"Look, Magnolia..." Rhythe's voice softened in empathy--she didn't want to lose Eclipse, either. "We can... we can work this out, okay? Monty is good to us, and he trusts us. From what it seems, he just wants to keep her in his palace so he can watch after her. M-maybe we can arrange something so we can see her, o-or stay close to her. Silver and I aren't busy with too many missions, anyway."
Magnolia's sobbing stirred Eclipse, and the young girl mumbled under her breath at the sudden wake. "What's wrong, Maggie?" She murmured audibly, the sleep still in her voice.

"Y-yeah, I'll... I'll try to reassure her. She's a tad bit shaken, but I think she's taking into account Tony's current state." Spectrum's ears swiveled and she looked back slightly when Magnolia spoke, worried for Dark. Her nose twitched and she almost asked if she could come along, but refrained herself in fear that it was too personal. She had her own companion to worry about, anyway. She sighed and hung her head, leaping off the bench and padding back to Spectrum. She made sure to look both ways so that nobody could see her enter a different room.

Wither nodded curtly, stuffing all of her concerns and questions to the back of her mind and walking beside Magnolia to her room. She pulled the key out of her dress pocket and swung open the door, closing it back when Magnolia and Void walked in. Wither knocked her parasol away from the mirror, where it was leaning, and rested her hand on its surface. It rippled and her hand passed through, allowing it to become a transportation. She stepped to the side and nodded curtly at Magnolia to motion her to go first.

"Magnolia, I don't want to give her up either," Rhythe said softly, shaking her head. "But I don't believe we have a choice. Silver and I were sent here to collect her--she's got vampire blood in her, but he never told us who. He wants to take her in, as an apprentice sort thing." She sighed, clearly pained that she had to tell Magnolia this. "He's kind and his intentions aren't to harm her, but he's certainly not going to give her up."

She huffed and rubbed her temples, "I'm just glad she's not here to see this. She's so hopelessly in love with him, that must've killed her..." She looked at Tony and crossed her arms, not quite sure what to say. At this point, she wasn't even surprised that Aqua could carry him so effortlessly. "Are you going to bring him to the infirmary?" Wither asked, softer so that she could avoid the ears of the rebels around her.
Kaleidoscope slipped onto one of the chairs, Spectrum nowhere in sight. She blinked sharply upon seeing Aqua in her human form, her ears perking up in surprise. "Is he alright?" She asked softly after realizing that the two were calm.

Void began glowing violently as he leaped to his feet, his ears pinned back and his teeth bared. "She's fine," Wither said quickly, putting a hand on Void's head to calm him. His blazing eyes narrowed and flitted between Aqua, Tony, and Wither before he dipped his head slightly in a nod and sat back down, still glaring at Aqua. Wither's mind was now spinning and her thoughts were sliding on top of each other. She was speechless and very, very glad that Spectrum was not there to witness what had happened.
She looked at Aqua, who she had only seen in human form a couple of times, and took a deep breath. She's the second in charge, Wither reminded herself. Still, Wither wasn't quite sure if Aqua agreed with her. "I, uh... okay then. Should we... move him?"

"Jinx, for the last time, this is a terrible idea. Do you realize how dangerous it is to have such a young, defenseless girl around here? Much less a kid?" Rowan hissed, rubbing his temples. Jinx walked out from the kitchen, putting a cup of chamomile tea in front of him. It was his favorite and he knew that she made it just to calm him. She sat down, her hands wrapped around her own mug, and spoke calmly.
"I think it's a tad bit unfair to assume that Willow is defenseless. If it really worries you, she's a canine and they tend to have sturdier builds, but I doubt she'll ever be attacked in a place meant for healing. Your associations are the reason we're safe--the reason I'm safe, and the reason Willow will never be targeted. There's no need for us to be protected, but if it comes to that, I can hold my ground in a fight." She stirred her drink, knowing that he was too arrogant to admit that he was reassured.
"But you won't. You don't have the heart to hurt anyone," he rebutted, slumping back into his chair and crossing his arms.
"I don't see how that's relevant, but it's because I never need to." She crossed her legs and smiled at him, knowing that she had won the argument.

Rhythe smiled when she heard her friend giggle, in a way that was relieved and almost sane. In fact, she seemed saner than she had ever been in that moment. All was calm and her need to always be alert had halted. She sighed and looked away from Silver, her smile dropping. "You know that we have a different objective than you two, right?" Rhythe paused before adding, "We turned Eclipse for a reason. She's a special girl in more than one way. You know that, and so does Monty."
She seemed to be in melancholy when she looked at the young vampiress.

"Where'd you go?" Reign asked casually when Crysia sat next to him, his eyes narrowed slightly. There was always a lingering sense of fear that he would lose his cousin again. "Thought I heard something back there, but I guess I'm just paranoid." He nodded and they sat in silence, with neither of them having anything to say but Crysia staying so that she wouldn't have to go near Lucifer.

