"Okay!" Anne said, her jubilance bringing a youthful look to her pale face. She and Wither walked out of the door, Wither waving curtly to Alexander and Konani (who was still half-asleep) before Anne stopped in her tracks and gasped in surprise. "What is it?" Wither perked up with alertness, whipping her gaze around the hallway.
Anne ignored her. She walked up to Void, still baffled as to how she hadn't noticed him, and introduced herself happily. He gave her a lopsided smile, "You're energetic, aren't you? I'm Void. It's nice to meet you."
She beamed and happily skipped away, navigating her way to the airship. Void glanced over at Wither and waited for her to say something.
"Let's... go check on Tony and Aqua."
"The one that yelled at you?"
"Yeah. He's a good guy, promise. He's just screwed up after one of the recent attacks." She tugged at his sleeve lightly so that he would walk with her, slowly pointing out the landmarks of the base as they walked by.

He didn't answer the question, Evie thought, too suspicious for her own good. No. He's telling the truth. The only reason he would withhold is if he was guilty of killing someone before. Instead, she just nodded and mumbled a soft "I see." She thanked her once again for the pillow, wedging it in between her upper arm and her head. She put her glasses in her messenger bag and silently slipped out a pistol, stuffing it under her pillow so that she wouldn't alarm Oliver.

"Oh, right. Sorry." Anne sat back down, still beaming at Wither. Void leaned against the doorway, waving hello to all of the strangers but taking the role of Wither's shadow like he preferred to. Wither didn't mind--the company was nice for the most part. She took a glance of interest at Alexander's woodwork, vaguely remembering his face in the mess halls but never remembering any conversations they may or may not have had.
"So what is it that you need?" Anne chirped, fixing her posture. Before Wither could answer, she interrupted, "Oh, wait! I know. I heard a few angels talking about a giant demon airship as they walked by. You're responsible, aren't you?" Her grin was mischevious.
"Yeeah." She looked over at Anne, knowing that the demon was too curious for her own good. "We've, uh... been talking about a move for a while. Tony and I are still discussing the logistics and technical stuff and whatnot, but as of now we don't have a guard, so--"
"Oh, guard sounds so fun! Alexander, do you and Konani want to guard with me?" She brimmed with excitement, looking over at Konani. "Does that mean we get to explore?"
Wither laughed. "Sure."

Elliot smiled at her and pulled the corners of the blanket to his chest, happily trapping himself in the warmth of it. "Sleep well," he chirped almost melodically, adjusting himself so that he could grab his weapon quickly if he needed to.

Evie opened her mouth to say something but was speechless for a few seconds because of surprise. "Thank you," she managed to say, glad that it was dark enough to cover her blush. She pulled the quilt closer to herself. "I didn't realize there was a dress code to death games." She smiled softly--the remark was more of a joke than a sarcastic jab at him--and settled down so that she could lay on her back and look at the star-ridden sky behind the tree leaves. It was calming, almost, and it directed her thoughts away from what she was afraid of. She sat in silence for a moment before turning to Oliver. Evie was still skeptical about him, and she couldn't help it. "Have you ever killed anyone?" She asked, her tone firm and steady so that she didn't show vulnerability.

"Then why are you crying?" She said softly, still trying to shake off the sleep. Eclipse put a hand out to touch Magnolia's cheek as if to check if it was damp, her own eyes hazy and squinted. She turned her head and searched the room, seeing Rhythe on her beam with her hands steadied beside her and her legs dangling. Rhythe smiled--she was able to cover up her pain in a second--and made sure that she kept Eclipse's attention away from Magnolia.
"Everything's fine. Go back to sleep, okay? We're taking a long journey when you wake, and you certainly won't want to be tired for that. The scenery is beautiful, I promise."
Eclipse mumbled something under her breath but cuddled back up to Magnolia and closed her eyes, succumbing to the pull of sleep. Rhythe only looked up at Magnolia with what seemed to be pity, knowing how much she would hate to be seen crying in front of the child.
"I'll speak to Monty, make sure we at least get a room in the castle to stay in so we're sure we can be close to her. If not, he trusts Silver enough; we won't lose her." She said certainly, her tone firm.

