It depends on where you are selling the berries or buying them at. If they are just in your item bag, not many people have that to deal with unless you have berries they made need for their berry garden. On the other hand, the berry garden is where you can sell berries and stuff like that. It has a recommended price for you to sell them at, but people go otherwise, so it just depends on what you and the other people are willing to pay for them. ^^

They do not contain actual Pokemon (besides the Harvest Sprite), however, certain boxes, for example, a red box, could have something ranging from berries to a map (which then, you send your Pokemon on a Rumble Mission there, according to the type it needs to be. Then, if it wins the fight with he legendary, you get that summon item to summon it in the Ancient Cave. So in a way, yes it could have a thing to obtain the Pokemon. Gold boxes and keys are priced the way they are because they are tougher to get. But still have the same chances as other boxes and keys.
