Banned because I'm about to make my argument valid and true
tl;dr Black is the absence of light, color needs some absorption and some reflection.

Let Merriam-Webster speak first:
a phenomenon of light (as red, brown, pink, or gray) or visual perception that enables one to differentiate otherwise identical object
Black is the absence of light, making it the color of shadows.

Next is Oxford:
the property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light.
Black doesn't reflect light, it absorbs light. Why is your shirt hot during the summer? Black absorbs LIGHT and HEAT.

Let's go with Britannica:
Colour, the aspect of any object that may be described in terms of hue, lightness, and saturation.
Black doesn't contain any hue. A color has those 3 categories, black and white do not have hue. What's hue? Color.

Say hi to Pantone:
Color is defined as the aspect of things that is caused by differing qualities of light being reflected or emitted by them. To see color, you have to have light.
Black doesn't contain light, as I have said it absorbs light.

Now to Dictionary.com:
the quality of an object or substance with respect to light reflected by the object, usually determined visually by measurement of hue, saturation, and brightness of the reflected light; saturation or chroma; hue.
Like what I have said with Britannica, the shades don't match with the categories.

All references are used in everything, thus making my argument true.
