Halloween, a wonderful time of the year where ghost, goblins, witches, demons, and all other manners of things that go bump in the night come out to play. Tricks are a large part of this celebration, but sweets and treats are a much larger and more appreciated part of it. Halloween, Ol' Hallow's Eve, Samhain, and Dia de los Muertos (Also known as day of the dead) are all names for this one wonderful occasion. A festival to part from the brighter half of the year, a ritual to protect oneself from the darkness lurking, or even a wonderful event to celebrate those that have been lost dear to us. The overall feel of it is the same. It's a time to celebrate in one form or another!


So, to roll with the times, here's a wonderful contest consisting of two parts. A free Wrapped up Raffle, where you have chances to win a range of goodies, but you only get one entry into that. Then there's also the Art contest, where there's little limit to what you can do.

Creative Creation
This is a pretty easy art contest. You will be judged on a range of things, the most minor one being your artistic ability. (This means, even if you don't think you're good enough, feel free to TRY, as there's a lot to consider)

What you can win: (This will update as the month goes on)
Strange Spooks (Shinies): +?
Spooks and friends (Pokémon): Regice, Shaymin x2, and many other normal spooks.
Sweets (Rare Candy/Honey): 13/2
Mystery Boxes: 30
Trinkets (Plushies): 250 DPs
Candy Coins (PD): No set amount


What to do for the art contest:
This is pretty simple. Just do an image relating to the holiday (Please read first paragraph of this thread to see the options). It can be as simple as a pumpkin or ghost to as complex as a hoard of zombies, or anything you can imagine. No need to be cautious about how "mature" the image is, as blood, gore, and the like is all fine, but so is cute and friendly stuff. Remember, while Halloween may be spooky and scary, the day of the dead is festive and fun! If you do an image that might give a seven-year-old nightmares, it'd be polite to have it in a hide-tag with a warning so that nobody opens it and gets surprised/scared.

Any form of art is accepted. This means digital (computer done), Traditional (done on paper), sculpture, 3d models, anything.


Judging:
Me and my friend will be judging this contest together. Here's what we will be judging on:

Quality - This one is very minor in the judging process. Just, if it's so poor quality that we can't make it out at all, we can't judge it, lol. And if all the colors are too similar, then it's hard to judge. (1 Max point [Either it passes or fails])

Effort - If it's clear you put a lot of work into it, you'll get better marks than one that looks thrown together in five seconds. It's usually clear if effort is put into an image, no matter what the quality is) (30 max points)

Stayed on topic - If you post something completely irrelevent then, while it will be accepted, it will not get judged past this point. (50 max points)

Creativity - The more creative you are, the better. (100 max points)

Bonus: Pokémon related will earn a few extra points in judging. As will having a background to the image.

Why you consider it Spooky: Well, Their PokeDex Entries Are Super Creepy, And i remember that Old episode of the anime Were Hypno And Drowzee Switched Kids Minds, And they believed they were pokemon. And i saw this episode when i was SUPER young so it freaked the Heck out of me.

Why you consider it Spooky: Imagine a dark alley. A shadowy figure lurks. A pair of cold frozen eyes glimmers from the void. Then you see those feral fangs and sharp claws. Then it shrieks, afterwards, it laughs mischievously. Boo~

Zoroark is pretty much scary just by looking at it. c:

Spooky Pokémon: Mega Banette, if you don't mind repeated pokemon.
Why you consider it Spooky: I find it spooky-cute I think it's spooky mainly because of the story of Banette itself, being like an abandoned doll searching for revenge, plus it's related with vudú, which I find interesting and at the same time scary. When banette mega evolves it gives even more a spooky feeling, as it looks even more like a doll with all those zippers everywhere, reminds me of poor dolls that are old/broken. Plus...well look at mega ban's official art...don't tell me it's not like "I'm going to chase you all in your worst nightmares and do some vudú with you" with an evil smile :b
