The only thing stopping Shiiro from ripping off her gloves and slapping this man in the face was the fact that they were positioned inside a school, and she deemed killing someone as 'un-child-friendly'. How dare he suggest that she needed a weapon to defeat a person like him? Her eyes planted firmly on the ground, and despite her thoughts, a smile dropped onto her face.
"I shan't be removing my cloak," she said, her voice light, fragile, sounding as if it could break at the slightest push. Her accent was heavily English, and overly posh for someone of the modern age. "And I am not currently in possession of said 'weapons'." Her voice was almost taunting in the way it slithered around the room, easily filling it. She didn't deny the whole 'you're trying to kill us' line, because her opinion depended on how this conversation went.

Just as Shiiro had finally thought she had earned some rest. Again, she jumped back, hearing and feeling a heavy hand set itself on the doorknob. Her muscles tensed, only to relax again a second afterwards. Desperately, she glanced around the classroom, but saw nothing other than tables and chairs. She was caught - so used to being the cat, though now it was as if she were being stalked by a dog. If she were trapped then there wasn't much she could do - simply wait, act as calm as possible and avoid conflict, she supposed.
So, with this in mind, she slowly wandered to the wall next to the door and leant on it, a yawn tearing at her mouth, whilst her arms automatically crossed themselves in front of her. A rogue slither of steam drifted away from her face, ascending to the ceiling and disappearing.

Having heard footsteps - masculine, steadfast, and rather hefty, by the sounds of it - she had listened closely, and, upon hearing their volume increasing, had quickly backed away from the door and hidden in the doorframe of a nearby classroom. Mentally, she cursed, realising that she had become unfocused and allowed her breathing to be heard. She pressed herself closer to the classroom door, and, slowly, slid her hand over to the handle. She tested it, unnaturally gentle, and barely stopped herself from sighing when it made no noise. Pushing it down all the way, she opened the door a crack and slipped inside, her gloves still trapping her hands in a cocoon of leather.

The young lady frowned. It was now obvious that the headmaster knew she was here; why he wasn't blowing her cover, though, she couldn't tell. For the moment, she had decided to stay hidden from the other students, if only to hear what was going on before committing herself to the school. She poked her head around the corner, withdrawing it again when the man had snapped his fingers, as, in most theatrical creations, that surely meant that a chance of scenery was in order. Strangely enough, she was right.
Another curse was muttered; because the lights were on, her spying was over, as her velvet red cloak would undoubtedly be seen against the plain walls of the gymnasium. She now only had her ears to rely on, though they had never been much good. With her foot still keeping the door from closing, she listened to the Headmaster, still deciding not to reveal herself to the crowd.

As the door opened, Shiiro let out a curse under her breath. There wasn't time to slip in behind them; she was too far away - and besides, she would probably have been seen. And the horrific noise of the door opening would undoubtedly be heard if opened again. Silently, as the door was closing, she began walking over. The door sped up as it closed. Faster, faster. She sprinted the final few meters, creating nothing but silence, and, as the door slithered to barely a centimeter between it and the doorframe, she slipped a foot in between the door and the wall, stopping it from closing. Perhaps they wouldn't notice that it hadn't shut. Either way, the risk had been worth taking. She let out a content grin, before, so slowly as to be unnoticeable, opening it.

Being found by Timothy had certainly increased her confidence and happiness, and the poor lady looked so lonely, so she figured that she should at least try to make a positive impression to perhaps brighten her day.
"As do I," she replied, smiling. "Thank you for your kind offer of taking me home. I wish you joy for the future, should I not see you again." Her shoulders set, she gave Dallas a final, joyful smile, before turning, still holding Timothy's hand. It wasn't often they did this, but she guessed that he was doing it as a protection method, or possibly reassurance. Either way, it worked.

The farmer's son followed Esmerelda without another word, leading them back towards the castle, his hand still firmly in her's. He cast a single, poisonous glare over his shoulder at the ghoul. He didn't like the way that she had looked at him; as if she were planning something, challenging him to a game of patience rather than a fight. He'd need to watch his back.
Setting their pace to a fast walk, he led the Princess back into the lighter, happier parts of town, and soon enough the castle had come into their sights. Though he kept glancing over his shoulder, and, in extreme cases, hiding in alleyways, he couldn't stop feeling paranoid that they were being followed.
Once there were many guards in sight and the castle couldn't be missed, he said his farewells to Esmerelda, watching her gracefully skip back to the castle for a while before turning back into the village, marching through the crowds towards the area where his friends had promised they would be.

