He continued to lift out and drop the pellets into the tub.
"So, I found some codeine hidden away", he continued.

It was on the side of the ribs farthest from the heart, so there was no need for alarm.
"Nah", Andrew said with a reassuring smile.
He sat the tissue to one side and began working around the ribs with the tweezers, dropping pellets into the tub as he went.

(Don't worry about it, it happens.)

Andrew made a square shaped incision like the one before, he took out whatever tissue he could within the square shaped boundaries, however 2 ribs were in the way.

("What could be worse than this?" was in Andrew's head, it wasn't spoken aloud. We can just pretend it was though for the sake of this not being awkward, not trying to be rude but try and pay more attention to what comes after the speech marks.)

The needle was re-threaded, he sat it to the side and lifted the scalpel again with a laugh.
"Agreed", Andrew said, "Ready for part three?"

"What could be worse than this", Andrew thought to himself curiously.
Andrew tightened the stitches and snipped the thread from the needle, he began re-threading it again.

"Are you sure you don't want more more anesthetic before we start on the next shell?" Andrew asked.
"That is what it's there for", he said as he finished sowing the chunk of tissue back on.

Andrew continued to take the pellets out and drop them in the tub swiftly.
As he reached the last few he slowed up, having to be more accurate.

Andrew continued picking and dropping.
"So, what you planning to do after this is done?", He asked Jack.

Andrew sat the hunk of tissue to the side and began taking lots of little pellets out, putting them into tub.
Instead of searching around for them using the scalpel and a keen eye, he simply uncovered all of them at once.

Andrew then put the scalpel in to a diagonal angle and lifted a chunk of tissue out, there were some pellets in among it.
He picked them out with the tweezers and dropped them into the tub.

"Okay, right", Andrew replied.
Andrew re-threaded the needle and sat it aside.
He took the scalpel and made a square shaped incision.

"Well, there is a quicker option, but it would involve a little more stitches", Andrew offered.
He snipped the thread from the needle and tightened it slightly with his fingers.

"What?", Andrew asked as he sowed up the incision and dabbed up the blood with a cloth.

Andrew took out a needle and thread, the same one he used to stitch himself up so he didn't have to put the thread through the eye again.
He wiped the needle with a cloth several times before putting it into the skin next to the incision.

Andrew glanced over to Charlotte as she yawned, then looked back to the incision.
"Okay, there's no more in here, 2 more shells to unload though", he said.

"By the looks of things, it was nothing short of an 18 gauge, some kinda birdshot", Andrew explained.
"Must've been all they had, luckily, that explains all the pellets."

"We could talk about something while I get them out", Andrew offered, "I have no idea what though."
He continued to look around, lifting out pellets and dropping them into the tub.

"Only about 40", Andrew said, disappointed.
"They're unfortunately not biodegradable, meaning I'll have to get them all out, we're not even a slug down", he muttered.