Venom's head perked up and he skittered over to Fallow, jumping on the couch and licking her arm in an attempt to reassure her. Robin smiled somberly at the beast, taking a deep breath before looking out the window. The heat had dragged on throughout the day and he couldn't imagine what it was like for the Darkness fantasies of the household and had certainly noticed Skye's irritability rising. He walked over to the window and fumbled with the curtain a bit before it went down, although all it seemed to do was mute the brightness and cast a golden hue on the room.
------
Marshall was preoccupied with the weather beast in front of him, who seemed comfortable if not tolerant of his presence. "Have you noticed how we haven't met any Beasts since we got here? Usually, they're drawn to us because of our powers or something." He peeled an orange and handed it to Tempest, who sniffed it before timidly taking it in his jaw and eating it. The creature, Marshall had noticed, moved incredibly slowly when left to his own will.
"I think he's been warding them off. For Fallow, maybe," Mavis added, looking over her shoulder. "We should get going. We've taken long enough, anyway."

"Go ahead. We've got an eternity before we get there." He said, pivoting slightly so that he could look at the window without disturbing her. Jack was surprised that she was still clinging to him but figured it was because he never had such a close friend, which he certainly wasn't bothered by.

"And then?" She blew out the match and put her arm out, sprinkling the ashes in between her thumb and forefinger. "A change of heart?" Rhythe smiled, fondly looking back on her relationship with Silver. She supposed that it was different in that she and Silver had been equally matched and just as stubborn, sometimes causing the destruction of entire cities in their fights.
-----------
Crysia huffed and grabbed her paralyzed arm in reaction, stumbling back. She had already realized this when Jackson had told her, deeming his warning as a useless statement in its obviousness. She was still, admittedly, stunned, but she knew that it would be best not to trigger a fight. Crimson's challenging gaze pierced into hers again, searching. "Ah, well. I suppose that's all I brought you out here to say." He turned his back, his hands clasped together comfortably in front of him, and walked off until he dispelled into the shadows. Crysia watched him leave, letting out a heavy breath and walking her way back to the group.

"Well, Mavis did mention how far away it is. I'm sure those particular three would have a hard time staying on task, too," Robin offered when he got up, but it seemed as if even he didn't believe it. So much had happened in the past that he could only assume the worst. The question had brought a cloud of worry that seemed to suffocate their thoughts, the silence of the room only broken by the anxious ticking of the clock. Fallow held her rabbit close to her stomach for reassurance and bit her lip, now overwhelmed with anxiety. It was getting worse for her.
"They'll probably be headed back now," Skye murmured, tucking her hair behind her ear and looking at the door. "I think half an hour or so and we should start looking for them." Her lips were pressed together into a thin line of worry.
Robin glanced at her from the side, hating her direct approach--he wanted so badly to not address the topic, but it seemed that Skye never played along.

"Okay," he said gently, his lopsided smile returning to reassure her, "I'll make sure to live up to it." He was still trying to grasp the fact that they had known each other for barely two days--they clicked, he supposed--and while he wasn't familiar with her, he was comfortable and trusting. People were still listening and he could tell by the way their ears rotated slightly towards them, but they seemed to be more sympathetic than judgemental or skeptical. They were in a war-trodden city bound by loss and misery, and in that moment Jack became forgiving of the citizens around him for what they had or hadn't done.

"They're untraceable, Tony, and most of the territory that we meander in is uncharted by both sides," she said, her eyebrows furrowed challengingly but her tone calm. "I've worked with the strategists to hack into their databases and record this specific airship as destroyed so I doubt they'll come after us." Wither stopped herself from throwing out names--so far she hadn't done as much as mentioned Magnolia's, not wanting to get her involved.
She broke gaze with him for a brief second to glance at Spectrum, who flinched when Tony yelled. Kaleidoscope pointed her muzzle at the ear of the angel and the two slipped out of the scene, Spectrum sinking back in what seemed to be fear. Wither was glad; she didn't want to let poor Spectrum see her lover in such a mood. What's worse is Magnolia is here to see me like this. Wither shoved the thought to the back of her brain--there were bigger matters at hand and her undefined relationship with Magnolia had nothing to do with it.
Wither didn't add anything else--she had the facts to back herself up but Tony was in an incredibly explosive mood and she didn't have the persuasive skills to make a full argument.

"It's weird, being in a cathedral," Rhythe said, sighing and looking at Magnolia. She quickly lit a match--the motion was so quick and familiar that it seemed like a blur of movement--and began to spin it in between her fingers, watching the flame dance. "I used to, uh..." She paused, not wanting mention details, "destroy places like these. It's what put me in the spotlight for the King. I remember that he tried to recruit me for his army, but then I ended up rebelling and destroying his cities too." She glanced over at Silver and smiled fondly at the memories of the two, most of which consisted of them on the battlefield. "Say, how did you and Shade meet?"
---------
He searched through her gold eyes and easily sensed a second presence, his lips curling into a smirk. The eyes narrowed and her cheek shifted as her jaw clenched. She wasn't angry that he had sensed Jackson's presence and seemed inwardly relieved that he had. She was confused and her barriers had risen, a common thing with Crysia that Crimson was able to realize within five seconds of meeting her.
"How are you able to tell?" She hissed, her pupils slitting. He didn't answer, only kept the faint smile on her face to taunt her. Crysia drew her weapon, pointing it at his neck. And then, softer, "What are you?"
"Vivalda wouldn't choose a weakling as her trophy--I supposed you and Jackson underestimate her caution. Don't you have bigger concerns, like your angsty ol' lover?" He said boldly, paralyzing her arm the moment he touched her hand and pointed the blade away.

