" ... "B-Both... Going to the land down under, huh?" He seemed to process the words slowly. "No... No... I-- I'M A GOOD PERSON!! I'm not... I'm not... Going there..." . . . "Fun... With you. Th-that's such a laugh, isn't it? You, who just threatened to slit my throat open. ...wh-why don't you just go on and do that, huh?..." . . . Wait. SAWYER. NOT SAWYER!! Not... "You should spend less time with Sawyer and more on your studies, Darcy. It's beginning to affect your grades." Of course, slipping to Bs even once was criminal... But... Darcy just... Wanted to spend time with them. Sometimes, he just wished... He could be free. And when they were around... It felt like he could be. But then reality would always be there to slap you in the face. ...that no one is ever spared the consequences of their actions. That no one, who has done nothing wrong, is safe from problems. Safe from their life going to utter hell. ...and Mei wanted to hurt the one thing Darcy was holding onto. The one thing he cared most about. And that... was unforgivable. "...don't you dare touch them. DON'T. YOU DARE. TOUCH THEM!" Darcy stood up suddenly, and he grabbed Mei's shoulders. ...adorable. Sawyer. ... "DON'T YOU DARE GET ANYWHERE NEAR THEM!! IF YOU HURT THEM, I-- I'LL- I'LL-" ...you'll what, Darcy? You'll do what? ...what could you do, that wouldn't make you a worse person than you already are? ...that's right. Add another sin to your tally. ...don't keep the Devil waiting. I'm sure he'll enjoy tearing you limb from limb. His grip on Mei's shoulders loosened. More and more tears collected in Darcy's helmet. "Please..." Darcy pleaded. "Do... Do whatever you want with me. Just... Don't hurt them... Please." [Read more] |

Darcy Harper's POV"...not if it seriously hurts people," Darcy growled. "You can't just- you can't just-" Darcy shook his head. "There are RULES, you know! You can't just go right up and say whatever you want to anyone... that HURTS people, Mei." But his face reddened at the tone of Mei's voice. ...what was... with that change in it? "Jesus christ Darcy you're acting like I don't know that and it's pissing me off. Look, I know you care, that's why I'm telling you, ya dumbass..." "DON'T JUST USE HIS NAME IN V-" Darcy actually paused for a moment. I-- ...he- couldn't just- expect Mei to abide by that. But... it felt wrong. He decided not to carry on the thought. "Does this make you HAPPY, Mei? Just endlessly going about, destroying people's lives, be it by your words or your actions? You've got "filthy sinner" written all over you." A dark look came upon his face. "Your constant tossing around of insults, your constant disrespect for everything anyone might hold dear, your constant disrespect of people... it disgusts me." His fingers found themselves clenching back into fists. "And the fact you think you have EVERY right to talk how you want. News flash, NOBODY has that right. We're all supposed to be better than that. To do better than that. It's not that hard to just be kind to others, but instead, you decide to walk your merry little way to Hell, don't you? You decide to leave a trail of bones and broken hearts behind you... with bloodstains and a smile streaking your face. You're TWISTED. You're SICKENING." "I'm telling you all this sappy bulls**t because I know, and I want you to keep Sawyer the hell away from me." "THEY JUST WANTED TO BE YOUR FRIEND, MEI. THEY'RE LIKE THAT WITH EVERYBODY! And what's wrong with that?!" Then... the words that she spoke next shook Darcy to his very soul. "Because you know... As soon Sawyer shows their vulnerable little throat, I'll sink my fangs in and watch as their heart shatters as the life drains from their eyes and their reality is broken. You know that as well as I do, Darcy." Tears stirred in Darcy's eyes. "Try that," he sputtered out. "Try that... you even try that... and I swear I'll make the rest of your life a living HELL. I bet the Devil's waiting for you right now, isn't he, Mei?" He laughed. He actually found himself LAUGHING. "Ohhh, I bet he's got big plans for you. And I bet you deserve all of them." He suddenly realized the words that had come out of his mouth. ...he hadn't even heard the rest of what Mei had said. ...the wall was cracked. He stared at his fists. Oh God. Oh, God. ...what... had... he even said? He felt his knees shaking, and buckling beneath him. ... "What did... what did I just say," he sputtered. Darcy found himself laughing again. But also crying at the same time... After a long silence, filled only by his hiccuping sobs... he finally spoke again. "...honestly... h-he probably has pretty big plans for me, too." Because what kind of horrible person would do that?... What kind of horrible person would do that... to his own sister? [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVHe blinked, and then remembered the task at hand. "O-Oh! You found a map! Great work, Kubo!" Leave it to him to find it so quickly! Maybe he had special experience with checking the right places... You'd need that sort of instinct as a detective, right? How... Admirable. Lucian wished he'd stop finding things to add to his treasured rose garden. It felt like it was full of little notes about Kubo, little things he couldn't help but adore about him. But he wanted to leave the rose garden. He couldn't seem to find the exit, however... He noticed Kubo scratching it a few times. He wasn't quite sure for what reason, but... Whatever it was... Wow. How thorough. Maybe he was worried about traps? He tried to shake the thoughts away. Now was not the time to think about... Feelings! He was investigating this place with... A- friend? He looked at the map, and his face fell. "...this... Doesn't look great, huh?" [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVOh, and sometimes things aren't, as plain as they seem Daaaarling, when I go, Bury me six feet in snow Here we are, wasting our chances for the last time, Oh, and when we go, I'll try not to be, so, slow Skeletons, skeletons, what do we have here? Hiding from the mirror? Say it, once, say it twice! Try to be nice... Well, let's not lose ourselves... Summer's over, love had left her... Screaming at the screen! Oh, and it's understood, that the both of us Are no goooood, I'll always be that Short little gloat always clearing his throat, Like he ever had something to say, And I'lllll say, when I go... Bury me six feet in snow" "Okay, okay. I trust you, dumbass. Now let's get going." He... He trusts me. Lucian