You know the PalPad blocker right? There should be one for PM. If someone is not on your friendlist, they can still PM, and could result in SPAM.
Edited: I meant a button where you can only receive PM from users on your friendlist.

But wouldn't that be a bit tedious? Having to friend someone every time you want to discuss something (such as trading) would be inconvenient.

Well, there could be like a 'Search User' bar where if you want to discuss, it temporarily unblocks to that person during the conversation.

What would happen if someone wants to ask someone else for a trade? I'll explain with an example.... (Let A and B be two users..)

User A makes a feed, 'Selling mega charizard X for nuggets, contact for more info." User A has the suggested feature on.
User B wants to make an offer for the trade. But user A does not have User B on his friend list, so User B cannot contact A at all! Because A does not accept pal pads and PM, and a potential trade is destroyed.

This feature is very similar to blocking ALL users which are not on our friend list by not being able to send any message.
What do you expect? People sending messages using plushies? Using delibird delivery?

No support.

No suport, if you cant PalPad (PP) someone, then you have to send them a Private Message (PM). And if someone spams you with PM's, then report them if you not okay with it. To what Pkmn said, thats pretty much what would happen with blocking all PM's from people not on your friends list.
