Maybe it's because you're a kind person overall. Maybe it's because you like animals better than people. Whatever the reason, you have "the magic touch" with animals.
So you've been invited to take care of the most important animals of all.
You got a letter in the mail. It told you that, if you choose to take the job, you will be working for the most classified parts of the government. Once you accepted, another letter arrived telling you where to meet and what animals you would be taking care of.
After all, you didn't think you'd be caring for housecats, did you?
No, you'll be caring for magical creatures. Everything from phoenixes to hippocampi. The government needs your help with them because... well, something's obviously wrong.

Personality:
Despite her cutesy appearance, Lyn can be very cold. She prefers animals over people, and seems to have a lot of bad blood with various other people connected to the mythical creatures she takes care of. However, she's probably the best person to ask any questions about the "Magics", as she calls them, since Lyn has been with them and learning about them most of her life. She's a completely different person around animals, caring and as sweet as can be, willing to do a lot for them. Around people, she's more awkward so she can come off as rude or distant.

Ziu looks remarkably unremarkable. In fact, she looks mostly like an ordinary red retriever, with wavy red-gold fur, a very fluffy tail, and webbed paws hidden mostly by her hair. She does, however, have some differences. Her tongue is a sort of pinkish-purple, mostly still pink, but with a little bit of the darker touch. Her saliva is also not completely clear, it can seem just a tiny bit milky, and many seem afraid of it, but it's harmless most of the time. Her eyes are also not the usual dark brown or black, instead they're an odd green-gray color. Finally, she wears a black cord around her neck, and on the end of it is a small glass orb, about two and a half times the size of a marble, filled with little dandelion seeds. The necklace looks very human-like, but she won't let anyone take it off. Other than those small things, she's basically a dog.
Personality:
Again, very dog-like. Easily excitable, eager to meet new people, and an attention hog (she absolutely loves being scratched behind the ear). Ziu is much more intelligent, though, as smart as a human being, and can process speech particularly well, allowing her to give very appropriate emotional reactions to things being said around her. She can also be extremely aggressive towards people she doesn't like, and very protective of the ones she does like. In those cases, she can turn vicious, and almost seems to radiate power. Supposedly, she has an owner, and she's disappointed that they left her with Lyn, but she rarely shows it. In fact, the necklace she always wears is her owner's, and she'll guard it with her life, snapping and growling at people who even try to touch it.