blushed. Gosh, why did he... Why did he not even mind Kubo insulting him? I'm... A dumbass, huh? He's right, really... Lucian was dragged out of his thoughts. Figuratively, and literally. By Kubo hooking his arm and dragging him. Oh my god. Oh my god. Kubo was TOUCHING him. KUBO ATSUSHI WAS DRAGGING HI- Calm down. He's just getting you to go with him to investigate this place. But that didn't stop his heart's insistent pounding... He was grateful for the helmet, to conceal his facial expressions. God... I don't want him to know how I feel. And yet... I really do. But of course, the smart thing to do is not to tell him. Right? Lucian longed to not be trapped here. For them to all just be... In a normal school. Because then maybe, one day, he could tell Kubo how he felt, and not be afraid he didn't feel the same way. Maybe they'd ALL have more time together. No one would have died. They'd all be happy together. But instead, someone was going to die. It should be me... Shouldn't it? Darcy Harper's POVDarcy frowned. "I thought I recalled you saying... Something else." ...then... The next words Darcy heard Mei say made him feel like he was going to vomit. "What, you "care a lot about their fragile, sensitive heart" or some bulls**t? Really thinking something as tame as that was an insult? Pfft, you wouldn't ever want to hear the insults I had piled up, Darcy, I was being gentle." "Well, you weren't being very NICE," Darcy replied in a low, threatening voice. He was regretting going after her now... "...If you really cared about Sawyer, you'd keep them the hell away from me, from everyone, got that? If you so badly insist on them remaining a seemingly innocent ball of annoyingness, you'd do a better job at shielding them from the harsh reality every single damn person on this ship can give 'em. Just sayin', y'know." "DON'T YOU DARE IMPLY I DON'T CARE ABOUT THEM!" he shouted, curling his fingers into fists, struggling not to lash out at Mei. "AND I'M THE ONLY ONE ALLOWED TO CALL THEM ANNOYING!" He clapped his hands over his mouth. What... What the hell was that? "I-I mean, I--" Darcy faltered. His fists uncurled themselves. "...they're... They're happy like this. I just want them to be happy, Mei. I know it's not real, and I don't like it, but..." He felt his anger bubbling up in him again. "Just who do you think you are, anyway? Saying... Things like that. I can't just-- keep them away from everyone. They're their own person! They-- they just... They hang around me because-- they like doing it! I... I think... You're..." "First off, don't apologize for that s**t, I don't wanna hear it." "...I was just... Just trying to be a decent person. And I... Was just worried about you. Do you care about that? Do you care about ANYONE?" "Why the hell do you care, huh? Don't you want me dead in the f**kin' grave, shoved six feet under? Don't gotta lie to me, I already know the answer..." Darcy had to think for a long moment. "N-No... Mei... I..." He looked at the floor. "...I don't want you dead. Even though I probably should. I care about you. You matter to me." "I'm fine Darcy, don't know what the hell you're on about... I ain't goin' "through anything" or whatever the f**k you think." "If... That's true, why are you acting like this? You don't... Usually act like this. It feels like something's wrong, Mei. It really does." Heh, don't worry about me, totally wasn't plannin' on it anyways~" "..." Darcy stared at Mei with a mix of hate and concern in his eyes. "Please... Don't joke about things like that. And don't get hurt... Okay?" (IDRIS REPLIES REQUIRED.)[Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVLucian's face fell. Was it... Was it really so idiotic? To trade his life for someone else's? Then again, it was surrendering to their twisted Headmaster, in a way. By giving in to death and despair. By accepting his fate, as the breath left his body, and he'd die with a smile on his face and happy tears in his eyes... Knowing he might have, just might have, saved these people. Or at least, saved one or two more people from dying. "I just thought..." His voice faltered. "...I thought it'd be a good idea. In terms of numbers, you and everyone else would be alive... And it'd be just me who would be dead. But I-- I don't know about it, either. When push comes to shove, of course I'd give up my own life for someone else's, or for everyone else's. But I-- I want to protect you. And help you. And... Help everyone else too." His life was... Valuable. Since when was Lucian's life of any value? ... Wasn't it valuable because he helped others? And this... This could help everyone a lot. And yet, it was a double-edged sword. Since he was the Ultimate Therapist... Kubo thought of his life as... As valuable as everyone else's. Why? "...I mean... Don't I look weak to you?" he asked him with a sad smile. Kubo seemed so upset right now. "I-- yeah... Got it." He gazed intently at Kubo, hearing a slight hesitation in his tone. "You- really think so? I..." Lucian winced at the thought of Kaoru. He was supposed to keep her safe... But... Kubo Atsushi wasn't a liar, was he? Not often, anyway. He could understand his lying about his talent, of course... He wanted to trust him. He wanted to believe in him. Lucian frowned thoughtfully. "I really hope you're right, Kubo. In... That case, do you think our Headmaster is bluffing? Do you think there's a way that, maybe..." His eyes looked at Kubo as though he was made of stars. "We could all get back down to school, together? Maybe we'll escape, or, we'll all live there, and... Everyone can be happy?" Life wasn't usually something you could expect happy endings from. Lucian knew that. But... He couldn't help but hope for the best in people. No matter what they'd done to him in the past. Or to those close to him... There was good in everyone... Or so he liked to believe... He shook his head. "He probably won't, but..." Lucian couldn't help but laugh and smile at Kubo. "But, pfft, it doesn't seem- completely out-of-character for him, does it? Maybe we can just look around everywhere, see if we can find a map... It'll probably be in some central area, or off on a wall somewhere, I think. If they have one." Lucian Arbred didn't laugh all that often. But it seemed the Ultimate Detective could inspire that kind of thing in him... He'd... Never felt so happy around someone before. Even if he thought of him as an idiot. He wanted to be his idiot. Darcy Harper's POVSawyer looked perplexed, but