"How exactly? We all don't have anything besides the clothes on our backs-no one's gonna listen to a bunch of kids. Besides, where would we go? Some of us are too old for foster care and we'll be thrown into the streets. And we aren't even normal-I'm pretty sure if someone found out about one of our powers then the rest of us will be hunted down. Think of the things they could do to us-we'd be back at square one." He hated this. Some of the other freaks were getting a little too bold. Didn't they know that the ringmaster would sometimes beat him in their stead when they thought that they got away with it? He liked some of the freaks here. They were sweet and didn't deserve any of this. Teddy curled against the far corner of his cage, his back facing the rest of them. He knew how to escape, but he also knew better than to do something that selfish and shallow-minded. He just hoped that the others knew that too.
