While waiting for a response from Charles, Maggie decided to take a look around. A few people caught her eye. There were the bipedal wolf-like creatures, one with black fur the other with blue and white. She used to lurk around wolves, they were pretty reliable. Then there were two that brought them here, one of which looked like a cat. Naturally she was weary about them, but the cat seemed to be nice enough to not eat her. She saw Calverus. Maggie gave a friendly smile. Sure he almost killed Charles, but she's seen worse out of good people. She continued to take in the surroundings, noting any significant landmarks that could help her later on.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Charles." Maggie nodded her head in acknowledgement. She looked at the wall, her gaze panning from one end of it to the other. "Just how large is this place?" she asked. Maggie thought that it looked smaller than most of the cities she traversed, but it was definitely larger than the town she was raised in. It was daunting to her, but she would probably be able to traverse the city after a few nights, in the sky at least.
"What was Henry like?" she asked Charles. "I might be able to find him faster if I knew a bit about him--it would narrow down places where he would and wouldn't be." Henry would probably stand out in a crowd, though in this menagerie pretty much everyone stood out in their own way so would it be the opposite if Skyrah is the same? She wouldn't worry about that right now.

Maggie covered her ears until his shouting subsided. "Thank you." She paused. "I haven't introduced myself, have I? I'm Maggie. I know your friend over there is called Celia, but I don't think I caught your name." Maggie felt a pressure lift off of her. She was relieved that the shouting was over for now; she would probably get used to the shouting eventually, but at the moment she could only handle a little above room voice.

Maggie winced at the shouting and covered her ears to dampen the affects. After the shouts ceased, she was left with a ringing in her ears. With a moment's hesitation, she approached the stick people. "Excuse me..." she started, her voice quiet and unsure, "...I understand that you're probably worried about your friend, but could you not yell so loudly? It hurts my ears, apparently more than what is normal." Maggie felt as if someone was pushing her to say these things. "If it helps, I can help look for your friend with you." Her voice grew to be more stable and at her normal volume, which was still kinda quiet.

The buildings of Skyrah were something that she had never seen before. The central tower is what first caught her eye. She followed the path of the tower from it's visible base to the top. "What's in the tower?" she thought out loud, her eyes still fixed on the structure. She hoped that's where they would be staying, it was the most at home she would get in a building, especially if there were windows.
The walls were tall too, and it made her wonder just how dangerous these creatures could get. At least they were safe inside the barrier, though she would hate to stay there for long. Exploring would interesting at least, as all the cities she had been in looked the same to her. Skyrah, from the outside at least, looked like an exception.

Maggie paled at the prospect of being in civilization again. "It's for the better," a part of her said. Was it right though? She followed at a distance, curiosity and confusion being her only motivations to even do so. Maggie hoped that it wasn't completely urban.
"A bridge between all universes?" she repeated below her breath. Maybe Shift had been here before? If he had, maybe she could get some answers on how to travel at a whim.

So she didn't lose her aim, but she wondered how she even summoned the makeshift knife in the first place. She tried replicating what she used to do, picturing summoning the feather as she flicked her wrist outward, but it provided no product. She gave up for now, in time to hear someone talk about survival. She winced at the suddenness of the noise but managed to tolerate it until he quieted back down.
Was there no civilization on this planet? Either way she wouldn't have to worry for herself--she was bird after all. She was better at surviving alone though, but if need be she'd try to help in what way she could. Maggie was already tired though, flying can take a toll on her energy and she wanted to take a break before she collapsed, which happened more than she would like to admit.

Why was Calverus attacking the stranger? Had the stranger done something wrong, had they known each other? Either way, Maggie wanted to stop the fighting. Perhaps she could try pinning Calverus? It looked like he had some kind of telekinesis though, so even if all of his limbs were pinned he still might be able to--she couldn't hesitate, someone's life was at stake here. When she turned into her human form she subconsciously summoned one of her feather quills. She didn't even know it existed until she brought her hand up. It looked like one of her normal primary feathers, but had a sort of metallic sheen on its edges. She tried aiming at the fabric of his arm, hoping to at least slow him down, and if lucky enough, pin the arm against one of the trees.

