If you hatch a random shiny, it says you are at chain 1 but 0 shinies. With that logic, if you start hunting something and you hatch a shiny a chain #1, it won't count for the chain. Is this a bug?

Well, as you illustrated, the pokémon will still count for the chain and make your hunt 'official', but it won't count as a shiny of that chain.

~~I'm not a shiny hunter, though, so I don't know if this is still an issue?~~