nodded. He headed up to Mei. ...this... This wasn't normal for her, was it? "I'm sorry. Sawyer didn't mean to scare you... It's just... You know how they are. I'm sorry." He crossed his arms. "But you didn't have to insult them, you know..." I mean, feel free to insult ME, that's fine. But not Sawyer! I'm... Used to being overlooked. Always being considered less. "Sorry. No, that was insensitive, I... Are you doing okay? You seem like you're... Going through some things right now. Shout at me if you want, and, if you need to be alone, that's okay, just... Please be careful, don't get yourself killed, okay?" Sawyer Laurens's POVMaybe this was some kind of game! They headed over to Idris with a grin. "Heyyy! Why the long face? You okay? WE'RE PLAYING THE FREAKING IMPOSTER GAME!! THIS IS AWESOME!" You didn't leave. You never left. You were always right there with me. I just had to believe that, and then you were still there. ...why had Mei gone and said a thing like--- ... Sawyer hadn't meant to startle her. Jeeeeeeez. She was touchy. Was she okay? Was something-- Of course she was! Why wouldn't she be? [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVLucian flinched, but tried to mask the wince that had formed upon his face. He smiled sadly at Kubo. "Y-Yeah... You're right. Sorry, that was stupid..." "Come on, Lucian. We can do this later, if you're going to be weird about it." Lucian felt the butterflies stirring up again. Later?... No, Kubo probably just meant that as a way of dismissing it. God, he was right! He had been being weird about it... "...I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I'm sorry." He felt Kubo letting go of him, and he was left with the empty aching to be in his arms again. Lucian looked thoughtful. "...well, maybe. They might have maps for this place too, that seems feasible. Or, maybe they just want us to..." He froze. "...to explore on our own, and possibly get separated. I think it'd be best for us to stay together, see if there are any maps. Try to figure this place out..." He lowered his head. "...I can't believe someone might die again," he choked out. "...and I might not be able to save them. Again. Kubo..." He looked at him pleadingly. "...do you- do you think anyone here might kill someone? Do you... Really think it can't be prevented? I'm supposed to help everyone here, but what help am I if... Someone winds up dead? Maybe it would be better if it was me... a-and... If I died, you'd be protected too, right?" [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVBa-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump. He's... my pillow. Oh, if only that were true. Because then he... Lucian felt very warm and fuzzy inside, as he imagined holding Kubo close on a winter's day, inside, indulging in his warmth, and sharing his own with him... "Isn't that... my job?" he asked with a little laugh. "You know... you should be taking... your emotions out on me. This is... really okay with you?" Good god... what was this feeling? ...it... wasn't very common. So at first, it was difficult for Lucian to say what it was... He felt... so happy. "Kubo... I'd never even think of hitting you. I don't EVER want to do that. And I- I like this... do you... like it too?" Lucian had had very few fond memories of touch. But it almost felt like those memories, in the form of photos, had been swept away. Thrown right into the sea, and washed away. The snow had gone and covered the dreary landscape that was Lucian's former perception of being touched, like this... If it was with him... If it was with Kubo... He wanted to feel this forever. Lucian Arbred's POVWhat did... he mean by that, exactly? Lucian's eyes sparkled. ...so... he... he didn't think he was so bad- Oh- gosh- he'd hugged him, why had he done that, he hadn't meant to- "I'm a detective, you know. You're pretty awesome, and I detected- that-" Pretty... awesome? A squiggly smile made its way upon Lucian's face. He tried to stop smiling, but- his face kept twisting back into that shape. His heart pounded in his chest. "...Y-You're... pretty awesome too! Like, really awesome." Oh, god. He felt Kubo wrapping his arms around him in return, to his surprise. He almost lost his grip from being so startled. Feeling... Kubo's arms around him again... Oh, gosh. Oh, goodness. WHAT WAS THIS?! His face was feeling dangerously hot underneath his helmet. "...Jeez. Don't make this a habit, okay?" Of course. Right... pfft, what was he doing? "R-Right! Of course... I- sorry, I don't know what I was thinking, I guess I just-... maybe it was an instinct. I- I don't know. Should I... stop?" As much as he wanted to stay like this... there were deaths to be prevented. If they could be prevented... Darcy Harper's POVSawyer didn't seem to be taking him seriously. "Ohhh! Got it. We're the crewmates! So, what task we off to first, Pink?" Darcy glared at them with narrowed eyes. "Sawyer... this isn't-" He stopped himself. "That game. Well, we should look around, I suppose. Just... stay close to me? Please?" Sawyer saw the pleading look in his eyes, and nodded. "Okay. I'll stay close to you. Don't wanna get stabbed in Electrical, do we?" Darcy looked away. "...yes. We definitely don't." Sawyer Laurens's POVAs Sawyer saw Darcy spotting... Mei, a reluctant smile seemed to appear upon his face. Sawyer's eyes widened. "OHHH!! Hey, person!" Sawyer exclaimed, running after Mei before Darcy could stop them. "Whatcha looking at? Whatcha doing? Good to see you!" Darcy facepalmed. "Umm, Sawyer, I- maybe we should leave her alone-" Sawyer frowned. "But you said none of us should be left alone, right? We can't leave her all alone! Heya!" They offered their hand to Mei. [Read more] |

