ahhh;;; my friend and I had plans to go to Japan and Korea next spring for a month (2 weeks each) but they've decided to cancel and switch that to 2020 and go during the summer Olympics that are in Japan.

It sounds like it could be fun... but that's also during the worst months to visit either of those countries cause it's their rainy, humid, and hot season :[[[[[[[

Not to mention prices for everything in Japan are going to skyrocket up since it's going to completely crowded with tourists...

Emotional Capacity

Hello there, been a couple months, not important though, let's get into it.

So I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning, as you do, and the guy on there said something that kind of resonated with me. For always, I've always struggled with who I am, what makes up the person that is Monie, and I've discovered bits and pieces over time but haven't quite finished the puzzle yet. Today, I think I added another piece to it though, and that's really exciting.

My issue has been not connecting with people. Not understanding or being interested in or having really any amount of emotion towards someone's situation. That isn't always the case though! Sometimes I'm really excited/sad/angry when someone else is, and other times I'm really not- just, no feelings. And this morning on the radio the guy was talking about how he found out he had a half brother but he didn't want to talk to his mom about it just then because he just "didn't have the emotional capacity" to deal with it at the moment. And that got me. Didn't have the emotional capacity. Like, it was like everything just made so much more sense in my head about why I don't feel any emotions towards certain things or towards certain people or towards everything in general sometimes.

It was just like everything was explained in an instant and all the pieces that were just floating around in my head finally connected together and that's such an amazing feeling I can't even explain it. Everyone who understands what I'm saying about not understanding who you are or having all the pieces but none of them connect- you know. You know exactly how awful and annoying that feeling is. But when they finally do connect, it's like magic.

I don't have the emotional capacity to deal with most things in my life right now. Call it minor depression (valid) or call it that all my capacity is currently being used up somewhere else (also valid), but with that in mind, I don't feel like such an awful person to not really have any emotions towards other things happening in life. And that's really freeing.

Sorry if this is really hurried and doesn't make much sense. I'm writing when I should be packing and I'm not thinking much because I'm just trying to get it all down. I don't know if I explained it very well, but again- it's not really something you can explain. It's a feeling, and it just -is-.

I go alone to most concerts, it's not too bad. Agreed that it is a lot of fun to have someone with you, but if you are going alone that's not bad either! I make friends with people around me at every concert I've been to alone- it's super easy. I've yet to meet a group of people that didn't immediately accept me into their group when I started talking to them.

The best tip I can give is to check out facebook groups or find forums or on twitter of other fans meeting up before the show to go hang out with. Last year I did that on a whim and met fans I'm still friends with- last month I drove out to one of their houses and spent the weekend while we went to an anime convention together! And in a few weeks another girl I met last year and I are going to the BBMAs in Vegas! Those meetups are fantastic for making connections.

Groups are already all over facebook for the different BTS shows. Oh, plus looking for their groups, esp on fb and twitter, is a great way to see if any fans are planning events during the concert. In the US, the sea and ocean ARMY lights are already being planned (everyone will cover their ARMY bombs in yellow, then change it to blue to represent their song Sea, 'the desert becomes an ocean'). Super awesome.

	Oh you’ll enjoy it immensely. It’s like any other concert! Lots of fan energy, songs you can scream and sing to- there’s just more dancing lol. I’ve been to a lot of various concerts in my life, kpop, pop, rock, metal, country, etc and they’re all the same in principal. Awesome music and an awesome atmosphere. You’ll love it <3 [Read more]

I'm not sure if that's what Monsta X will do! BTS didn't do that last year, but it kind of makes sense since they don't all speak english very well and in a HUGE stadium, that makes it infinitely harder to talk to the fans. Plus that was when wings came out, so each of the guys had a break to rest while the other's were doing their solo songs.

For Day6, it was in a small theatre venue and 2 of the 5 speak fluent english, so it was a lot easier to play games. Let's see.... They had a big bingo board that had a different game under every number that they had to try and win. One was make up a dance, one was make up a song, one of a mystery box where the member had to put his hand in a box and guess what he was touching without looking at it, one was to eat a lemon and then try to whistle (lol), and the last was a game where they put a celebrity up on the screen and had the guys all make a pose at the same time to represent that person and they won the game if they all made the same pose (spoiler, they didn't haha). Then there was a long question and answer portion, and all that happened in the middle of the concert, so it was like an intermission to let the fans sit down and let the guys take a break.

All of that would be very hard in a huge stadium with fans that don't speak your language or you don't speak theirs. Day6 had only 5 members, 2 of which are fluent in english, and it was a small venue, so it was easier (and they had a translator). Looking at the venues Monsta X is going to, I kind of doubt they'll play games :[ which sucks cause they and BTS always look like they're having so much fun interacting with the fans and playing games or singing weird songs or whatever. :[[[

You're right Mochi that pretty much every kpop group sticks to California, New York/Jersey, and Texas. If they're big enough they throw in a Chicago stop too, but everywhere else in the US is left out. Especially since it takes 10 hours to drive anywhere and plane tickets to literally the next state over can cost a few hundred dollars, so that's not really an option for a lot of people either.

No way I saw tons of people with their parents at BTS last year, AND at the Day6 venue. It’s totally not weird.

I think it’s awesome that your mom would be willing to go! I just hope she lets you be 100% crazy and excited and enjoy it as much as possible. Last year I got to the venue about 10am for an 8pm show because of all the booths set up and ARMY fun stuff going on around the venue. Prepare for a LOOOOONG day lmao

Except this venue doesn’t have seats so I guess they won’t spend an hour playing games until the middle of the show like Day6 did :/ [Read more]
