	Shadedfur uncurled herself from the nest in the medicine cat den with a large yawn. After a long stretch she stepped out of the den and back into the camp. The poppy seeds had done their job and her rest had been very satisfying. The pain in her leg was brought down to a dull throb under the cobwebs. [Read more]

Shadedfur lifted her drowsy head with an irritated grumble. "You'd think it'd be quite in the medicine den." The black she-cat stood in the nest and arched her back high. Each leg was stretched out in turn and she stifled a hiss when she lifted the wrong leg. Her eyes never opened as she circled the nest before settling down in it once more. "Singing was alright though, keep doing that," she mewed before the poppy seeds brought her back into a light sleep.

She couldn't stop laughing. The bubble made Lucky release his grasp and land on the ground on all fours. As Aleena ran away the growlithe's roar echoed through the trees.

Lucky grew to level 16

"If you get tired of your crap trainer Staryu, I can take care of you!"

Her laughing died down and she eventually sat down to take Lucky into her arms. "I should scold you for that you know, but I'll let it slide this time."

Lucky's tail wagged and he jumped in excitement at the flickering light. It was so pretty! Though a low growl came from his throat at Aleena's words and close proximity.

The cigarette was held between two fingers as she drew in a long breath and let out a long puff of smoke in the girl's face. "Name's Fox, and I really wouldn't touch him if I were..." The moment Aleena's hands grasped his fur Lucky whirled around to sink his teeth into her arm in a powerful Bite attack. He'd bite down hard enough to draw blood if he could.

"It's not going to learn anything if you snap at it like that." Fox stepped up behind Aleena with Lucky and Orchid by her side. The puppy pokemon ran around the two girls to stand in front of the drooping Staryu. 'Grow, grooowl.' He sniffed at it, trying to cheer it up.

The Chikorita at her side eyed Aleena with distaste. "Grumbling about a pokemon's inexperience is the sign of a terrible trainer." The usual pack was pulled from her bag and the cancer stick was settled between her lips. Lucky didn't need instruction, sending an ember her way to light it up.

"We should probably head back to camp and heal up." Lucky fell into step beside his trainer as Fox walked along the path, headed towards the lake. "But catching a water type would really round out our team. Our first opponent has a growlithe too." The offended bark pulled a hearty laugh from the red head. "Of course you could beat it! But having a water type back up would be nice too you know."

Fox looked down at the pokeball in her hand. "And we need to come up with a name for our new partner. What about..." The button was pressed and the grass type starter was released. "Orchid?" The Chikorita looked up at her with harsh eyes and Fox crouched down. Her bag was pulled off and she pulled a few pokeblocks from a pouch to offer them.

Orchid stared at the open hand for a long moment before using its leaf to scoop one up and eat it. "Orchid it is."

When she looked up again she saw another camp goer walking by. She didn't care for the name but took note of the piplup. "Chikorita vs Piplup, that could be fun to watch."

Hours were spent training and her little portion of the forest was seared with Lucky's flames. Hawkins was panting softly but the fire type looked strong and ready to keep going. Lucky always was the more durable of the two and she'd have to keep that in mind during battle. "Alright, that's enough for today." The puppy pokemon barked and wagged his tail before running to Fox's side with obvious excitement while Hawkins collapsed on the ground dramatically.

Eevee grew to level 14!

"Alright drama queen, return." The red light of the pokeball flashed, touching the eevee and pulling it back into the safety of its ball. She clipped it to her belt and surveyed the damage. "Think we're in trouble Lucky?" Fox asked with a snort, looking at the scorched land, destroyed bushes and the single fallen tree.

As she turned to leave a noise caught her attention and her sharp eyes caught movement. A single large leaf was shifting back and forth over one of the remaining intact bushes. "Odd," she murmured, walking towards it. Just before she reached the bush a pokemon leaped out at her with an angry cry. Fox lifted her arms to protect her face as vines lashed out at her. 'Chika!'

Lucky rounded on the grass type. Even after the long training the growlithe had a lot of energy, jumping to bite the other pokemon's leaf to stop the attack. With the time given Fox lowered her arms and took two jumps back. "A Chikorita. We must have burnt up its territory." Lucky was tossed to the side and the red head got a good look at it. A scar ran along the Chikorita's right eye and anger flashed in the eyes of a usually much sweeter species.

"Alright Lucky, battle ready! Ember!" Flames burst from the canine's maw only to miss, the grass type hitting the ground with its vines to propel itself into the air and throw out another attack.

"Quick, bite!" As the vines reached Lucky he bit down hard into them. The grass type cried out in pain as it was swung into the ground, hard. It bounced several times before Fox pulled an empty pokeball from her belt. "Alright Chikorita, you're mine." The ball flew and hit its target. It shook several times before falling still.

Lucky let out a victory howl and Fox picked up the ball. "Our first catch, and it's a good one."

Chikorita, female, the Leaf Pokemon. A sweet aroma gently wafts from the leaf on its head. It is docile and loves to soak up sunrays. Level 8, Ability: Overgrow. Moveset: Tackle, Growl, Vinewhip, Razorleaf

"This one didn't live up to its 'dex entry did it. What should I name you..."

While the apprentice left to get the supplies Rosepetal waddled over to the fresh kill pile. Not much there unfortunately, but with all the commotion of the day it wasn't surprising. She pulled out two mice and carried them back near the nursery. The sun was warm and Rosepetal laid out to let it sooth her bulging belly.

In the medicine den Shadedfur was still snoozing with the occasional snore.

"Well, if you insist. Thank you Streampaw." With a bit of effort she stepped out of the nest. "If you could just take out the broken bracken and fill in the spots with soft moss I would really appreciate it. And if you could ask Firelight for something for my sore pads that would be nice."

Rosepetal purred softly. "We can take the nest outside to air out and share a bit of fresh kill. I could tell you about my first day as an apprentice." The queen seemed more than happy. Other than Shadedfur she hadn't gotten many visitors in the past few days and to have a peppy young cat to share tongues with would just be delightful.

"Oh but the best adventures start out wild, don't they?" Her ears perked at the question and she shook her head. "I just haven't had the energy to change my bedding in a while. It's just a little prickly, nothing to really worry about."

"But maybe a bit of fresh moss would be nice... Or some lovely bird feathers. Though I don't want to be a bother. I'm sure every one has more important things to do than worry about little ol' me."

Rosepetal perked her head up when the apprentice stepped into the nursery. "Streampaw," she purred sweetly. "You must be so proud, when I first became a 'paw I was nearly chasing my tail with delight."

"Ooo, ouch," she murmured, shifting to one side of her nest to avoid an old bit of bracken. "How can I help you little one?"