Dorky Monroe's POVYou can ask where the nearest is, I'll say, "Look no further, than your favourite lyricist" Me! The kid waking up from a dream Realizing his music is the worst he's ever seen, And who cares if it was from when he was fifteen? It deserves the same judgment, It deserves the same judgment God, it's so hard to be good for your age! When you know that your work's not good enough for the stage, You got the skills of an idiot who got too much praise, And your whole damn career just turns into a phase And the fire in your heart is beginning to fade…" …oh my Aubrey. Am I really here? Am I REALLY here? Dorky Monroe thought he'd dreamt that letter. Hallucinated it, even! He never could have dreamed he'd wind up here! He was absolutely ECSTATIC! – and also, kinda terrified! Actual interaction with HUMAN BEINGS? Oh, dude, he hadn't done this in a while. And like, school stuff interaction? Was like being Tomoko Kuroki from Watamote, and your throat would freeze up at the slightest word- or you'd spurt out loads of word-vomit and SHBLAM, IT'S IN PIECES! They're all staring at you!! But his heartbeat quickened and a beam drew its way onto his face. Maybe he could be somebody here! Maybe he could… somehow MAKE FRIENDS here? Maybe he could make people happy here! Maybe they'd all LIKE HIM and what he had to offer the world! Briefly, Dorky recalled the last couple of weeks. He'd desperately found every skin care tip he could so he'd HOPEFULLY be acne-less at school, because acne sucks. He'd desperately researched every social convention he could think of, and thought up hundreds of potential conversation topics, which he rehearsed in his head with people of various personalities. You assess the people, you get inside their heads. What motivates them, what do they fear? What do they love, what do they loathe? And then you play into that and you shed the masks and it's all just one big joyful, musical comradery of friendship and tulips and happily ever afters, fuzzy ducklings and healings and beginnings, never endings!! His knees banged together in excitement. He didn't know, really, why he had been scouted as the Ultimate Lyricist. But he'd been told people loved the passion, the soul, the heartfelt emotion that he bled onto the pages. Dorky had always been considered strange, and he strived to comprehend everyone from every perspective. He wanted to help other people feel understood, in a way he never did. Ohwowohwowohwow! This was going to be such a big adventure! What talented people would he meet here? Maybe they… even had a music club of some sort! Maybe instead of being bullied and stared at, people would love and appreciate his music, just like some already had! Things could be beautiful here. Absolutely beautiful… And maybe… His face lit up with a flush and a nervous little laugh. He'd even fall in love? Dorky had always regretted he'd never gotten to have your "ordinary human social life". Few to no irl friends, moving, moving, moving… forced into utter isolation. The closest thing he'd ever had to a date was that one outing with a girl who probably thought he was weird because honestly people usually tended to think of him as weird and she kinda only liked girls anyway so there was no point of thinking about– School sounded so overwhelming. But he was so excited to meet the people there!! And… it'd be nice to, well… maybe experience some thingies of the teenage years. That he'd never gotten to experience before… Before he'd have to inevitably do human being adult stuff. He pulled out his student ID card and scanned it. Dorky Monroe, Ultimate Lyricist #749. He felt it in-between his fingers, hardly daring to believe it to be real. Wow, that was strange, he noted, with a look at the ID. Could have been a coincidence, but was that number his tritype? He didn't get to think about it another moment, as the gate creaked open, before he suddenly felt lightheaded. Momentarily, he pondered if this was due in part to how he ate at such random intervals. But that was not the reason. Dorky Monroe faceplanted onto the pavement. And little did he know, that this school, Hope's Peak Academy… the one he was so very excited about – could be the place the Ultimate Lyricist composed his final piece. His own swan song. Suzume Fujimori's POVThey make technology, high quality, complex, physiological Experiments and sacrilege in the name of public good They taught me everything, Just like a daddy should! And you were beautiful and vulnerable, And power and success, God, damn I fell for you, your flamethrowers Your tunnels and your tech! I studied code because I wanted To do something great like you, And the real tragedy is half of it was true!" The Ultimate Scientist panted and puffed as she ran to Hope's Peak Academy. This was abnormal. She was ONLY THREE MINUTES EARLY! Oh, wow. She was REALLY behind on her game today, wasn't she? She took a breath and pulled out her I.D. card thoughtfully. This was it. This was the Ultimate Scientist's chance for greatness. She'd make her parents proud here. She might learn a lot here. And when she graduated... she could become one of the world's greatest scientists. That people would speak of for years to come. Or, at least, I'll try my best. Suzume frowned thoughtfully. For some strange reason, she had a bad feeling about this place. Was she worried that it would be harder than Oxford? Maybe. This was a school for Ultimates. THE Ultimates. Who knew what could go wrong here? Still, could things go any worse than... Suzume shook her head. No, she couldn't think of that. Slowly, she pulled out her ID card from her bag Yes, that was her. But she wasn't going to be number #836 when she left this place. She was going to be number one. There would never be a greater scientist. She scanned the ID card, and Suzume felt herself growing lightheaded. Okay, so maybe she stayed up a bit too late studying for- THUD! The glasses slid off the front of her face, as she met the ground, unconscious. ...but little did she know, she might never live up to her potential. Kowai Kurai's POVShe always knew how to get her way Just act a little bit wild And someone will surely come to play It's a truth she took to heart But humility and patience didn't come with age She's born to play this part A diva's always center stage" A perfectly ordinary, innocent girl made her way to Hope's Peak Academy. A cheerful, good-hearted smile, with a tinge of offness upon her face. If you didn't get it already, this young lady was truly a sweetheart, who had never done anything wrong in her life. ... She already had her facial expression prepped. She already knew the ways she'd walk. The ways she'd react. The ways she'd move her hands, the way she'd listen in on their words. Hoarding the information, ever so greedily, for her own reasons. She didn't let her face betray her. You never knew who might be watching. Such a lovely smile, with such lovely thoughts. Hope's Peak Academy, hm? What a fascinating place. Probably full of fascinating She'd find her way here. Kowai Kurai always had a way with people. ...well. Most people. Kowai blinked away her intrusive thoughts, as she withdrew her ID card, looking at it thoughtfully. She checked it, to ensure it wasn't some sort of sharp