"That's kinda like the opposite of me." shadow said "I mean, people think I'm mean, rude, dangerous...." She trailed off but quickly picked up where she left off "but none of that is true. I might have scars, dress like a dangerous person, and can easily rip through skin with my nails." She paused a moment to show Halo her claw like nails. She's had them for a month now and no idea how she got them. She just... woke up one day with them after having a dream of being a wolf. "but I'm kind and gentle. As long as you don't annoy me." She finished.
[her nails look like these just that they're her actual nails and no gems

"There are many different types of strength though."Linna states."There is a physical strength like what my friend Lucifer relies on.There is also a mental strength though as well.Everyone needs a bit of each to make them truly strong.That is why you two are together a lot.Tanio has the physical strength while Maru has the mental strength.Yes, the two of you by yourself can accomplish many great things but together you accomplish even more."

Mahalo looks up at Shadow, her clear blue eyes gentle on the surface, but shining with an odd coldness deep within them. "Ah, humans are so complex. The have opinions, they take appearances into account. They see the surface, their side of the argument and barely more. They cannot see someone's true intentions and emotions. My species... we can see right to the core of each other. We do not hide our opinions, and there are no laws to keep from violence. The only laws are the laws of our species, which tell us to gain dominance at all costs. My species is powerful, but there are not many of us here, doing what is right, because we usually cannot handle having someone else in charge. My cousin... Arca taught him that lesson quickly." She sighs, glancing down, her rounded ears drooping.

Maru twitches her ears, and doesn't look up. "Six months and we are pitted against each other in the battle for life. The strongest with the best genetics will survive, the other will die, and the winners superior genetics will be passed on." She mutters.

"Humans are more peaceful. Yes, there is still violence, but many magical creatures not only have to fight nature and each other to survive, but our own families and instincts and traditions." Maru mutters. "One day, I will murder my brother in battle. I will rip out his throat, taste his flesh and his blood. I will burn his corpse with the flames of the sun, and I will move on and forget him." Her voice turns cold, almost scary.

"Well, that's to be expected I guess..." Shadow said looking at her 'claws' "You're the first creature that didn't react to my claws." She looked up her eyes a bit watery and her voice was shaky "A-anyone who saw them either called me a freak or ran... and not just humans. Animals wouldn't go anywhere near me, like the saw the beast from that disney movie." She finished letting out a shaky breath as a tear ran down her cheek.

"That's because, darling, you're not the only dangerous one here." Mahalo looks up again. "I have been looked at as a monster for all of my 412 years of life. Pups would shy away from me, even Arca would raise her eyebrows at me in that way she does, expecting me to do something stupid or dangerous. But now... ha, well, Arca ended up needing my kindness, in the end." Mahalo give a small smile.

Maru shakes her head. "We are not told to do so. It is in our blood." She looks up, her blue eyes shining with an inner insanity. "I want to tear my brother apart, when the time is right."

Maru shakes her head. "I've watched humans. You're very interesting. Truly, most of you are kind souls. Mahalo believes it because she sees your souls. I believe it because I see your behavior."

"I'm sorry, darling. I don't mean to be talkative. It's best for you to focus on the positive things, especially since it's so close to the time for sleep. Good dreams only come from good thoughts, and good dreams give you good rest. You have a long day tomorrow." She glances up at the rapidly sinking sun.

"Yeah..." Shadow said standing up "See you around." she said as she walked over to the tree she slept in last night, quickly hung upside down like a bat and watched the sun set.

Maru nods. "We must be leaving now, for sleeping with our pack. Goodbye, Linna." She stands, padding away, and Tanio scrambles to follow.

Mahalo stares at the sunset quietly for a little longer, until the clearing is entirely clear of all magical creatures except Cyanide and herself. She opens her mouth, taking in a soft breath. Then she starts to sing, her voice sounding somewhere between actually singing and humming. Her note wanders, her voice growing louder and softer, singing the sun to sleep.

As the sun sends it's last dying rays over the trees, Mahalo's song dies off, and she curls up where she is, flopping her wings over her body as a makeshift blanket. Cyanide looks up at the treehouses, stands, and leaves the clearing silently as a shadow.

Faith and Lucifer came to stand with Richard and Linna.After a few minutes Faith stretches."Come on, let's find somewhere to sleep."Linna nods and gets a piggyback ride from Faith while Richard wraps an arm around Lucifer's waist."The song reminded me of our lullaby."Linna states quietly."Same here sweetheart."Faith responded.
