Sunkit changed allegiances and tackled her brother, gently nipping at his tail. " She-cats against toms!," she mewed, as she rolled over with Bramblekit.

Duskwind chuckled. Nothing makes you forget death and exile than the blissful sight of happy kits...Duskwind pondered, startled by his own dark humor. He sighed heavily, continuing to watch.

Dawnpelt waited for Icestar to walk back into the Pineclan camp before rounding on Duskwind. " I know you're upset, " she meowed, her words tense. " But this situation is very delicate. This clan just accepted us into their territory, and you want to shock them with the death of one of their own?," she hissed at her last words. Duskwind narrowed his eyes at Dawnpelt, but said nothing. He looked away, seemingly at a loss for words. Dawnpelt flicked her tail, " Look, I...", she started, her voice softening, but Duskwind walked away before she could continue. Dawnpelt's ears drooped slightly, wishing she could say the right words.

The words caught in Duskwind's throat as he saw the small kit appear in the Pineclan camp entrance. She looks just like her..., he thought painfully to himself, the anger in his face suddenly replaced with grief.

Dawnpelt looked from Duskwind to Icestar, a pained expression on her face. " She came to our territory yesterday morning...," she began, but hesitated as she glanced at the small kit by Icestar's side. " We should speak privately about the matter, " Dawnpelt mewed softly.