weapon. Or trap. You never knew with everything. And as she lost consciousness in front of those gates... She silently wondered if she had been outsmarted by someone just like that. Had she? Only time would tell. Lucian Arbred's POVAnd I'm down to forget, if you'll say it's true And those drapes on the wall Can't shut out the silence Does it suck that I'm not so predictable? To me, evergreen wasn't such a bad dream, Oh, and sometimes things aren't, as plain as they seem, Daaaarling When I go, Bury me six feet in snow! Here we are, wasting our chances for the last time... Oh, and when we go, I'll try not to be so slow..." Lucian Arbred stared at the fabled Hope's Peak Academy with a certain guarded curiosity, and he pondered what could come of this future he would soon experience. As he walked these halls, as he met the people within... Ultimates. Fellow Ultimates. Lucian had never known he would someday become talented. A person like him... Under circumstances like that... Well. People never expected you to amount to anything. And here he was, standing outside Hope's Peak Academy. It didn't feel completely real. He wanted to look at this experience with sparks of light and hope in his eyes. He wanted to breathe in the air in deep excitement, and yet... Why did this impending dread hang in the air? Lucian supposed it had always been there. From the time he was young. ...but... He had a strange feeling. That... He wasn't important. Of course, he wasn't important. But... He had a strange feeling that he might be needed here. And that something, or someone, was out there... Plotting to kill him. He slowly pulled his pocket knife from his bag... Backbiter, it was called. He shuddered. It had been said it could wound both solid humans, and beings that were... Supernatural in nature. Less than mortal. Of course, as much as Lucian loved various myths, it was just silly to think of them as true. Right? He glanced around. It almost felt like there was someone there... Lurking in the shadows. But he couldn't see a thing. All he could hear was the faint rustle of the breeze, but even that was enough to make him flinch. Perhaps it was just... The way things always were, that made Lucian feel so paranoid. He put Backbiter away in his bag, and withdrew his ID card. It would be alright. Things would be alright here. Maybe he could really help some people out here... Lucian Arbred, Ultimate Therapist #414. He slid his ID card to open the gate, letting out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding in. As it creaked open, Lucian tucked the card back into his bag. He adjusted his scarf, and slowly took a step forward... Before promptly, and silently, falling unconscious. [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POV"R-REALLY? I mean-" He hadn't intended to say the first word so loudly. "That's... Really sweet of you, Kubo. But... You don't have to. My life isn't important. Yours is. But... So long as I'm alive, I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe." He wanted to reach for his hand. He longed to gaze into his eyes, and get lost in them. Spinning, spinning... To a place far away... Far up in the clouds... But he couldn't help but recall something... ... "Well? Whatcha waiting for, kid? Just kill me already." Lucian felt himself sweating, sweating so intensely. Shaking, shaking- His eyes, his knees, his hands- The gun he held, itching for the trigger- "You don't have the guts to do it... Do you? Just finish me off." After a long hesitation, Lucian's grip faltered on the gun. "...n-no. you're right. I don't have the guts to do it." Lucian laughed quietly, and he dropped the gun. "Because I'm not like that... I'm not a killer. Don't make me a killer. Don't ever make me a killer." His breathing grew raspy. The man stared at him, wondering if it was some sort of trick... "...I'm a healer. And I'll die a healer." "But I know, I knowwww, Life can be beautiful, I praaaaay, I pray, For a better way, We were kind before, We can be kind once more We can be beautiful..." Kubo... Didn't really mean that, did he? It was... Truly a lovely thought. For someone to care about protecting him. ...but, he didn't matter. He never mattered. He wasn't supposed to matter. Family disappointment. Here a disappointment. And yet, Kubo... Kubo called him an angel. Angel-Boy. That's what he was to him. And maybe, in a way, Kubo was right. In a way, Lucian was an angel. He dedicated his whole life to helping and saving others. He'd put up with anything, just to make them happy. Lucian didn't even realize he'd accidentally wrapped his arms around Kubo until he suddenly drifted back into reality. His face reddened. WAIT WHAT?! He blinked. Darcy Harper's POVHe faltered. One person would have to die anyway. His eyes threatened to tear up. Dammit... What was the point? "It'll... Give everyone a chance at survival. For as long as possible. If we stick in groups." Who had said that? Darcy hadn't been there to hear anything of the sort. But for some reason, the words felt faintly familiar. Why? I remember the piano recital. It was not long before everything fell apart. I saw the way Will looked at her. Sawyer chattered away in my ear, and I could see Mom's flinching glare. She looked... So proud of her. So proud of Erica. Erica, who was always so much better than me. So much more important. How I longed to be seen like Erica was. ...I wanted someone to look at me, the way Will looked at her. The way Mom looked at her. ...the way... Sawyer looked at Kaoru. Sawyer Laurens's POVDarcy grabbed Sawyer by the shoulders. "Sawyer! Someone is going to die! Or we all die! In this damned spaceship!" he sputtered. Sawyer blinked, confused. But this is a dream. "Didn't you hear what Monokuma said?" Sawyer did the She-Ra hand sign. "Don't be silly! Clearly he's just messing with us! You think we'll get to play Laser Tag?" Darcy smiled sadly at Sawyer, and released his grip from their shoulders. "N-Never mind..." ...It isn't real. It's not real. Just like what happened that day. What a silly nightmare that was that I had, huh? Suzume Fujimori [GHOST]All of her fantastical discoveries... Stoic, calm, cold, logical, blunt. But also with a great precision and love for the craft. The pieces would all fall into place. She remembered when she was younger, how she was always so different from the other kids. How from the mere age of five, her parents had tried to encourage her to read lighter material. Why not the cute little book