Aleks turned away, with a click of his tongue.

"....Sure. Whatever you want."

he fell silent, no trace of his grin.

He. rushed breezily past Adrik, walkingdown the street. he glanced back.

"...hurry up."

"You do know me, Adrik. And I know this isn't a game. And sh*t, kid, tell me, do you really hate me? Cause I don't think you really do!"

Aleks sighed, letting go of Adrik.

"If you really hate me so much, then I'll stop! But, kid, c'mon! I didn't leave because of you or Iliya. I hated that place! I hated it as much as you do right now! is it fair to blame me for leaving?"

He shoved his hands in his pockets.

"I want to be your brother! I would've gone back to get you kids but I had problems too! What, do you resent me for leaving you there? Or do you resent me because I'm good at doing what I do?"

He instead gripped harder, a sort of coldness flickering over his expression for a moment.

"Hey, kid. Calm down."

He mutered.

"People are watching. Don't make a scene."

--

"Y-yep! Leaving! Mhm! Let's g-go!"

Iliya laughed nervously, letting himself be dragged outside by Lydia his big sister

"Hey! Can you both be quiet?"

Seraphina sighed, physically forcing the two away from each other.

"Why are you two even fighting?"

"Oh, geez. That's... something."

Lydia chuckled quietly, hands in her pockets.

She clicked her tongue.

"Geez. That's creepy, huh, Iliya?"

Iliya gulped.

"Y-yep! C-creepy..."

--

Aleksandr grabbed Adrik by the collar, humming softly.

"The hell y'think you're doin', kid?"

He chuckled, rubbing his gut.

"Geez. Hard elbow. But I've been hit with worse."

"I suppose she could be controlled. I don't really know."

He chcukled, shrugging.

--

"Calm down! Stop fighting!"

Seraphina waved her hands, trying to break up this argument.

"Ah, you do? What a shame. That floor has one of my favorite hidden pieces."

he chuckled.

"Seraphina Michael Weiss... she's a former police officer. Got knocked off the team after she 'killed' the murderer of her best friend. It's a complicated story. There was also a cave in and an explosion, that killed her other best friend. It's a wild story."

"You brought a good one, though. Seraphina Michael Weiss, subject of the 20th floor... What a tragic story."

He chuckled.

"The berserker. I like her style."

"Do whatever you want, Alaire. Who am I to control you?"

he chuckled, turning around as he walked, facing her, walking backwards, a bit of a swagger in his walk.

He grinned.

"We're back home."

--

Seraphina put a fist to her mouth, feeling nauseous.

"God, that is- awful..."

"Really? Huh. Neat-o!"

LYdia laughed cheerfully, hands on her hips.

"A big robbery, huh? That's nice, that's nice."

Lydia patted Niwa on the back(more like slapped, really), before moving over to Iliya, ruffling his hair.

"Awe, lookit you, all grown up are we Iliya? Kendo asked where you were a bit ago. We visited your dad, y'know?"

Iliya gulped.

"...y-you did?"

--

"Detective shmectective, what-ever, Adrik."

He chuckled.

"Sorry, sorry. Can't resist. Y'know I love you, kiddo."

He ruffled Adrik's hair.

Aleksandr Volkov

The stroll through the deserted city was long and winding and desolate. Most people were fast asleep, dreaming of their weapons and guns and such.

He sighed softly, shoulders slumping.

The man continued walking through, the only sounds being his footsteps and the half-asleep greetings of the shopkeepers and workers getting ready for the day.

The day.
The reaping.

Aleksandr made it to the town square, quietly taking a seat on a nearby bench.

Sixteen. That was how many minutes it took for him to walk all this way.

so that meant two hours and fourty-four minutes to wait.

Fourty-four was also the number of individual parts were slapped together to form this bench- perfectly carved stones and bent metal and whatnot.

He sighed.

"....163."

Seraphina Weiss

Humming quietly, Seraphina briskly walked through town, the bustling atmosphere never failing to lift her move. As she walked on through, there were greetings shouted out to her, and she responded to each one in kind, with a bright smile and a cheery wave.

She reached down, adjusting her axe slightly- it had been hooked to her belt- and continued along her way.

She hummed as she skipped along her way, a bounce in her step per usual.

Reaping day.

Reaping day.

How utterly exciting!

She giggled maniacally to herself, clapping her hands together.

A break from the monotony! She couldn't be any more elated.

Her favorite day of the year, watching the chosen be dragged off, screaming and kicking...

She sighed melodramatically, the confused gazes on her disappearing when they realized who it was.

"It's just the Weiss girl."

Aleksandr Volkov
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
His palms were sweaty, knees weak, arms were heavy. or something like that.

The pasty-white, dirty-blonde-haired boy sighed, staring down at his little brother, Iliya Volkov, who was sleeping peacefully.

The crack of dawn, it was, and nobody in the house was awake. Not his 11-year old little brother, nor his 6 year old little sister. Not his stepmother, nor his damned father.

