Castiel smiled back at him, "T-thanks... I, uh... still need to tell Tony I'm his brother, though. For the most part, I've been ignoring him, but he wouldn't recognize me in a crowd anyways. Wither's been trying to help, but I want to wait until we switch bases and he's feeling better." Trauma nosed him lightly on the elbow, a small gesture of support.

Sensing the tension in her voice, Wither glanced behind her shoulder briefly before turning around completely. "Are you okay?" She asked, but her concern dropped it to an innocent whisper.

Evie tightly gripped her dagger in her dominant hand, setting her glasses next to Oliver and slowly creeping out of the bush. It had taken them a long while to finally find the boar, especially when they realized that they hadn't been close to any source of water, but they had been lucky to track it down as it waddled throughout the forest. Charging towards it with a knife, however, was far from Evie's best idea--silent hunting was a bit out of her range, but she was hungry and reckless like that. She also knew that there was no chance of her overpowering the beast, but she knew her way around a knife and figured that there wasn't much life ahead of her anyways in a killing game.
As she leaped to stab, however, there was a crack from the distance. The boar collapsed to the ground, shot straight through the eye. Evie slipped back into the bushes and put her glasses back on, holstering the dagger in favor for a pistol. "I don't know if they saw me," she mumbled to Oliver, "it was a weird angle. I say we wait for them to collect the boar and take them down while we're at it--two birds with one stone, yknow?"

Castiel nodded, his gaze driven into the ground with more weight than he could handle. He tried to take a deep breath but it ended up as a pathetic huff that sent a sharp pain to his back.
"I, uh... I was born the youngest of the angelic royal family. Everyone was a lot more focused on my brother, so I was allowed to kinda do my own thing in the shadows. T-to be honest, I never really saw Tony all that much and I hardly remember what he looks like. I... don't know if you heard, but a corrupt angel was sent to attack the palace. It was burned down and I was locked in the library."
His mouth turned down and he could feel his eyes growing warm, but he kept speaking, stroking his fingers through Trauma's matted fur.
"They took me in and tortured me for a long time. Some... alchemist or something set a curse that made sure I wouldn't die on them, and then they sliced open my back and did some twisted stuff to my spine so that it would be a weapon. It's why I'm always in pain. There were... more like me, that had been tested on. We were meant to fight each other, but somehow Trauma and I found each other instead and managed to escape. Wither found us somehow and now we're here."
-----------
Wither coughed and sat up, still facing away from Magnolia, her cheeks flushing into a beet red. "O-oh, um... sorry about that. I haven't noticed. I'll be more mindful of your space," she lied, internalizing her panic. "Sorry."

Crysia blinked sharply--that certainly wasn't the case for her, as she held unfond memories of silver crosses searing into her skin back when priests dedicated their lives to "purifying" vampires. She had been ordered to stay away from them for the most part, but she was even more reckless when she was younger and had a handful of terrible instances. Priest vampires, however, was an entirely new concept to her. "Why, then? Are you a priest?" She asked, the second question a bit teasing.

"Yeah," she said bluntly, not even attempting to reassure him about his advice-giving skills. "Sometimes the complications aren't worth it. Things don't always work and... well, in my case there's nothing to do about it." Crysia offered a smile to lighten the mood, "It'll be buried in the years, anyways."
Her focus rested on the cross, the way Jackson calmed when it was in his hand. Not much use in hiding things from someone you're bound to, she thought to herself, knowing that she could just use some of her energy to rack his brain if she really wanted to know. She had tried to do it once to Monty when she was freshly bound to him, but as she remembered, it didn't end well.
"What's the story behind the necklace?"

Crysia smiled, but it wasn't quite a smile of affection or reassurance--it was more of an enigmatic amusement, and she hid it by quickly downing the rest of the vial in her hand. She didn't show any sign of disgust this time. "And I'm a broken woman, Jackson. We're too screwed up to even begin to make a positive impact to each other, much less ourselves. It just so happens to be that when two dangerous, broken people get close to each other they can't help but poison the other with the likes of it; we love each other, and that's the problem." Her tone was soft and calm, but there was a small glimmer of pain in her eyes that ebbed away. Crysia seemed to have known this for a while, but saying it out loud solidified it into reality. "Have you ever been in love, Jackson?"

Skye sighed in defeat but looked curiously at Tempest to see if he could speak. A discovery like this would certainly deem the interaction not useless in her book. "I'm old, Xena," Tempest replied, still incomprehensible to Skye, "my human-speak is of a forgotten dialect and even so it's terribly broken." He rubbed his cheek against her head, flattening her ear, and swirled back to lightly touch his nose to Skye's head. She looked up at him in confusion but realized that it was a parting gesture, to which she begrudgingly slunk back into the darkness of the tree behind her to teleport somewhere else.

