Tiny glided out of the window on silent wings, trying to hold back tears. She soared into the night, flying over the forest near the school. She heard noises, but it only registered as sound to her. Reaching her mind out below her, she felt tree branches and floated down to them to rest her golden wings. Putting her back up against a tree trunk and hugging her knees to her chest, she fell into a restless sleep.

Tiny awoke with a start, rolling to her feet. Peeking around the trunk of her tree, she squeaked. The scene before her was horrific. Who in the world was evil enough to do this to an innocent person! Ducking back behind the tree, she collected herself. How could she help? She took a deep breath and a second later Tiny was gone and a squirrel was scampering up the tree. The squirrel, Tiny, began pelting pinecones and nuts at the corrupted creature.

Rand writhed on the floor of his cage, then slowly opened his eyes. He forced the Flame and the Void, and the pain seemed someone else's. He slowly looked about himself, examining the cages and people in them. The owl girl was in a cage right next to him, but her cage was made of a mesh that Rand could easily break with his sword. And he almost summoned it, if he hadn't noticed the strange paleness of his own bars.

How did the fools get Quediar bars? I can't break it!

Rand growled, making the Owl girl look up.

"So you're awake; I've been watching you, Rand. My name is Violet!"

Suddenly, her eyes glowed pink, almost an Identical shade to Rose's. she began to hum- And her arm started to grow. Rand stared in amazement at this wonder of a creature with powers so close to Rose's. Flowers began sprouting in the dirt of her floor, vines and wood growing into a violing-like thing that Violet grabbed at and began to play. It sounded nothing like Rand had ever heard, but just the same he got out his flute and joined in. His fingers seemed to move on their own, harmonising with the indescribable sounds. Rand's pain began to melt away.

"Nice to meet you too! Rose Velvet fits you, I hope you know."

Rand grinned, turning to Rose. He stopped as a groan rose from the owl. Rand spun, and the "owl" was not an owl. The same big dark eyes, glowing purple, were set in the face of a young girl, about the age of seven.

"What'd you do that for! Now I'll have to wait for this to grow back, thanks."

The girl gestured to her now missing arm, dripping blood. She sighed, then glanced at Rose.

"You and me I think are alike, wouldn't you?"

The owl circled them, and Rand stared at the force field, before saying.

"My name is Rand. What's yours?"

The owl screeched loudly, soaring up to the ceiling and diving down. Strait through the force field. Rand jumped back, and suddenly a sword forged in fire was in his hands, a Heron on the hilt and blade.

"Blasted bird,"

He growled, and the blade flashed in his grip as he struck out with Boar Waiting in the Rushes. There was a thump and a screech as the owl fell to the ground. A smell of burnt feathers was in the air.

Rand started- A girl!

"Oh, well it was. . . Interesting. Can you-"

He was cut off as the squeak of a mouse was heard, the flap of wings, a crunch, then silence. An owl alighted on the floor between them, staring at them with huge, dark, unblinking eyes. Al to human eyes. and they weren't dark; they were purple. the owl spread its wings, flapping furiously. It headed for the girl and started attacking her with its beak and talons.

Rand groaned, opened his eyes, and sat up with a jolt. He was definitely not in the Stone of Tear anymore. And where in the Light was his shirt! He quickly found it, pulling it over his head. Sitting cross-legged on the floor, he closed his eyes, summoning the Flame and the Void. He put all his emotions into the Flame, when it was all shattered by beautiful singing. It was cut short by words that Rand heard only barely. The singing was unnerving- when it was going, he could not seize the power. He took a deep breath and tried to speak, but all that came out was a croak. He cleared his throat and called out quietly.

"Wh-who's there?"

Realizing that this woman was not as formal as he, Rand grinned.

"I'm Rand! Your wolves are beautiful, and they look deadly. Great companions for protection."

Suddenly his grin widened, and he whispered something in the old tung. A golden dragon, like a long serpent with four legs and a golden mane, with six claws on each foot.

"I have all the protection I need!"

Rand's grin faded, and the Dragon faded too.

"It's a dangerous world, if I were to know what world this is or how I came here. I need to get back to Shinar to save my people. . ."

Rand Al'thor sheathed his sword with the move called 'folding the fan' and began to clean up his camp. He heard a rustling in the bushes, and quick as a flash his hero-marked sword was out. 'Cat crosses the courtyard' took him straight to the bush, where he swatted them aside with his sword. Behind them was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Sheathing his sword quickly, he bowed, and using the power, drew her name from her mind.

Aaron winced at the words as he floated above the scene.

I hadn't realized that doing this would cause her so much pain. . . If only. . . I've got it! MOTHER!

Aaron's part of the ribbon shot towards him, and snatched it out of the air, soaring down to take Jackie's part of the ribbon. As soon as Aaron touched the ribbon, he became visible. There was a small scar on his shirtless chest, and his white pants were stained with blood. But he was there, if insubstantial. Quickly he held his end of the ribbon towards Jackie's, and as they fused, Aaron was sucked into the now whole ribbon.

"I love you, sister. . ." The echo of his voice faded as he did.

	Aaron flew into camp, his wings fluttering. He floated to read invisibly over Jackie's shoulder. "I'm sorry I could never be good enough for you. I hope you can forgive me, one day. You'll find my body on the shores of the lake." Suddenly Aaron's head shot up, he shot into the clouds, and then Dragged something, pale and glowing, and then shoved Fog's spirit back into his body. as soon as Aaron entered the wood, he turned toward the lake. At a run, he reached the remains of the hand and picked up one of the long, sharp, and hopefully deadly claws. As he studied the sharp point, tears began flooding down his cheeks.

I hope this works. . .

"I'm sorry I was never there for you, Jackie. I could never be good enough to be your sibling. . ." Whispered Aaron.

Rasing the claw high in the air, it glinted in the fainting sunlight and it plunged into Aaron's chest. There was a pop, a thump, and silence.

Aaron kicked the rock into the lake, angry at himself. He could never do anything right! The rock made a splash, and ripples spread across the lake. And kept spreading. Aaron walked to the edge of the lake and peered in.'

There's no way a rock that small could make ripples so- HOLY S***!

Aaron Shouted as a huge claw snaked out of the lake, grabbing him around the middle. Aaron writhed, but for the life of him could not transform.