For a few seconds, the Princess simply stared into space, quite in shock at the ordeal. She shook her head, regaining her senses and realising that she had been asked a question. Due to her blissful nature, she didn't notice the tone in Dallas' voice, seeing it only as a question rather than an insult.
"Yes. Yes, she was taking me home," she agreed, her voice still trembling slightly. Somewhere inside herself, she knew that the person was most likely not taking her home, but this was far too buried for her to notice it. She took a step towards Timothy, around Dallas.

He, too, removed his hand from the premesis of his pocket knife. His eyes slid between the two. Though he had heard it from Esmerelda's mouth, he still didn't believe it - perhaps the stranger bewitched her. And, worse yet, he realised that the castle was behind him; the opposite direction of where they had been travelling. The spite in Dallas' voice as she spoke the word princess sent small shivers down his spine. No matter what happened, he certainly wasn't going to let this person take Esme to whatever doomed lair they lived in.
He nodded. "I thank you for that, but I shall escort Esme from here," he said, his voice stern and his eyes hard, almost daring her to challenge him. He took Esme by the hand, letting her come willingly to his side, and as they stood there, hand in hand, he simply waited. If he had to fight, he would - and besides, his friends would most likely join him once they saw the situation.

Taking a step backwards, Timmy's eyes widened as the dagger was drawn. He cast a desperate glance towards Esmerelda, but managed to keep his voice steady as he said, "Ma'am, please put down the dagger. I'm a friend of the Princess, and I was simply asking what she was doing." He paused before the word 'friend', trying to think of a suitable phrase to describe them. His eyes now held firmly on the dagger, he casually reached a hand into his back pocket, where he always hid a pocket knife - usually for work on the farm, such as cutting ropes and amputating diseased limbs, but he supposed it would be useful in a fight, if it were to come to that. He also realised how vulnerable to blades he was, parading around without a shirt, but he was used to fist-fights rather than full-blown bloody knife fights.

Feeling the sharp pain of her own teeth dig into her lower lip, she followed after the strange lady, her senses thoroughly aroused. She knew that there was something wrong with this, that she shouldn't be going this way, but she had no other option. Somehow, the world seemed to descend into a bitter darkness as she walked away from her home, as if the light were being swallowed by the numerous hags that glared at her as she passed. After a while of following in silence, she head footsteps behind her - fast, as if they were trying to catch up. Then a shout, which sent her heart doing it's own fluttering dance, as it did every time she heard the smooth rumbling of it;
"Esmerelda?"

Tιɱσƚԋყ Bʅαƈƙαɾɱ

The footsteps behind Esmerelda and Dallas sped up, sending small shock waves through the farmer's body. "What're you.. doing?" He looked towards the person that Esme was travelling with, quite confused. A princess shouldn't be this far away from the castle, let alone this far from the guards. Timothy had happened to be passing by with friends when he had seen a well-dressed lady with someone of much lower status, a village commoner, by the looks of it. His friends were now watching from a little way off, not having the bravery to confront the duo with him. So he stood alone, looking like rather a fool, though he slowly shuffled towards the Princess, enjoying her presence.

[sorry for spelling or grammar mistakes, this was done in a rush]

Another breath in, another breath out. Her heart might as well have burst out of her chest, her eyes shot out of their sockets. Somehow, she managed not to scream as Dallas circled her, though her terror was obvious from the trembling spreading through her body. She realised that she was unarmed, and completely hopeless should she need to fight. Breathe in, breathe out. Perhaps if she simply relaxed, the rather strangely dressed woman would take her home.
"Yes," she attempt to say, but it caught as she said it and sounded more like the sqeak of a cornered mouse. Clearing her throat, she tried again. "Yes, I am lost, and I'd very much like it if you could show me how to find my way home." Though there were slight trembles in her voice and she spoke unnaturally quickly, it mostly remained steady throughout her speech. Realising that if she tensed she might be seen as hostile, she let herself relax, turning the coin idly in her hand.

Somehow, the Princess had managed to find herself lost in her own father's kingdom. The buildings around her were in no way familiar; the people studied her with suspicious glares. Thankfully, guards were still posted around the outskirts, though they were far less common. After a while, though, they stopped appearing. Her eyes widened, her chilled stroll turned into an agitated speed walk, her breaths sped up and- thump. She recoiled back, her eyes becoming so large that they shouldn't be able to fit onto her abnormally small face. She found herself face to face with some sort of lady dressed in black, with a gas mask covering the lower half of her face. Naturally, Esmerelda let out a whimpering noise, finding the person quite intimidating. And, it was at this moment that she became aware of an object inside her closed fist, which she was sure had not been there before, and felt oddly like a coin. She squeezed this object tighter, using it as her stress relief.

