I don't think we need to involve the outer world into this but again at the same time don't you think that even if people's usernames are changed than still some person have to see it first so that they can change it again we can't stop them who are intentionally doing it and they can't send you friend request if they are banned you know and why would other people send them links to those offensive players ?
Is'nt that naming and shaming ?

I'm giving you an example, not me bringing you to the outside world.
The example is close enough, take it a metaphor, won't you?

I'm repeating what I said before.
Yes, one have to search for a certain word sometimes to find these users. They are intentional, but what is your point here? Just because someone knows a certain word and curiosity got the best of them it's their fault for being human?
If someone links to the profile of an user and isn't especially shaming them, unless the user that had their account linked asked them not to do it/to remove the link, it isn't naming and shaming and is not reportable.

When they are online or before the namechange, they could've added an user.
Quoting what JustMe said in the previous page.
Quote from JustMeA user with a very inappropriate username, similar to the one you linked to, added me as a friend (I didn't add them) before they got banned. Now whenever I scroll through list of the people who have added me, I have to see that language.

Well now as per your example with the user 'JustMe' don't you think he was given a friend request before that guy was locked ?
Don't you think even if this suggestion is applied these things would happen with certain users when people make their id they can send friend request with those offensive names ?
This can't be stopped initially as they make their account and after they are lock the topic ends.

JustMe is an user on the previous page, it's not an example, it's a true statement.
JustMe is a she. Please respect other's pronouns and atleast bother to try and check it.

What exactly is your point? You are repeating nonsense full of flaws and contradictions which I had already answered. I understand that english may not be your first language but can you make yourself understandable?

So you want to leave the accounts view-able, yet locked, causing dramas in a children-friendly website?

No, when they are locked it still doesn't end. Re-read what JustMe wrote.

@Unsolved:
You are clearly not getting what -Sen is trying to get across to you.

Quote from U_MDon't you think even if this suggestion is applied these things would happen with certain users when people make their id they can send friend request with those offensive names ?

No, because their usernames would be censored. If you actually read the first post, you would see that -Sen included a feature that would stop users from choosing insulting usernames when they first register and when they change their usernames. (Of course, it depends on Riako to choose whether that's necessary or not.)

Quote from U_Mi am not going to repeat one thing hundred times i'll stop here and last thing if you don't understand it's not my fault

I'm sorry? Not only is it -Sen who is repeating himself, the only person who can understand your posts is you yourself. Your posts do not explain any of your own opinions on this matter and just seem to be a confused mashup of random thoughts.

Quote from U_M i am not doing any drama

No, -Sen did not state that you were the cause of drama. What he DID state was that these accounts when left alone could cause drama over the profanity in their usernames.

If I'm not getting that oh-so-important point you want to express, then just type it in a post so we can understand. Don't just say "you don't get it no support", it doesn't help at all.

I'll just quietly point out here that I have the setting for friend notifications turned off, for personal reasons, so I never got the notification that they added me. I only noticed it later, after they had been banned, when I was scrolling through the list of people who have added me.

@Unsolved_Mystery, in your last post did you mean that this suggestion, if implemented, wouldn't change anything? I disagree with this. It would change the fact that I have to see rude language whenever I view my friend list. It would also stop other users from coming across the foul language when they are using the site.

The thing is, that sort of language is not allowed on this site. When it appears in feeds, about-me's or forum posts the offensive language is removed. I see no reason why usernames should be any different.

Hey, people, what's wrong with those kind of words? They haven't done anything to anybody by themselves, it's just that people misuse them. Well, they don't misuse them, but use them with derogatory intentions. The words themselves are just there, the best on their kind to express that kind of feeling. You are putting them like they are the worst of all sins and children should always get away from them because they are intrinsecally "wrong". Y'know, people have different moral, you shouldn't impose yours to others.

Anyway, it's different when some people make accounts like the ones you mentioned that insulted Ecco and Princess, because those were directly insulting them. Those kind of usernames shouldn't be tolerated imo, and the change of the username is a good move by Riako, and I think that's what should be done in all cases (because it's so rare).

It's not a matter of the words themselves, but it just contradicts the whole site and the words themselves and the words are inappropriate in the modern world.
Yes, some childrens these days are eccentric by nature, but as I kept quoting;
Quote from Site RulesPokéHeroes should be a friendly community-based browsergame for every age. To ensure this, it is forbidden to use offensive swear words or to make any statement that is inappropriate for any age.

It's 'fine' if users were to use swear words as long as they aren't offensive(exeptions for the f bomb and some more) but to use it offensively is a big no-no (such as the users I linked + some more words). Though- if one is cussing publicly and a person whom is uncomfortable with these words or found them offensive, etc can report it.
You said so yourself, people have different morals and we should't impose ours to others, so if someone is uncomfortable with these words you don't force them to just be fine with it and 'tough up'.

Perhaps it would be easier if all users who were permanently banned have their usernames switched to [banned user] once their account is locked? It would take quite some effort on the moderators' part to censor out all usernames with profanities, due to how the word used may be in other languages, etc.

Censoring usernames does not mean that the page URL will be changed when the user's profile is accessed though, which may pose an issue.

Edit: Just realized that there is the same suggestion on the front page. Oopsies! But yes, full support for this suggestion here!

I would love to see this implemented, however I am not sure if this would work- What if someone had Bass in their nickname- would that turn into B*** or would there be a way to bypass that if it wouldn't be censored than i am all for this suggestion, if it would be it would basically mean that there would be a long long list of words you couldn't use due to them being partially censored.

I support this. My sister has an account here and I don't want her to see that language.

Full support. I think this is a great idea because I'm 11 and I hate seeing those kinds of things. I know, the 1st amendment says we have the freedom of speech, but it also says as long as it harms no one.
I'm awesome!
And all those who are making suggestions that will make PH safer, I agree with you and thank you.