with the dinosaurs? But all Suzume wanted to know was what said dinosaurs were made of. She pored over scientific textbooks of every subject. She absorbed every bit of the information. She wanted to discover every anomaly known to humanity, and every single one not yet discovered. Suzume Fujimori spent every moment of her free time doing chemical experiments and tests, testing, testing away... Defying every law of the Earth, and yet working within some, to create something new, and brilliant. You're a scientist, Miss Fujimori. That was her calling. That was her identity, from a young age. And for thousands of years, after her passing... People would still know her name. And the contributions she made. No matter what she had to push through to make them happen. ...so why had she wound up, dead on the floor of Hope's Peak Academy, moments away from her bright future, a bullet through her brain, her most valuable asset? The world would never know of all she could have achieved. Because the mad scientist was also a villain. She had died a villain, who had confessed to her sins, and taken herself out. In the hopes of some sort of redemption for what she did, as the guilt overtook her. And now she was here... Where was... Here? Who were all these people? "I must say..." Suzume mused to herself, upon finally realizing what had happened. "I never thought the afterlife to be a scientifically feasible phenomenon." ...but, she had to admit, it was a pity, that they couldn't have uploaded her consciousness to some form of database, such as in one of her favorite video games of all time. Well, it seemed, the Ultimate Scientist was back. ...as a ghost, of course. Kowai Kurai's POVBut a curiosity overtook her. ...he could really save anyone, could he? She wanted to know more, and promptly reflected if she should go after him. "How, Niwa?" she asked him, her hand suddenly upon his shoulder. "How can you do it?" [Read more] |

Title: W.I.P. LMAOLMAOLucian Arbred's POVLucian bit his lip as he heard Kubo speak. His heart fluttered at that voice, and he remembered his promise to protect him. "I... Can lead the way. If you want." He almost inhaled, but didn't. He wanted to breathe as little as possible. To conserve what little oxygen was available. "...I promised I'd protect you, Kubo," he told him, too quietly for anyone else to hear. "...so... Whatever that entails... I'll do it." This was all so terrifying. This whole thing was terrifying. And as much as Lucian would be willing to sacrifice his own life to save everyone here... He had to ask himself... Would he be more useful to them all... As a dead man walking, or as a corpse? Lucian was a ghost. He had always been a ghost. You just had to accept, in this life you were living... That you were practically a zombie. And once the army decided it had no use for you anymore... They'd leave you to rot away, without any food. To die, although you were dead. You lived every day as if you were dead, with a shotgun in your hand and bloodstains on your face. [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVThat was crossing a line. Because, by saying that, did that mean he was speaking in reference to their limbs no longer functioning? Sawyer looked disappointed. "No more Naruto-running?" Lucian sighed. He couldn't understand why they only seemed disappointed, not upset, and possibly terrified. Lucian found himself glancing in Miyako and Shi's direction. Oh. They seemed quite happy, didn't they? A small smile formed upon his face. But the warmth in his heart was promptly replaced by a frost of loneliness. Kaoru... I miss you. I wish you were here. She didn't deserve to die. She DIDN'T deserve to die. And then a bitterness overtook him. Miyako... she could be part of the reason Kaoru was dead right now. Part of the reason he'd lost his dearest friend. ...but... was that irrational? Was it... his fault? Was it somehow... Kaoru's fault? ...maybe it was no one's fault. And his eyes found their way to looking at Kubo. His stomach lurched as the structure took off. Was... he really going... to see outer space? His heart fluttered, and he tried to look away. God... what did... he see in him, anyway? Kaoru... even wanted him dead, for some reason or other. A queasiness settled in. I wish I had experience in this... I wish I knew what you're supposed to do when you're in love. And you don't want to be. His eyes found their way to Shi and Miyako again. Seemingly so happy, and carefree, and he felt tears stirring up in his eyes, that he blinked away. But one betrayed him and slid down his face underneath the helmet. It might not... be that bad, Mei. But, no. She might be right. Lucian had never been to outer space before. And, if there was anything he'd learned from this life... You could always hope things would get better. You could always hope things could be better. Always see them for their potential. That idealistic vision in your mind. Of that beautiful future. But you needed to pull yourself back to Earth as well. Sawyer Laurens's POVSawyer's eyes widened as the rocket lurched upward. Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow! They were all going to space! This dream was turning out to be pretty epic!! They grinned excitedly. "Oh wow... we're in space. Sure, it's not real and all, but... SPACE!" This dream did feel pretty real, at least. The lurching sent Sawyer spinning into flashback status. That car accident... well, it was kinda annoying. Nothing too bad happened, though. At least... I don't think. Sawyer found themself murmuring a familiar song... strawberries. Strawberries were cool. Strawberries were really cool! How they always sweetened everything! "Always, no sometimes, think it's me But you know I know when it's a dream I think I know, I mean a... yes But it's all wrong That is, I think I disagree..." Darcy Harper's POVSo happy together. He angrily curled his fingers into a fist, and closed his eyes. Why not me? Why couldn't it have been me? Why did you always like her better? Why was I NEVER good enough? I wish I was good enough. I want to be good enough... He couldn't even hear Mei. Or the roar of the rocket. Or anything else, for that matter. He was just too focused... on that. Damn them. How could you be so happy, when I'm not? ...or maybe... I deserve this. I don't know. "I still remember the third of December, me in your sweater You said it looked better on me than it did you Only if you knew how much I liked you But I watch your eyes as she