I'd say it is unnecessary if I simply posted that I didn't like this suggestion. However, you seem to be missing the fact that I have been including valid points in my posts instead of just one phrase.

Posting multiple times? How am I posting multiple times when I am stating different reasons I don't support this suggestion? If you cannot see criticism as a valid post, then I'm afraid I don't get why you posted in the Suggestions forum.
Just a little note to put compression into perspective- the reduction in size (and removal of frames, if it's a gif-) can reduce up to half the original image's size (or more, depending on the method of reduction.)
More data = more server costs. Simple as that.

Somehow I doubt you'd count any point as a "useful" point, seeing how you're attacking LeChatBox right now.
Let's say that an average gif avatar's size is around 200kB. The compressed avatar takes the first frame of the gif and compresses it to fit in the Palpad. This drastically reduces the size cost for the Palpad avatars as opposed to your suggestion, which would let users upload fully animated/size avatars for their Palpad.

	No support. I don't get what you mean by "looks good on our profiles but doesn't suit our palpads" You've only described what it would be like to have this, not how exactly it would help any of us. If you feel your avatar doesn't fit, you could always upload a new one instead of uploading another and wasting space. [Read more]