ֆɦɨɨʀօ ȶɨӄǟʟʟ

The practically silent breathing of a young maiden followed the teacher and two lost students, her cape hugging close to her slim body. She wasn't planning on being seen just yet, though she was sure that her arrival was known, if she wasn't being tracked - which she probably was. She abandoned her swift walk in favour of a slow jog, making sure to be completely silent as she stalked the trio. Her mouth was carved into a hard line, portraying none of whatever was happening behind her emotionless mask. Though her rose red cape rather cast itself apart from the darkness of the school, she managed to hide around corners, slide against walls or scamper into doorways before being seen - just biding her time.
The strange coming and going of her powers unsettled and confused her, as if she hadn't known that she was normal again until it was gone. She let out a small breath, which could either have been compared to a sigh or huff, depending on how well she was known.

Gently, the maiden stepped down from the porch, her cape quivering in the soft breeze. A soft sigh released itself from her rosy lips as she drifted down the stairs, pulling her black leather gloves higher up her arms. She opened her glazed back eyes, remorse heaping itself up inside her own petite body, with no way to escape. It simply lingered there, clawing, howling with it's own rage.
Another day, another death.
Perhaps, some day, she'd find some sense of forgiveness inside herself; forgiveness for the many sinners whose souls she had sent God knows where, for herself, for whatever supernatural experience had made her into this creature of ignorance. That day, however, was not today. Leaving the house in which she had hidden the corpses - a mother and daughter who had happened to stumble upon her cursing a flower - she began to wander along the road, her velvet hood hiding her gothic appearance - though her clothing was a major giveaway. She didn't get very far, though, before coming to a stop, feeling a presence behind her. Without having a chance to confront the stalker, a hand of sorts stretched around to her face and simply poked her in the cheek. Inevitably, she passed out.

Silence. The absence of noise, as it was described by most. By her, though, it was described as freedom; freedom from noise, freedom from company, freedom from confrontation. It was this silence that comforted her, though she had no idea of her whereabouts. As she again opened her eyes, no immediate thoughts fired in her rather odd mind. She stood, as if nothing had occurred, and took note of her school-like surroundings. So far, it seemed she wasn't bothered by any of the happenings, even if she should have been; none should have been able to touch her and suffer no consequences, though it appeared a certain someone had. This thought urger her to nudge open the door, to slip out, to silently jog towards the callings in the darkness.

I told myself I shouldn't join any roleplays, but..

Username: -Uhh
Character name: Shiiro Tikall [pronounced 'She-rho tick-ahl]
Age: 19
Gender Female; she / her
Appearance: (xxx) [not my art]
Personality: tbrp'd
Power: If her skin comes into contact with any living organism, it instantly decreases or increases dramatically in temperature, sometimes to the point of ice forming or fire being set alight. The slightest touch can cause this, so she wears black leather gloves up to her elbows which are irritably hard to remove, and always covers herself up with thick layers of clothing. If feeling an emotion of affection, her powers will be reduced to almost no effect. Where her skin is not covered, steam or smoke is sometimes seen rising.

"But what if they find out? What if they-"
"They're awake, shut up!"
[cough cough]
"Hello. You are currently inside A White Cube. I wish you luck with your trials."
A small whistle, before all that greets you is silence.

Plot
Show hidden content
You wake up in a blinding white room with a scream-worthy headache, and no clue as to how you arrived there. Come to think of it, you remember nothing before this, other than your name, and a few select things about yourself. As the dizziness drowns in it's own confusion, you notice several other people surrounding you, each of which looks as dazed as you feel. It's at this point that the room flashes red, once, which instantly cures the ringing of your ears and the pain of your mind. As you have been informed, the room you lay in is snow-white, and though it has no defining edges, it somehow feels like a cube. Security cameras are planted around the room; two on each wall, four on the roof.
Perhaps you should make an introduction to your 'trial-mates'.

Esmerelda
A pair of green eyes scanned the crowd as Esmerelda pushed through, leaving a parting in her wake. She had watched the general take away her sister, for whom she was rather worried, having not heard a word of their conversation. Of course, she would have, and should have, departed with the duo, but she felt that she needed a little more time outside, with the people of her kingdom. Having reached the outskirts of the now disappearing crowd, she let out a small sigh, her eyes closing as she noticed the smells and noises of the town. Perhaps she should start spending more time down here.

Again flicking open her eyelids, she set off at a slow pace in whichever direction her legs demanded they go. Being a princess, her face was extremely recognisable, which became obvious as several townsfolk waved and smiled at her, though some scorned her with an evil glare. She waved back, handing out free grins to the villagers. The sight was fairly odd, to say the least. A princess should not have been parading around on her own outside the castle, and she very well knew that, but there were several guards dotted around, so she'd be fine - she thought. (dun dun duuuuuun)