Wisty figured that she didn't need anything except the hairband that was already on her wrist (although she couldn't remember if it was hers or Crystal's) and Allium didn't have much to take. They both waited until Crystal had gotten everything to leave the house, Wisty brimming with energy and excitement.

When they arrived at the base, Wither turned back to Magnolia offered a small smile. "We're going to go find someone to guard the ship, yeah?" Her eyes flicked to Dark and her brow creased with worry, clearly pained to leave him behind even when he seemed to be doing a lot better. She'd grown attached to the malicious companion, hotheadedness and all. Void waved at them and turned to walk after Wither.

"She's not here," Wither frowned at the cabin door. Her frustration was clear but she kept that mask of maturity on, not letting it get the best of her. "Ah, well. I'll open a portal," Void said happily, an orange spark flickering on his outstretched finger. He made an oval shape and stretched it out so that it was about his height, being more than a foot taller than Wither.
"I'm not sure about this. I wouldn't want to invade her privacy, much less walk into the cabin of somebody I don't know." Void cocked his head, "You said you were close to that weird leader dude, right? Doesn't that mean everyone knows you or something?"
"That doesn't mean I can walk into someone's cabin, that's an invasion of privac--" As she was speaking, he put a hand on her back and pushed her into the portal. He stepped through, whistling, and closed it behind him.
Wither cussed, not very softly, and regained her balance as she looked around. "Hey, Anne," she said, spotting the demon. "Er... Hello. I'm terribly sorry for walking in like this," Wither then said quickly to the two other people in the room, inhaling sharply. Anne's face brightened, however, and she stood to greet her friend.

"Of course! Wisty whispered, not wanting to make Allium feel like she was being directly excluded. "That's special," she added lightly before turning to Allium. "Matthew'll be back by the time we get home, promise," she teased, motioning for the halfling to stand. "C'mon!"
Allium flushed and stood, ruffling her hair in an attempt to act like she was normal. "Alright, alright," she laughed softly, smiling in good spirit of Wisty's teasing.

Wither stifled a giggle and smiled at Dark, her hands clasped comfortably in front of her. Her smile radiated poise when compared to Dark's--although it always looked like that--but it was clear that she was incredibly relieved. "You look great," she told him as she walked over to Void. She put a light hand on his arm and motioned him forward, slipping a bit in front of Dark and Magnolia so that the two walked ahead of them. "We should get going, yeah? It'd be best to find a guard as soon as possible." She tugged Void a bit ahead again to indicate that she wanted to talk to him, and he casually put his arm over her shoulders (much to her dismay).
"I didn't know you had a human form," Wither said lightly, in a friendly way.
"Er... yes. I didn't want to tell Dark because he was so... y'know... but I don't use it. It's terrible. I hate it. It's so hard to use." He yawned and Wither was able to see the lazy creature behind his human-ness.
"That's perfectly fine. So, Void... What exactly are your plans? Are you going to stay around here?" She asked, but he only shrugged.

"You doing better?" Wither asked softly when she entered the room, Void looking briefly at her to acknowledge her. Her gaze lingered on him for a while, as if searching for the same features he would have in his other form, and took into account how much stranger it would be for Magnolia, who had known Dark for much longer.

Wither popped to her feet and paused thoughtfully before nodding. "Yeah, I have someone for the job." She walked out of the door but waited for Magnolia to keep going, brushing her hands through her hair briefly.

Wither chuckled softly. "That's... adorable. How much do you think it would take to set them up? A double date, maybe?" She said jokingly, her golden eyes sparkling. She put her hands behind her so that she could lean back, still looking around the cabin. It was clearly for one of the low-level demons and it was small, but still quite comfy. Much more so than the gray colors that they had in the underground base; she could imagine how nice the rooms were for the higher levels.
"Do you want to go back to Dark or do you want to just hide for a while? Void's with him, so I didn't leave him entirely alone."

