Okay, this question is purely curiosity,

Knowing how the pokeradar works on non premiums here is my question

What would happen if a non premium turns its pokeradar on, hatch an egg and that egg is a shiny?
This are my possible results:

1- the pokeradar will crash
2-the pokeradar will not count the pokemon
3- the pokeradar will count it as a no shiny
4- the pokeradar will count the pokemon as a shiny but will be okay whit it

Usually, when a user suddenly hatches a shiny within a lower chain# (i.e. 1, and 2.. etc).. it will be called as a "randomly-hatched" shiny. :O

The PokéRadar wouldn't count the hatched shiny, and doesn't even break the chain.. well, it's kind of a rare occurrence though. :B

I won the "Event Spriting Contest" as it says on News Announcement #224.

@Jacharias - Do you have proof of that ^^'

As far as I know, even if it's a lower chain pokémon, if the radar is on, it will count as a chain. Why else would the radar also send out notifications if the shiny hatches early?

@CatLady : No screenshot proof, sorry.. :(

I only saw a couple of users posted that they've suddenly hatched a shiny but, didn't count on their PokéRadar (or, didn't break it for non-Premium users)..

I asked the Admin from ages ago of how is that so.. and he said because it's a randomly-hatched shiny. :O

Here's the conversation :

While that may be true for actual random shinies - "chain 1" hatchlings - that doesn't apply to chains higher than that.

I once hatched a Shiny Numel at chain 2 (got lucky with random lab adopts haha) and my PokéRadar did take notice of it:

(That was before the PokéRadar update, as you can see by a) the date and b) the layout, but I don't think much of the mechanics would've changed with the update regarding the shiny/mega/shiny mega display options.)

HOWEVER. That was a premium chain, therefore it didn't break, of course.
Going by pure logic here, though, a non-premium chain (provided your radar actually having been turned on beforehand) should break if a shiny hatches at chain 2 or higher since, well, it's a chain, eh? The premium radar counted the shiny, so I don't see why a non-premium radar wouldn't.

How a non-premium radar behaves when confronted with a "chain 1" shiny however, I have no actual information (no firsthand experience) at this point, so I cannot confirm or deny anything here, as I only ever hatched random shinies while either being premium or not having had turned on my non-premium radar.
Though, going by the same logic as above - that premium and non-premium radars behave the same, save for the fact that non-premium radars reset - your non-premium chain wouldn't break for a random/chain 1 shiny as, if I'm not mistaken, a premium radar doesn't count these shinies (at least, you don't get a notification for it). But, again, I have no actual proof for that, so don't quote me on it, please. :'v