The beast's cry caused Maggie to squirm, her head slightly shaking to drive the sensation away. She had witnessed death before and had experienced no feeling, so why was she now feeling pity for it? She stored the thoughts in an imaginary box to unpack in the future.
With the now foreign emotions absent, a headache came in to fill the emptiness. She could handle headaches though, so she focused on the creatures that had gathered. The group was a menagerie of species, from humanoids to animals. Two of them seemed to be more experienced in this world compared to her, maybe if she stuck around she could get some answers?

Maggie knew she had arrived at the location. The noise was distracting, and she repeatedly found herself shaking her head and flinching instinctually. There were also a lot of creatures from what she could see from in the sky--at least five of them. She wanted to help, but Maggie wasn't sure how. She couldn't remember how to make the quill-like feathers she used to use for self defense and probably wouldn't be able to aim them anyways because of lack of practice. She cursed herself for her short-sightedness. Even without a plan, she flew lower to help in whatever way she could.

Aspen heard noise from the entrance of the camp. "I don't like the sound of that." he said to Gia. He ran towards the sound of the noise, noting the other vision holders preparing for battle. He clutched his sword in his hand and reached the front lines. Frost danced on the blade, twisting and turning to provide a stark contrast to the dark iron. He saw a few electro cicin mages, but were easily outnumbered by the vision holders. This wasn't it, was it? It felt to easy. Nevertheless, he readied his sword for an attack.

Maggie stood there in the dust Calverus left. After a moment to process what happened, she said to herself, "Well, that argument was unessesary, now wasn't it?"
She found it odd, however, that he left without even saying goodbye, or making any acknowledgement that he was going to leave. Being the curious magpie she was, Maggie decided to follow, albeit at a far distance and as Herself. She took off in a second and flew above the treetops. "I'll leave if there's nothing wrong," she told herself, but something within her disagreed.
Even though she was on the ground for only a few minutes, she missed being in the air. The way the wind moved through her wings--and the view, the view from the sky way her favorite part. All she could see at the moment were trees, but even in those trees were a variety of species, some of which she didn't even recognize. While mundane, it still made her happy.

"Ah." She murmured. She couldn't quite remember, but she swore that Earth was the only planet with life, which only helped her assumption that she wasn't even in her own universe. "Well, I suppose that should be our first goal." Maggie concluded. "I need to know whether or not I slipped," she added, her already quiet voice decrescendoed until the her last word was silent. "But I want to say someone brought me here, I can't do that."
She shifted in her place. She was trying her best to get used to both socializing and staying in her taller form, so even after the few moments she did the two she already felt tired and wanted to leave. "It'd be better if we stuck together," her contradicting thoughts reasoned. And so Maggie stayed. "It's better this way," she tried to reason, "I'll get used to it quicker if I do stay."

"Nice to meet you...Lord Calverus," she enunciated the "lord" slowly. Normally the word lord was used more as a general term from what she had heard, usually when depicting annoyance or disappointment. Had she already done something wrong, or was the word used differently here? Maggie saw the confusion that was apparent on Calverus's face even with the mask. "It's something that was...inherited." She tried clarifying. How was she supposed to explain it if she didn't know why she could do it. She got it from Shift, but he wasn't biologically related to her. She gave a nervous laugh, the quiet cackle indistinguishable from a crow's. "...Do you know where we are?" she asked after a bit of silence. "I'm not from here."

Maggie sighed mentally. "Of course it didn't work," a part of her complained. She didn't entirely want to, but she would have to turn into a human for easier communication. After a slight hesitation, she nodded to the person, but then quickly flew away.
Once she deemed herself obscured, she took a deep breath and turned into "Not herself." She found herself too tall in this form, and easily not as agile. But as she was in a foreign world, communication would be more useful at this time. She went back to the person, and with a voice almost as croaky as her bird calls she said: "Yes, I can speak. Call me Maggie."

Oh, the person noticed her. She didn't think this far. Maggie didn't really want to go into her human form at the moment, but it may be the only option she had. After a moment to think she concluded to stay in this form, but still try to approach the person without scaring him. She gave her best friendly chirp, which admittedly wasn't the best, and preened one of her feathers and held it in her beak. "Not an olive branch," Maggie thought as she approached the person, "But it will have to do."
