I must've missed that, because I don't remember seeing that ever happening; guess my friends list didn't join in ^^'
But, what I heard and saw from other Mods, linked pictures have always been cause for action; either PM or warning. What if someone were to name-and-shame someone in a picture, but put a warning before it. Would we not be allowed to take action either? What if intentionally provoking users through images... Should we allow that as well?
As I mentioned before, images [and their warning] will merely be used as a way to get around our rules and attack users, as some have done in the past already. I'd rather not have that happen again.

'Nowadays'; do you have anything supporting that?
You can even tell me personally, if you don't want to risk it publicly.

I/We understand that we might've come down too hard when the rules were freshly updated, but do you have any proof of that still happening today? Yes, we became stricter and realize we may have gone too far at the start, but referring back to that time, wouldn't be fair if it's not happening anymore...

Yes, linking something that would intentionally provoke users is actually a problem (such as an image saying "meme is a <insult>!") but swears are different things. They are everywhere nowadays. Now, yeah, a link to a image with the female dog swear should be warned, but when a swear is not the main thing on the link, then just a "warning, there are swears somewhere" should be enough for us not to get in trouble. But that doesn't happens.

I do have a link to support that.
I once linked something from tumblr, in which the main post didn't contain any swear at all- but the blog's other posts, which are shown further below the page, had a swear and I got warned.

I'll concede that swears in comments shouldn't be judged as harshly, as they could be added after the material was linked or could require scrolling, but if there's swearing in the image/video being shared, I personally feel there's no place for it, warning or not. Even if it's just one swear word in a 100-word text, it could still be the main point of the text.

...I think you kinda missed me asking for current proof?
We know it happened in the past, as I acknowledged in my previous post, but if that warning was from before the start of this thread, it doesn't count as proof that it's still happening.

I mean, if its only one swear, then okay, put a warning before it then we should be fine. But if there is like, 5 swears on the video, then yeah.

I don't have any current proof, but Im sure that I will get warned by posting a family-friendly video and theres a swear comment on it.

...Yeah, no. That would depend entirely on the kind of swear, same as it does now. Giving a blanket statement like that, would only cause people to take advantage of it and cause our hands to be tied.

So, me saying you wouldn't, doesn't change anything about how you think?
Then I guess this discussion is over, as nothing I could add would change your mind.

Though, assuming nothing changes, even though there hasn't been a repeat, isn't really conductive to change.

I mean, there are swears that honestly, aren't actual swears, even if people still get offended by them. For example, damn, hell...as long as you don't say something like "damn you!" then its not really a swear.

Honestly, there is really no way of knowing if it has changed or not, unless someone links a youtube video that is family-friendly and theres a swear on it but they putted a warning before.

Yeah, like meme said, as long as they aren't directed to anyone, it should be allowed, or at least not punished too badly.

Before you start telling us to not warn users for specific [possibly non] swear words, have either of you received a warning for using said swear word or are you using the same 'I never used it, because I'm sure I will' implications?

You seem dedicated in changing how we work, but if you haven't experienced what you want us to change, how can you be sure that there is something to change?

Actually, getting warned for minor swears aren't an actual problem anymore. And I have experienced what I wan't to change.

(why was this post so small)

And as I said, continuing to talk about what happened, before this thread was made, could be considered redundant.
If there are any current warnings based on what you experienced in the past, I can understand continuing to bump this. If not, bumping this again and again, for something that you can't confirm is still happening, only draws attention to how it has been, not how it is.

I guess your right. I feel like doing an experiment, but I guess it would be some sort of warning bait? Still, if someone posts here about the problem still being a thing, then I will continue this.

Quote from ta_mecAnother thing, they could like "filter" swears

I don't know much about this suggestion, but you have to be able to Filter your PalPad/ PM. I just don't know why that doesn't exist here, unlike most other games. It would reduce a lot of unnecessary bans. If a person does not want to get exposed to swear words, yes -- they could just filter them. Come on, banning the user, does not delete the word from the memory of the person who is so allergic to swear words. Also, I am not looking for a forum fight over here. I have just expressed my personal thoughts over this issue. Please do not get on top yourself.
