After a few minutes of getting lost and trying to navigate their way through the forest, Wisty finally managed to lead them to the waterfall. "It's beautiful," Allium gushed, taking a moment to inspect the scenery. She was beaming and seeing her so happy brought a smile to Wisty, who stood close to Crystal.

"Y-yeah, you're right," Jack mumbled, a bit anxious now that she brought it up. He didn't know the area at all, now that he thought about it, and he was now worried that they would lead themselves to danger or death. He stumbled a bit when he sneaker got caught on the stairs and curled his tail tightly around his leg, now paying close attention to where he was walking instead of Crystal.
------
He's so cute, she thought to herself, stroking him delicately. Her ear twitched at the sound of his cooing but quickly realized that they were affectionate.

Kaleidoscope swished her tail as she skimmed the mess hall, quite comfortable in all of its chatter and ruckus. She picked up on the gossip of a few tables and realized that their attention was elsewhere and curiously searched for the center of attention, her eyes laying on Magnolia and a strange male. "Hey, did Magnolia meet a--" realization struck her face and she chirped in surprise, double-checking for similar features and recognizing Dark in the human. He was visibly uncomfortable and her heart broke a little at Dark's rare moment of vulnerability.

Evie nodded--this answered most of her questions, and she felt less cynical because of it. "They tested with animal mutations, too," she sighed, reminded of a defect mutant creature that a friend of hers had kept. Evie scanned the area wistfully and looked back at Dexter, still a bit distracted by his eyes. "This place. Do you have any idea where they would have set the boundaries and how big it is?"

"Oh, uh, yeah. It allows you to speak with others from long distances. It's more popular with the Nova, though, since our government taps in on our conversations. The popularity has died down, especially when rumors of tracking devices were spread. That was a solid... decade ago?" Evie replied. Elli listened closely, quite fascinated with the perspective of a Lux; he had never actually spoken to one before this.
"We started the revolution or whatever of inventing when we were in a peace pact with the Nova, so they worked together to make practical inventions that benefitted the citizens. Like cell phones and stuff. After that, a Nova general was murdered--of course, they told us he committed suicide--by a Lux and the war burst into flames again. Ever since that, the Lux have focused their creations on machinery and weapon-related things." She rubbed the back of her neck as she spoke, her resentment for her country seeping into her tone.
"The Novas made an effort to catch up, but they were pretty desperate and made risky calls," Elli said softly, knocking his knuckles together. "I suppose I'm evidence of this."

Elli blinked sharply when Dexter pointed at him, cocking his head questionably as if he were trying to read the Nova. "Alrighty," he said, more singsong than grim. "I'll stay with Ivy to be there when she wakes up," he added quickly so he didn't have to feel like he was a deadweight to the group.
Evie said nothing, standing beside Elli and waving slightly when Dexter looked over at them. She could see the anguish on his face when he turned--his disgust was strong enough to let it seep through--but had nothing to say about it. She was arguably angrier than him since she was one of the teenagers forced to participate in the mini-war.

Evie sighed and rubbed her eyes before putting her glasses back on, still trying to internalize reality. She hooked the pistol underneath her pillow to her belt--if she was being spied on at any point of the day, she wanted them to know that she was armed--and pulled her backpack closer to her.
"You... didn't sleep," she said to Elli, although her attention was directed on his knuckles. When he moved his fingers it seemed perfectly functional and normal, and he seemed to have feeling in them, but his knuckles were brass and quite alarming. The machinery was strange to Evie. Usually, modifications like that were used for amputees, but in Elli's case...
"It's kinda like an improvement, actually. I'm kind of weak, so it helps my punches hit harder."
Evie nodded. "You don't seem like the fighting type."
He only laughed. "I'm not, but I guess I have the skills to be if I wanted." He smiled at her and Evie hesitated before smiling back, standing up and brushing herself off. Elli walked towards Oliver and Dexter and motioned her to follow.

He mumbled was a soft agreement, although it meant a lot more to him than he showed. He meekly let her weave them through the crowd, all the while scanning the faces of the people. Jack's eyes locked with the scarred face of a female wolf, and he quickly dipped his head to break it.
-----
Silver flinched and raised her hand to prepare for an attack of some sort, but stopped the motion when she realized it wasn't harmful. She only laughed softly and scooped the creature up in her hands. "Hi, there. You must be Plum." She smiled.

Jack shuddered and looked into her eyes, taking slow breaths until his hands stopped trembling. He'd never felt such rush or imminent death in a crowd--probably because he stayed away from them--and was glad that Crystal was there to reassure him. We're both... incredibly unstable, he thought to himself wondering whether or not it was a good thing. "Okay," he mumbled, wiping his face and smiling softly at her. "I'm good. It should be that one." Jack pointed at the sign with a large five on it, with an arrow that pointed up the stairs.
-------
"O-oh, alright," Silver said, her tail flicking as she handed him the container. She watched as he left the room and made sure to look before she sat on the couch, taking in the details of the room. It was cozy and she quite liked the decoration, which only made her appreciate Mango's style. She sighed and stretched her hands forward, resting them tensely on her knees. The more she found herself liking Mango the harder it was for her to be there, but she had made a decision and she was going to follow through with it.

