The dark path was hard to see in, but it looked less deceiving than the light path.
Oh, why didn’t she develop a demon art that could provide light?

Emiru heard what seemed like a bolt hitting a wall.
Somewhere distant, it looked like someone was hitting a wall with lightning, just for it to return it back.
How amusing, watching the brick fall on his head shortly after.

Her rose staff had leaned toward one of the walls without her knowing, the rose part touching the wall.
She watched as the poison from the rose seemingly seeped through the wall.

Emiru blinked. It would take a while to convince her that she wasn't fond of human flesh.

"Listen, slayer. If I were a human-eating demon, wouldn't I be attempting to eat you before going into those weird gates right about now? I assure you, I would rather eat my own limb than even bite a human."
It wouldn't hurt too much anyway.

She looked back the gate. Inside seemed to be walls of some sort, but she wasn't sure.

Emiru sinked back a little at Kaori's threatening message. What confidence this girl had, walking straight up to a creature that could devour her alive.
It's not like she was going to attempt to, anyway.

"Oh, they haven't? Word was going around town that they disbanded. But don't worry, I don't plan to attack or eat you, or anyone here for the matter. I'm assuming you also speak Japanese?"

Thinking of it, she hadn't eaten anyone in a few decades. It was good that she stopped.
Her hat had tilted to the side, and she awkwardly set it back in place.

"Demon slayer, please call me Emiru. And please do not try to lunge at my throat, if you'd mind"
She knew very well that Emiru was not her real name, only the name her human guardian had given her.

Up ahead, she heard a witch of some sort speak a language she had never heard in her life.

	The gates before Emiru's eyes were fascinating, but looked like a somewhat familiar sight. She took a glance at the people around her. There was a person who seemed to be wearing a demon slayer uniform. 'Hadn't the slayers disbanded? That's what I heard from my human guardian..' She just hoped that the demon slayer didn't decide on killing her, as Emiru didn't want to eat her up. [Read more]