"I meant before, you d--" her sentence was cut off when she realized he was blushing, replaced by a mischevious grin that crept up her face. Crysia laughed and Celestial cocked her head knowingly. "You act like you've never been complimented before," she teased, his shyness reminding her of Rain. She paused for a moment and knew that she had lost track of time, wondered if Rain or Scarlet had woken up yet. Her mind finally strayed to Lucifer. Crysia's eyes cast to the floor and she forced the worry and hurt to the back of her mind again and decided to stay put with Jackson because she knew that seeing Scarlet would only remind her of him.
"She doesn't know that he's left yet," Celestial reminded her, to which Crysia dismissively turned away and ran her fingers through her hair.

Silver raised his eyebrows, ready to defend Rhythe, but realized there was really no way to defend her questionable sanity and shrugged it off. Eclipse waved happily, her hand still steady on Magnolia's back so that she didn't fall. "Dusk is okay too," she chirped.

She shook her head. "Never knew you were the King's son. It's a bit hard to believe that I've known you since my... early assassin days." Crysia looked at Celestial with reminiscence and affectionately stroked her wing. "Celes was only a chick back then, I think." Her words went to a halt as she got caught up in examining Jackson's hair color and how it could change so quickly. "The black fits you," she said kindly.
----------
Rhythe rolled her eyes and leaned back, her cheek squished against the top of Silver's head. "Aye, Shade, you're too aggressive sometimes," she said, flicking her hand and ignoring the irony in the statement. "Besides, Monty isn't the Queen. He shows his issues through passive-aggressive threats and fancy banter, y'know?" Silver looked at the doorframe, wondering why it was taking so long for Eclipse and Magnolia to get there.

"Everyone used to be an inch or two shorter than me," Crysia replied jokingly, sipping on the concoction casually and not reading into much until he mentioned his father. Her head cocked with deep interest as if waiting for him to say something she didn't quite want to uncover, and when his hair shifted her face slowly drifted through stages of realization and shock. She then proceeded to break into a fit of coughing, probably induced by the potion, and firmly hit her chest to stop it. "Y-yeah, I... remember you. You were the kid," She mumbled, laughing lightly in exasperation. "Don't think I ever talked to you, though. Hell, I probably forced myself to ignore you." Crysia smiled playfully and leaned back again.
----------
When Silver entered he looked around briefly before losing interest, sitting in the chair across from Shade laxly. Rhythe casually followed after him and sat on his lap, draping her arm across his shoulder and leaning forward to inspect Shade. "You and Monty work out your issues yet?" She asked bluntly, smiling expectantly.

Crysia rolled her eyes at the remark but chuckled, surprised that Jackson was younger than her. She had always figured that he was at least older than Lucifer and knew that Vivalda had him when she was young (which she wasn't even sure of; everything was a rumor) but she had never really thought about the Queen's age. It was even more difficult to tell Monty's age, much less find any similarities between him and Jackson.
----------
"You'll certainly try. That's what I like about you, Shade," he said, clapping him lightly on the shoulder. He suddenly swiveled to the left, in front of extravagant ceiling-high doors, and flicked a petite black-nailed hand out in front of him. In direct sight was a small sitting area, dimly lit by candles, with an archway that led into a separate kitchen and dining room. "There are three bedrooms upstairs, I believe. Make yourselves welcome," Monty said, turning around with a small smile. With that he and Liri were gone--no ominous aura clouds or portals; simply gone in a blink of an eye.
Eclipse nodded, a bit at ease, and noticed Rhythe and Silver walking ahead of them. She tugged lightly on Magnolia's hand, not wanting to fall behind.

Crysia simply grinned, displaying her full upper row of sharp milky white teeth, in order to suppress the amused chuckles that threatened to escape. "I'm happy to be a friend, Jackson," she said warmly, ruffling Celestial's feathers as if teasing her for being so cynical. She seemed to be fully relaxed at this point and a bit at ease--for the first time she had been bound with good intentions, and she realized that it was the safest she'd felt in millennia. She took a small sip of the energy concoction, determined to finish it. "How old are you, Jackson?" Crysia asked, realizing she didn't know.
-------
Liri clicked in disapproval, her pupilless, white-hot eyes seeming to bore through Shade. Monty lowered his hand in her direction and she sizzled, heeding and skittering beside him with traces of hostility. Interest sparked in him when he noticed the ring, but otherwise, his opinions on it were unreadable--he seemed indifferent as if he hadn't even seen it in the first place. "I do not intend to separate you from the girl, but if she steps out of line I might just do so." His sentence was blunt, already tired of being subtle. I care about the child as much as you do and I don't think you have had the pleasure of understanding how much potential she holds. I am willing to keep letting you have a role in raising her," he paused and looked at Shade almost coldly, "but if there's any interference I will sever all ties. I urge you to be diplomatic about this, even if it's not much of a strength."
Rhythe whistled as she walked alongside Silver, Eclipse tugged Magnolia forward and looking up with concern. "Are we going to lose each other?" She asked, cocking her head with worry.