It was peaceful. The last of these moemnts, he guessed.

Something felt wrong. Very wrong. His sixth sense(the Volkov Sense tm) was going off, way too fast.

He had a bad feeeling about the reaping.

He sighed, as he trekked back to his room, pulling on a black hoodie.

"Alright. let's get this over with."

he muttered quietly.

he walked down to the kitchen, spreading jam upon a piece of toast, before exiting the house, silently.
Seraphina Weiss
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She awoke with a start, messy locks of purple hair flying in all directions as she sat up in bed.

She stared at the wall opposite her, before sliding out of bed.

She hummed softly, pulling on a jacket and tying up her hair, staring at the cracked mirror.

"...Looking good as ever, Sera!"

She clicked her tongue, shooting finger guns at herself, keeping the wide grin for a moment, before dropping the smile, sighing tiredly.

"Let's get going for the day, Sera."

She muttered quietly.

Amongst the sparse group taht remained after the slaughter that was the first trial, there were some who were very obviously Important, from the way Miyasaki's gaze fell upon them. A man with light brown, standing tall and straight, a black suit splattered with blood, knuckle dusters gripped tightly. A blonde teen- maybe 19?- stood beside the man, hands shaking, a camera hung around his neck. two people, one a boy with blue hair, and the other a relatively short girl with bright pink hair.

And his gaze fell upon one last person, a girl with long, black hair, and bright red eyes, clearly shaken, hands shaking around the hammer in her hands.

Miyasaki stared at the gates, sighing.

Wordlessly, he moved through the gates.

[Player Miyasaki has entered the [Starting Village]!]
[Congratulations, you are the [1st] person to enter!]
[1 free stat point has been given.]

[You scored the highest in the previous trial!]
[3 free stat points have been given.]

--

Seraphina calmed down after a moment, getting back to her feet, back straight, smile tight.

"O-okay. I'm good now."

"Thank you... Dee..."

The angel clapped cheerfully, before snapping.

Suddenly, the terrain changed, swirling and shifting.

and they landed outside the gates of a'village', which looked more like a sprawling, expansive city.

Seraphina proceeded to double over and dry heave.

"yeah. little bit hard on the stomach."

Miyasaki shrugged.

Without waiting for an answer, the creature laughed.

"Of course! Anyways, I see we have a few special ones!"

Flickering out of existence for a moment, the angel reappeared next to Miyasaki, smiling brightly.

"The Monarch of Death himself, what a pleasure!"

Miyasaki swung his baseball bat, but the creature simply blinked back into its positon in the sky.

"Are you guys ready? We're going into the starting village, now! A little bit of peace for ye weary travellers, yeah?"

[April 22nd, 2009]

"Mom! Mom, where'd you go?"

A young boy stepped out of the crumbling building that had been used as shelter the previous night. A bandanna was tightly wrapped around his mouth and nose.

The boy hated silence.

"Mom! C'mon, mom, this isn't funny! We need to move!"

And the deathly silence engulfed him once more. He tapped his bat against the ground, desperation growing.

And then he heard it.

Footsteps, tap, tap, tapping against the asphalt.

"Mom! Mom you're b-"

The words died on his tongue, as he turned to face a creature that most definitely wasn't his mum.

But it was, at the same time. The light brown hair, cascading to its shoulders, the silver necklace hanging around its' neck.

And it lunged towards him.

In an instant, the bat came flying up, up at the disgusting thing's jaw, sending it flying backwards with a nasty crack.

He pulled his pistol out, and shot it three times in the head.

--

[Present Day]
The soft clinks of a bat tapping against the floor were rhythmic, sounding out every few seconds. He kept his gaze firmly planted to the ground, arms resting limply at his side, his head resting against the wall.

Tap.

Tap.

His wrist moved slightly, every time he brought the bat down on the floor, gently. the rhythmic sound was constant, quiet yet constant, enough to drive those listening insane. But he quite liked it.

There was no point in reminiscing, in this moment of peace he had. He had no life before the outbreak. he had been a child. His mother had protected him well enough for years, but... well.

His hands had a lot of blood staining them, an amount he wasn't sure if he could ever wash off.

He shifted uncomfortably, blue eyes opening slowly.

"...bothersome."

He muttered softly, sighing.

"Chock full of trauma are we merry few."

And then, just on cue, the angel reappeared, flickering into existence almost unnoticeably.

The angel unfurled its many, many wings, peering down at the corpse- ridden field, a wide smile across its' face.

He cleared his throat, before speaking, his voice ringing in the heads of each and every persn.

"Hello, hello! I seems you've completed the first trial eh?"

"..."

Miyasaki's cold facade was back up now, hands in his pockets , quietly.

"Humans are easier to kill."

he nodded quietly.

"Anyways."

he turned to AC, enough to look her in the eyes.

"From my calculations, we wait. Just a minute or two."
"Yeah, i get it. I had a friend like that too, ran away from her past. No need to explain yourself to me."

Seraphina smiled cheerfully.