Walks by What a sight for sore eyes Brighter than the blue sky She's got you mesmerized while I die..." "Why would you ever kiss me? I'm not even half as pretty You gave her your sweater, it's just polyester But you like her better..." [After Serend's post] Omniscient POVHow could he expect anything less from Monokuma, after all? The bear robot that had brought them all here to kill each other. But, somehow, he got the feeling Monokuma wouldn't really let all their oxygen run out. After all, he'd gain a lot more satisfaction from... He shivered. Watching someone kill someone else here. Still, with this sort of pressure in the air (both figuratively and literally), Lucian really didn't have high hopes for this anymore. Outer space looked so pretty from a closer view... But knowing what was going to happen here... he bit his lip. He didn't want to be up here anymore. Life always had to taint its good parts with blood, didn't it? There was always something, in life, that would make you quiver in fear. That would make you fall down on your knees, while you were coughing up blood and begging for mercy-- not even knowing if your eyes would ever recover, or if you'd go completely blind. Or-- worse, the bleeding would kill you. While your eyes would spill out all the abnormal tears that your eyes could never produce. While you wept in silence. Because you didn't want to endanger anyone else. "...just kill me," he murmured to himself. Just don't let it be anyone else. They don't deserve it. But, Luke, isn't that selfish? Don't they all need you more than ever? Why was there a noose in here?... Was it just him, or was there someone behind- Oh god. Please no. . . . It sure was good he'd had that pocket knife on him. Darcy looked queasy. And it wasn't from the ride. Sawyer gasped. "WAIT, DUDE, IS THIS THE HENRY STICKMIN TOPPAT ORBITAL STATION!? I ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE INSIDE!! And- and- is this AMONG U-" Darcy clapped a hand over their mouth. "Shsh. Don't let the bear know you know it's copyrighted!" Sawyer let out a muffled protest about cows and music notes. Darcy glanced around. "Well... what should we do? If Monokuma makes good on his threat about the oxygen... I guess someone will have to die." His head lowered sadly. Why? Why are we all trapped here? He'd come here with the hope in his heart, to find love. To finally not be so trapped by what he had called his life for so long. ...but... he really hadn't wanted to find love. He'd... just wanted to forget about... ...about him. About the man he wished he hadn't loved. Who loved someone else better. And now that he was actually in love, he didn't want it anymore. He just wanted to go home. He didn't want anyone else to die anymore. "So, what do we do?" he asked to seemingly no one, hollowly. "Explore, of course!" Sawyer exclaimed, awkwardly waving their arms. Darcy sighed. "...I- guess that'd be a good start." Wow. Wowow. They were actually here!! INSIDE BOTH A HENRY STICKMIN AND AMONG US REFERENCE! AN ACTUAL HENRY STICKMIN AND AMONG US REFERENCE!! ...well... not like. Actually here. This dream was so strangely realistic they almost forgot it was one sometimes. "Where should we explore first?!" they chirped. Lucian sighed. "...I- guess- we should all stay together." But what was the point? Lucian wondered. Kowai Kurai's POVThat would set the world aflame, while "the hero" watched the monster he'd created. Maybe he could be of some use. If he really is a hero... Pfft. Maybe he could be my hero. Sawyer Laurens's POVWhat was with her? She seemed so upset... Now was a time to be HAPPY!! They were all going to space! "Everybody, this is going to be GREAT! I can't wait to go!" they exclaimed, beaming. The world was painted a vibrant violet. It was so pretty, stars, stars, and Saturn's rings. A place for you and your friends to play. Everything would be okay. Everything was okay. It was great to be here. Even if they couldn't come along because-- Darcy Harper's POVDarcy wasn't so sure that was true, but when Mei acted like this... He felt defensive. "Solaro... I'm sure she didn't mean to be so mean. This situation is really stressful for all of us. But, you're right. She should at least apologize." He huffed. Ugh... MEI. What did he even see in her anyway?... She was... So much like... Lucian Arbred's POVHe wasn't so sure he'd seen her like this before. He looked over at her, and bit his lip. He wanted to comfort her. But maybe that'd make things even worse. Darcy let out a relenting sigh. "I guess you're right." He glanced over at Sawyer. "Yeah, it's- going to be great." Something about Darcy seemed to flinch about the stars outside. Lucian tilted his head. ...was he... Reminded of something? (Darcy doesn't have astrophobia like Mei does, just, whoops, edgy flashback detected!) [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVLucian Arbred had always loved the stars, and the constellations that traced the night sky. You'd stare up at them, lying down, in the cold, welcoming snow... and you'd long to be those birds. You'd long to be able to reach up, and touch the stars. And when you were out there, feeling yourself slowly become at one with the universe, as your breath coursed slower and slower, the cold threatening to freeze you solid, to become one with the snow... To become one with the nature, with the beauty around you... It almost didn't matter how you knew you were going to catch it from Dad when you got home. That he might even kill you. And on days when he didn't feel like he could risk sneaking out to gaze up at those stars, Lucian found himself sketching them. Maybe, if he wasn't the Ultimate Therapist, he should have been the Ultimate Astronomer. But... Lucian's true calling had been helping others. And often he wished he could be that starry, endless sky, that people saw twinkling and smiling down at them... That brought them comfort, to the point they'd be whisked away from their bitter realities for a while... By the beauty of those lights... By the peace that they brought. And now, Lucian would be closer than ever to those stars. Wasn't it almost a dream come true?... To witness such wonders, even under these deadly circumstances?... "Space is so beautiful," Lucian murmured. "The vast expanse of the void, the countless planets and galaxies, all in harmony with one another... Coming together to form a universe... I wish Horatia and Kaoru got to see this too..." Lucian tried not to cry at the thought. Horatia