"Hey, I didn't mean to embarrass you," Silver said, her playful tone softened ever so slightly with guilt. "It was a perfectly reasonable assumption." She flicked her ear and lightly punched him in the shoulder (or, rather, lightly in her standards--they hit pretty hard in the Force).

Her eyes traced him as he walked, sparking with interest when he mentioned bloodlines. Her head was cocked slightly and she had decided at this point that she was completely fine with being bound to Jackson, even though she'd have to figure out how to balance it with serving the Queen.
"I doubt either of them would even try to bind me at this point," Crysia said, ignoring the statement about Lucifer, "I haven't even seen the King since I was bound to him." Celestial lightly kneaded the couch arm with her claws, not hard enough to do any damage, listening closely. Curious thoughts churned in her head and Crysia knew that her raven was wondering the same things.
"Why... exactly did you bind me, Jackson? What plans do you have?"
-------
Monty laughed, "Thank you." His eyes flickered across the group before landing on Magnolia, his smile still gentle and pleasant. "Oh, don't stress, dear. I want to keep Eclipse as safe as you do"--a lightly menacing air wrapped around his words suddenly--"and if I wished to rid of any of you I would have already done so." Liri crept to his side, her motions fluid but disturbingly silent. "I am positive we can build trust in each other's company again, hm?" His inverted eyes seemed to bore through Magnolia and Shade.
Silver stood with his hands behind his back, silent and straight. Rhythe looped her arm with his, ruining his military-like facade. Monty turned to them, "But you two have done well. Enough introducing, allow me to bring you to the rooms. It's been quite a while since any of you have had a proper place to sleep," he said, turning to the right and beginning to stroll with Liri at his side.

"Okay, if you're sure! I haven't known most of them for too long, though... they'll play nice as long as you do," Rogue told him in full honestly, rubbing the back of his neck and thinking about his bad encounters with Crystal.

Skye grimaced at the lick and wiped her mouth with her sleeve. Tempest only mewed in response, swishing his tail serenely. She sighed and looked at the both of them, figuring an ancient beast would know what they're doing. "Tempest, did you see Maxwell anywhere?... He ran off while we weren't looking..." She turned to Xena hopefully. "Nature-light Fantasy, kinda young?"

Venom sniffed the air curiously and pawed the ground, sensing the presence of Fantasy power. He swished his tail and mewed, grabbing Robin's attention. "Do you smell him?" Robin asked, bending down so he could look at his beast companion. Venom roared--although his roar wasn't fully developed, and it sounded more like a raspy hiccup--a leaped through the portal that opened in front of him. It closed and in a moment he was gone, leaving Robin bewildered and concerned.
--------------
Venom bounded through the forest, reaching Maxwell quickly and pawing at his legs.

"Oh, shoot. Well..." He pursed his lips and sat back down on the park bench, resting his chin on his fist as he thought. Rogue had a tendency to make quick decisions when he got excited. I guess it wouldn't be good if they knew who I really was, either, he thought, knowing that most hybrids wouldn't want a fugitive in their household.
He snapped his fingers and brightened, "Okay, okay. How about this: I know someone who can help us get a human house somewhere in the same forest in exchange for a couple of favors, but it'll take some time for me to get it sorted out--we can live there together, like old times. Until then, you can take shelter in my room in the house with the other hybrids... although you might have to sneak around a bit, but that's what you're good at!"

It... speaks, Skye thought, her bewilderment showing on her face. She stepped back, putting her hand slightly in front of her. Darkness surrounded it, concaving to the center of her palm and seeming to darken her light blue eyes by at least five shades. Tempest mewed at her disapprovingly, shifting and gently poking her with his horn. Skye looked at him with confusion but slowly lowered her hand, canceling the aura so that the light returned to the area undisturbed. "Who... are you?" She asked slowly, trusting Tempest.

Rogue perked up, beaming at the opportunity--for once, he had something to offer. "I'm staying with a group of other hybrids, although I haven't known them for long... They're quite nice though! Come on, I'll try to put in a good word for you," he insisted, his canines sharpening briefly from his excitement.

Tempest only sighed, a low thunderous rumble barely audible from the back of his throat, and remembered why he and Xena hadn't spoken in millennia. Most of the time they got along--Darkness and Weather were corresponding elements, much like how Light and Nature were--but when they fought they used to leave regions in dust behind them.
"I'm afraid there's not much that can be done there," he said sympathetically, "although I suppose you may be able to mirror some of Willow's actions. She used to train up her Fantasies and mother them in a sense, help them harbor their powers or whatever. If that'll help any."
-------------
Skye quickly shadow-ported her way through the forest, taking only seconds to skim her surroundings before switching places. She stopped by a spot where Tempest was laying and huffed, thinking of her own brother, before brushing her hair behind her shoulder and approaching them. "Hey, bud," she cooed softly, stopping when she heard him speak through a series of what sounded like growls and purrs. "Whhhhhhat the hell?" She mumbled, seeing the huge panther lying near him.