"Yeah. It'll take some time for both of you, but I'm sure you'll be perfectly fine. You two make quite the team." She offered a smile, her shoulders releasing a bit of tension. Wither paused and looked around at the cabin before asking, "How old is Dark, anyway?"

"Cry-stie," Wisteria whined, putting her cheek on the bed and puffing up her cheeks. "You're doing that thing again, where you're being introverted. Isn't it exciting to get to know people?" She only let Crystal have about two seconds to process before bolting to her feet and beaming. "How about we show Allium around the forest? Some of the landscapes and stuff like that." Allium looked up with interest and Wisteria fondly remembered the times that she and Crystal would explore the forests.

Wither strode over and half-sat on the end of the bed, crossing her legs and looking at Magnolia. "Of course. Too much has been going on, and losing you certainly wouldn't be better." She took a deep breath and her eyes became concerned and softened. "Are you doing alright? I'm worried," Wither said, hugging her elbows close to her chest.

It took Wither a while to look through the rooms, but she finally found Magnolia face-down in an empty cabin. She tapped the door lightly with her knuckles, leaning on the doorframe and waiting for her permission to enter. She was silent for a while, not quite sure what to say, but settled with a simple, "Do you mind if I come in?"

"Are you going to look for her?" Void asked, already knowing the answer. His ears pinned back and he leaned against the wall, his arms crossed. Wither sighed and rubbed her upper arm, looking over her shoulder and down the hall. "Yeah. But I don't want to leave Dark alone. Can you... stay with him for me? And tell me if anything's wrong?" Her face was wrinkled in worry but seemed to relax a bit when Void nodded.
As she walked down the hall, making sure that her footsteps could be heard so she didn't startle Magnolia if she found her, Void spoke. "What if she wants to be alone? Otherwise, she wouldn't have left." He added a quick, "Obviously," under his breath.
Wither looked over her shoulder and shrugged at him. "Then I'll leave her alone, I guess." She kept walking and Void hung his head in contemplation.

"Most aren't born with the ability, but there's... no reason to be afraid. It takes a lot of getting used to, but it's quite alright." He stood and turned to the door. "I'll be able to, uh, let you try to get dressed. Most of that is loose so you don't have to deal with buttons and tying and stuff." Void exited the room and when Wither stepped out she closed the door softly behind her, looking around the hall. "Where'd Magnolia go?" She mumbled, looking around.

Void stepped through the portal again and it closed quickly behind him. In his human form, he lumbered over both Magnolia and Wither but seemed confident enough in his movements that they didn't seem robotic or stiff. He crouched onto his haunches and in front of Dark, offering him the pile of dark-colored clothes in his arms. His face was reassuring and soft, but his constantly glowing eyes were always unsettling to any emotion that was plastered on his face. It was the most prominent feature, and to most it was intimidating.
"Most creatures consider it a gift, having a human form. With companions, even more so. It takes quite a bit of getting used to, and I'm not even able to move as swiftly or confidently as Aqua with years of practice, but it's quite a nice feat to have once you get used to it." He offered Dark a smile and turned around to look at Wither, who was trying her best not to stare at him in shock.

"Go," she urged her companion, impatient in her worry, "I have to hold it open for you to go through. Only works with my touch." Void silently glanced into her eyes and leaped through the mirror, his features illuminating as they entered. He padded to Magnolia and tilted his head so that he could see Dark underneath the console, his features squeezing in thought. Wither stepped through the mirror, her parasol at ready, but lowered it upon seeing Magnolia kneeling. Her blush confused Wither and she mumbled a soft "What's going on?" before kneeling too. Her facial expression was washed away and replaced with surprise.
"Has... this happened before?" She asked, her head turning slightly when she saw Void leap through an orange-rimmed portal.