The doors open and Jack fought against the tide of people pooling into the Skyway to get out. The number of bodies he brushed against made him flinch and it felt as if he was suffocating being in such a crowd, but the only thing keeping him from immediately running far away was the fear that he would lose Crystal. He clung close to her and when they were away from the crowd he leaned to her ear and whispered, "It's a sketchy station. I think it's best that we get out of here as soon as we can." He craned his head up to look at the signs, a bit frantic.
------
"Hi," she said, perking up when he opened the door. She had distracted herself while she was looking around and she quickly brushed her hair behind her ear, smiling softly. "Ah, shoot. I believe you're right." Her tail swished in amusement. "It's Silver. Silver Kaya. I, uh... I also brought food." Silver entered and slipped her shoes off where the rest of the shoes were, glancing around curiously. Her eyes were wistful and she seemed to be regretting something, but she quickly changed her expression so that she wouldn't worry him.

"Oh, tea sounds good," Kaleidoscope cooed, perfectly fine with being carried as long as it meant tea. Spectrum had needed some time alone, anyway (and it was something to keep her from worrying about her companion).

(Time-skip to morning~~)
Jack stood up from the seat, his legs aching from hours of sitting. "C'mon," he mumbled, slipping his way to the doors of the Skyway with more focus on his balance, "I think we just have to transfer to the... Northward one?" He looked at Crystal and waited for her before speaking again
------
Silver puffed her cheeks and took a breath before ringing the doorbell to Mango's home, cradling a container in her arms. She tilted back and forth on her feet, rubbing the back of her neck with her free hand and looked around the area as she waited.
---------
"Rowan," Jinx called out lightly, an amused smile on her face as she sorted the jars on a cabinet. "I can hear you leaving. Aren't you going to stay around and get to know Willow better?" There was a huff and she turned around to look at him. His hands were in his pockets and his dark hair was a frizzy mess.
"I have stuff to handle," he said boldly, to which Jinx chuckled.
"No, you don't. Sit down--relax." She continued to sort, humming softly.

Kaleidoscope squeaked in surprise, her whiskers twitching in amusement when she realized it was just Aqua. "Taking advantage of your human form, I see," she mused. "And where are you planning to go?"

"Ah, I came at a bad time. I'll let you rest... get better, alright?" Kaleidoscope said, rising. She didn't seem to question Tony's health though--she was quite sure that he was completely fine. She needed to be, to balance out Spectrum's constant worrying. She nodded curtly at Aqua and leaped off of the bed, her movements smooth and snake-like as she weaved herself back out of the infirmary. She stopped when she saw Wither in the hall and took a moment to realize that Void was with her.
"He's asleep," Kaleidoscope told her.
"Oh. Is he okay?"
"Of course. Although I don't think it would be best to visit him anytime soon... I understand that he was in a bad condition, but there's still anger in what he said. To be blunt, seeing you might stress him out a bit."
Wither bit her lip and nodded. It had clearly been on her mind, but she was overcome by the need to check on him to make sure he was safe. "Yeah, alright. How's Spectrum?"
"Perfectly fine," Kaleidoscope said quickly, padding away so that Wither wouldn't question further.

Kaleidoscope slipped past a nurse and easily made her way to the bed that Tony and Aqua were by. She leaped onto the foot of the bed and sat with her tail curled neatly around her paws, her strange eyes glimmering with concern. He seemed tired and she felt like it was the wrong time to come, but Spectrum had insisted.
"How are you feeling?" She asked, her whiskers twitching. She refrained from mentioning Spectrum's name.

Evie woke up in a violent jerk, sitting upright and clutching her chest tightly as if it would rid of the knot in her throat. She breathed heavily, sweat beads forming on her temples and her heart racing far too fast. Her unconscious mind was never nice to her--the memories that she always wanted to suppress would forever haunt her, and so she sat there for a few seconds, her back hunched, as she tried to steady her breathing. It was barely daylight. The colors in the sky had formed but the actual light was yet to be unveiled, the birds lightly chirping in the distance.
Elli shifted from the cave and kneeled down beside Evie, his eyebrows knitted in concern. Her offered her a half-empty bottle of water and she took it gratefully, only allowing herself to down about an inch of it. "It's all okay," he whispered, offering a faint smile of reassurance. There were bags under his eyes.
"Yeah. It's... all fine," Evie echoed, pulling the blankets off of herself and regaining composure.

Wisty vaguely recognized the tune Crystal hummed and was able to hear it even as she strayed further--their acute senses of hearing made it a bit harder to get out of earshot. She didn't mind, though; Wisty liked Crystal's singing voice. She had been distracted by the tune and quickly turned her attention back to Allium, who seemed to be taking a good look at nature around her. "There's a pretty waterfall nearby," she told her, to which Allium nodded.

Blaze's whiskers twitched in a nurturing way when she saw Hazel, too innocent and young to be true. Jinx continued, his mind reeling with ideas. "The she-kit was led to the edge of a cliff, only to see a starry-pelted cat sitting by the edge, looking off into the distance. The fireflies that she had followed swirled around the cat as if they were worshipping it."

"How long have you been here?" Wisty asked, looping her arm with Allium's as they walked alongside Crystal. Allium's shoulders tensed at the sudden touch but she quickly relaxed, trusting the halfling full-heartedly at this point. She seemed too pure, and Allium figured that any good friend of Adriane's was a friend to her.
"Er... only a day or two. Adriane took us here a bit after we met her," she replied, wondering if the others were planning on staying in the hut. Rogue was the one she was most unsure of--he liked to move around a lot but she was beginning to wonder if it was because he had no place to stay.

Evie let out a long, audible sigh and pulled the covers up to her nose in exasperation. She flushed, but it was too dark to see. "Goodnight, Oliver," she grumbled, staring at him for a while before trusting herself enough to close her eyes.
