My suggestion is to increase the avatar size from 150x150 to at least 300x300, which would improve the image quality where the avatar is larger, like forums and your profile. The icon size in notifications wouldn't change.

The reason for the current size limit, according to Riako, is purely for saving data, and to help people with slower internet. Another solution to this problem would simply be a data saving mode, that recompresses avatars & signatures in the forums ect.

Having one setting to help improve the general user experience seems like a fair trade off.

No support from my side, simply because 150x150 is really big enough in my opinion. I can't really imagine a 300x300 or bigger avatar would looking or fitting that good. ^^"

It would stay the same size, just have more pixels, so it'd be higher quality.

More pixels = bigger image

File size is what would affect quality.

No support. 150x150 is plenty for an avatar. Plus I'm one of those people with slower net. Rural areas are known for that :D