and Kaoru would never see this... Sawyer Laurens's POVDarcy watched, a thinly-veiled grimace upon his face. But he said nothing... "WOO! WE'RE GOOOOOING TO SPAAACE, WE'RE GOOOING TO SPAAACE!" Sawyer cheered, jumping up and down ecstatically, still hugging Mei. The planetary exhibit that day... The permission slips, they... Well, that wasn't mentionable. What a strange thought! Darcy Harper's POVWhat if someone pulled off someone else's helmet, or cut their oxygen supply? Maybe Monokuma would dhmp some of them out in space on a dangerous mission! Or maybe, he'd make them fight over oxygen later... Either way, Darcy didn't like this. And he didn't like Sawyer's arms around Mei either... No, he knew how they were about hugging. But Darcy couldn't help feeling envious. He sighed. Lucian was spouting some philosophical comment, seemingly mesmerized by the thought of space. Darcy shook his head. "I just hope we don't all wind up killing each other..." Maybe, Darcy could just... He could... ...no one else would have to die that way, right? Would he die out here, alone and forgotten? I don't want to be nobody... [Read more] |

Lucian Arbred's POVLucian awoke in a room that reeked of, looked, and sounded all like unfamiliarity. Not that he was all too familiar with his dorm, which had a scent which reminded him of Kaoru, but... But... He could have sworn, this place felt different. This wasn't his dorm. And something felt... Off. He blinked his way awake. Wait... There were others in this room? What was going on? The other students... Lucian paled. He had a feeling Monokuma had something to do with this. He said nothing, however, he merely sat up, knees to his chest. He spotted Mei Akamatsu, but he found his face flushing and his eyes flitting away. After... After their last conversation. He'd accidentally made her aware of his feelings for Kubo. And she... Had said he wasn't a bad person. Which, he had probably imagined... He didn't want to look at her right now. Hopefully, whatever was going on... Wasn't too horrific, and everyone was safe. Darcy Harper's POVHow had he wound up here? He briefly recalled how he had slept in the same bed as Sawyer and Akora, and now... It appeared he was in an entirely different room... "What... Happened?" Darcy mumbled, rubbing the back of his aching head with his hands. This was probably that bear's doing, wasn't it? ...or maybe God was angry at him. Sawyer Laurens's POVDarcy frowned. "Umm... Hi, Sawyer. Yeah, that.. could be true for you, but what about the rest of us?" He crossed his arms. "DAAAACE! HEY! Well, uhhh, about the rest of you..." Sawyer paused, blinking. Their mouth had been about to form the words, "You guys aren't real", but... They never came out. Their mouth closed shut. They hesitated. Why?... Akora Menx's POV"Oh, hey, Akora! You're awake!" Sawyer chirped. "Well... Umm, in a sense, anyway! Hiii!" She saw Lucian smile at her and give a little wave. She remembered the quiet boy, and her gaze softened. The two of them hadn't talked all that much, but she couldn't say they weren't on good terms. She turned to Sawyer curiously. "Oh! Uhh, Sawyer?" She tilted her head. "Any ideas how we got... Here?" Sawyer shrugged. "Dunno. Your guess is as good as mine!" "...it probably has to do with our "lovely Headmaster"," Darcy remarked with a role of his eyes, using air quotes. "Yeah. That.. doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility." Akora sighed. "Wonder what he's up to with this whole thing?" Sawyer smiled reassuringly, bouncing up and down. "Whatever it is, I bet it's something super cool!" "...yeah. hopefully." Solaro Makasu's POVAkora shook her head, but smiled at Solaro afterward. "As far as I know... It's probably something drummed up by Monokuma." "Well, the real question is, are we trapped in hereeee?" "...I guess we'll have to wait for Headmaster Monokuma to speak to find out," Lucian surprisingly spoke up. Mika Uyehara's POVOh. Mika woke up. It was a dream, of course it was a dream. Because that kind of thing would never happen in reality. Right?... "Uhhh..." Mika glanced around the room. What the hell? Apparently he was somewhere he didn't recognize, with no recollection of how he might have gotten there. Maybe he was still dreaming. He blinked. "welcome to the world of the waking," Lucian remarked. "...or, whatever this place is. I wonder if anyone here knows what's going on..." Mika noticed the boy looked at him with a certain caution in his eyes, and he momentarily recalled why. Oh, right. The explosive. Hmm. Should he build one or not? Well... He might need to get out of this room first.... Mika crossed his arms. Hopefully, somebody would explain all this soon. It didn't seem like he was about to be murdered. That was good, he supposed. Sutaraitsu Unemoto's POVSutaraitsu glanced about the room he found himself in. Wow, this was... weird. He silently wondered that if he wasn't the Ultimate Serendipity, if he would have appeared dead in here. That probably wouldn't have happened, though, right? The real question was how he'd gotten here when he'd been in a locked room at the time. Apparently the others were here as well. Were they all gathered here for something? Rumia's POVShe threw totally-existent darts at totally-existent photos of the Ultimates. Perfect. (AFTER MONOKUMA APPEARED) Omniscient POVLucian hurriedly grabbed a helmet, bracing himself. Just what crazy thing was their Headmaster forcing them into?! "Whoaaaa. So coooool!! I love the video!" Sawyer chirped with a smile, as Darcy shoved a helmet on their head before they could get their fool self killed. "This almost reminds me of something, but I can't quite recall what..." This was probably going to be fun! Darcy grabbed a helmet for himself as well. An alarmed Mika hurriedly grabbed his helmet. So, the bear WAS trying to kill them all?! Solaro hurriedly grabbed her helmet before anyone else could. "Oh, I don't LIKE this!!..." Lucian's eyes widened, and he began grabbing helmets rapidly, and putting them on those who hadn't put them on yet. He wasn't going to let any of them die!!! Even if he had to give up his own helmet, he couldn't let that happen! Sutaraitsu was worried about this, but... well... it couldn't be that bad, could it? He hoped his mostly useless talent would protect him. Rumia didn't get a helmet because she didn't need one, because she was a Youkai. But she silently prayed someone would forget to put theirs on, so she could eat them. [Read more] |