"Ah, alright. See you around~" Adeline sang, kicking off of the wall and flipping so she could float on her back. "Get better!" Raven blurted enthusiastically, Rogue waving goodbye in the background. Rogue was taken off guard by the water droplets--he had been facing the other way when she shook--and perked up in surprise, the water in his hair freezing up into glimmering, perfect drops. He ran his hand through them to get them out, a faint smile on his face in amusement.

He wasn't quite sure how to respond, so he just nodded sympathetically and uttered a soft, "Ah." Raven looked over at Adeline, who still kept afloat by keeping her arms across the ridge of the pool. He tried to resist the urge to flick a bit of water at her, but she was too open and unguarded for him not to take the chance. She squeaked in surprise and spit out the water that had gone into her mouth, using her legs to splash a wave at him but not quick enough to catch him before he went under the surface, anticipating counterattack.
Rogue laughed and held his hands up, not wanting to be part of it. "Hey, didn't Allium say she would tag along?" He asked, glancing at the door. Adeline paused and looked over at him, squinting in thought. "Er, yeah. I think Wisty snatched her up, though."

Adeline chuckled softly, "That's adorable. They're both such kind souls, I'm sure they'd make a great couple if they ever get to it."
Raven only blinked, not quite sure how to respond--he did see love as a good thing, as did most Darkness dragons, but he still had trouble understanding how it was treated in the human world. "Do you have anyone special, Adriane?" He asked, his curiosity almost childish.

Rhythe perked up at a nearby rustle and rose to her tiptoes, prancing daintily across the beams until she was on the same one that Silver slept on. He was sitting with his chin tilted skywards and his arms crossed tensely. Rhythe sat down next to him, her legs swinging off the beam, and took his twitching hand. He gruffly mumbled in his sleep and she ran her thumb across his knuckles in reassurance, shushing him softly. His shifting stopped and she smiled at him, even though he was asleep.
-----------
Crysia's eyes fluttered open to the scintillating pockets of light shining through the leaves. Her entire body was sore from both injury and stress from the previous night and the minimal hours of sleep she had gotten that night wasn't helping. She gritted her teeth and tried to ignore her splitting headache, scanning the area only to find that it seemed normal. The twins were asleep sitting up, their heads rested against each other, and Scarlet was tending to Midnight. It didn't take her long to spot Lucifer in the distance and when she did she averted her gaze as quickly as possible.
She met Crimson's gaze instead, a knowing smile crawling up his lips. He stood up and gestured her forward. Crysia's teeth dug into her bottom lip and she followed him as he began to walk further away from the group, his strides slow as he watched the world around him. "Sleep well?" He asked coolly, his fangs adding eerieness to his smile. When she didn't answer, he continued.
"Full moons are always the most eventful, aren't they? I'd apologize for paying such close attention to personal matters, but... well, it's my job."
Crysia spoke through gritted teeth, "You usually don't make small talk."
He chuckled softly. "There's a shift in power. Right there." Crimson prodded at the area above her hip, where she had been branded. She instinctively stepped away from him, her patience thinning. "No normal vampire could sense that. What are you playing at, Crimson?"
"I have more tricks up my sleeve than you may realize. Although I would advise you to steer clear of your dear Queen while the strength of that imprint is dying down--your friends would hardly notice it, but with her power, it would be sensed the moment you step into her sight."

Adeline stretched her arms across the ridge of the pool so that she wouldn't have to tread the water. Adriane's words perplexed her--she wouldn't have guessed that she was lonely, with Matthew and Crystal by her side--but she stopped herself from saying anything when she saw the halfling shake her head. She wasn't one to drill, much less with someone she hardly knew.
"It didn't take much adjusting at all, actually. This is a real cozy place you got here. It's a nice change from where we were before." She smiled again and Raven gave a brief nod of agreement. "Say, does..." Adeline bit her lip for a second, racking her brain for the light halfling's name, "Wisty live here as well?"

Rhythe sat across the beams of the abandoned cathedral that the five had taken shelter in, her jaw clenched with irritability from the sunlight spilling onto the floors below them. She had offered to take watch, but the cathedral was far too bright, holy, and boring to her. Rhythe now regretted her actions.
Her eyes drifted over to Eclipse, whose face was serene and youthful in her sleep. Her breath was steady and she slept on Magnolia, the little raven resting on her slowly rising stomach.
-------
Crimson quietly sat underneath the shade of a tree, his violet eyes peaceful as he watched along. He didn't need to worry about Vivalda; she had checked on them the night before and probably wouldn't bother for another week or so. He idly began to spin a disc of dark aura in his fingers, his eyes drifting to Reign. Reign hadn't said a word since he'd threatened him, but there was lingering cynicism (and fear) coming from him. He huffed and switched his attention to the disc.
