With nothing left to see at the Viridian Forest, Phoebe along with her Poke teammates fully trained and ready to go headed to the detour outside of Route 2, "I think I see an interesting pathway", Phoebe said. So she went southeast and saw an opening, she then turned north and continued on, "Lotus use Vine Whip that is blocking the pathway", so Lotus the Bellsprout used the Vine Whip and the small tree was sliced down in half. "We are getting close everyone, all that is left is to turn west and north and soon we are getting close to Pewter City", Phoebe said. Phoebe and her Poke teammates marched on and with a big step made it to Pewter City, "Welcome to Pewter City, time for me to check out that board because I see it says "Fossil Museum, bring your curiosity to the next level", Phoebe looked at the museum building and thought, "I will probably go in the museum later, but now I've got to go to the Pokemon Center", she said.

in the morning Umbro ran strait to the gym to battle brock the pewter city gym leader when he got to the gym he started the gym battle right away sweet he is a rock type gym leader i have the type advantage he said as brock led with geodude Umbro led with nuzleaf "nuzleaf use razor leaf and then use tackle" both moves hit and geodude was hurt bad he used rock throw but nuzleaf dogged "nuzleaf finish off the geodude with another razor leaf then come back to the pokeball" the geodude fainted and brock sent out an onix "oh no an onix these are tough ill have to use eevee" Umbro said and sent out eevee brocks onix used tackle and then rock tomb witch left eevee almost fainted "eevee use swift on yourself then use tackle on onix" eevee did this and when the tackle hit the onix the swift made the hit almost twice as hard and made the onix faint "yes we defeated our first gym he took the gym badge and went to the pokecenter to heal his pokemon

Phoebe was at the Pokemon Center when she realized that she was supposed to face the Gym Leader, "Oh no! I was supposed to face the gym leader", Phoebe said while her Poke teammates followed her. "I wasn't sure if I was ready to face the gym leader, I mean each and every trainer should battle the gym leader and get the badge", Phoebe said and soon she thought of something, "Maybe another Poke teammate will be a big help, should I go for it?", Phoebe wondered but Hubie the Piplup appeared and told Phoebe to get that new Poke Teammate, "Thanks Hubie, it is greatly appreciated, maybe a new Poke teammate will be great", Phoebe smiled.

After battling his way through the detour to Pewter City, Teo stopped by the Pokemon Center to heal up his partner, then took a quick trip to look around.

"Do you feel up to challenging the gym?" he asked Berry as the two observed some flowerbeds. Berry gave a great yawn in response, and Teo laughed. It looked like he wanted to rest after facing those trainers. The Bulbasaur fought well in battles, but Teo couldn't help but notice that he was rather lazy outside of them.

"Hmm... in that case, I'll check out the museum for now, and then face the gym after." Returning Berry to his Poke Ball where he could nap, Teo headed over to the Pewter Museum of Science with more than a little excitement. After all, it had a reputation as an impressive institution.

Phoebe along with her Poke Teammates headed back down to Route 2 which is the northern area, "Okay, I think getting a new teammate will definitely help improve the skills and attacks", Phoebe thought carefully but she took a deep breath and said, "Alright, it's time to get another Poke teammate", Phoebe said as she walked up to the northern Route 2, looking around she waited to see which Pokemon will battle, then to her surprise it was a Pidgey. "Alright, here it goes", Phoebe said then she said, "Arizona, let's go", Arizona the Nidoran female appeared and was prepared for battle, Phoebe thought carefully about which move should Arizona the Nidoran female use then Phoebe said, "Arizona use Scratch", with the claws Arizona use the Scratch move and it did some damage but then Pidgey used the Tackle which did little damage but then something happened, the wild Pidgey was poisoned. Phoebe was surprised, "Wait a minute, Arizona had a special ability called Poison Point, this is astounding", Phoebe said then she said to Arizona, "Arizona use Scratch", the Nidoran female use the Scratch move on the Pidgey which did a little damage, once the attack was done Phoebe used a Poke ball and the silhouette of Pidgey entered the Pokeball, the Pokeball shook once, then it shook twice, afterwards it shook a third time and it stopped shaking, Phoebe caught a Pidgey, "Alright, everyone Pidgey is joining our team, let's head back to Pokemon Center to heal this Pidgey", Phoebe said and her Poke teammates agreed.

Darryl proceeded to make his way to Pewter City, looking to earn himself the first gym badge. "This should be a good warmup for the Gym Challenge back at home, now where is that gym..." Darryl thought to himself "Ah! It's the one with the orange roof, and I think I see someone familiar in front of it!". Darryl proceeds to make his way to the gym and encounters Marcia. "Oh, Hello there! I think we met in Viridian Forest, or what's left of it; Are you about to battle the gym too?"

At the Pokemon Center, the Pidgey that Phoebe caught was fully healed from the poison and once appeared out of the Pokeball it started to smile, "Oh hi there! Welcome to the team the name's Phoebe and these are my teammates Hubie, Arizona and Lotus", Phoebe introduced herself and her teammates. The Pidgey smiled and started to fly landing on the top of Phoebe's hat, "I'm so glad you are feeling better, but I have to give you a nickname", Phoebe said. She thought carefully and soon Phoebe had an idea, "How about I call you Percy the Pidgey, sounds good?", Phoebe asked and Percy the Pidgey smiled as if it was a great name suited for a Pidgey. Soon Phoebe said to her teammates, "Okay everyone, it's time to head to Pewter City Gym because I think there will be trainers already lined up", Phoebe said and her Poke teammates, "Then off we go to the Pewter City Gym", Phoebe said with a smile. Phoebe departed the Pokemon center and started to walk up north then turned to the west and waited in line for her turn to battle the gym leader.

Indigo and Pecan walk into the gym, Indigo looking somewhat nervous and unprepared, and Pecan being as excited and determined as ever. *Pecan literally beats up Brock without Indigo saying a word*
Indigo picks up his eevee, eyes wide, walking as fast as they could.( Indigo could only hope Brock wouldn't press charges)

Phoebe prepared herself for the battle against the Pewter City Gym Leader, "Alright Hubie, Arizona, Lotus and Percy, are you ready?", Phoebe asked and her Poke teammates nodded. Phoebe took a deep breath and said, "Here it goes", Phoebe entered the Pewter City Gym from the doors and she was absolutely amazed at the set up, as Phoebe walked up she was stopped by a male Junior Trainer, "Excuse miss, the name's Jayson can I challenge you?", Phoebe was surprised and said, "Yes, if it's for the gym leader battle then I'm ready", so the battle against Male Junior Trainer Jayson and Phoebe was about to begin. The Male Junior Trainer sent out a Kanto Sandshrew, while Phoebe sent out her Piplup Hubie. "Sandshrew use Defense Curl", Sandshrew tried to use the move but it didn't work, "Alright Hubie, use Bubble", Hubie used the Bubble which did damage on Sandshrew who was a Ground Type, Phoebe realized that Water moves are super effective against Ground Type, the Sandshrew fainted, "Yikes, Sandshrew", but the Male Junior Trainer had one more Pokemon, "Geodude, let's do it", Geodude appeared then Phoebe said, "Hubie, switch out, Lotus let's do it", Lotus the Bellsprout appeared. Phoebe said, "Lotus, use Vine Whip", the Bellsprout used the Vine Whip attack and it was a critical hit on the Geodude, the Geodude fainted. "I give, you are a great trainer, good luck against Brock", Jayson the Junior Male Trainer said and shook Phoebe's hand as a thank you, Phoebe was ready to face Brock but she sees a familiar face entering in, it was Marcia.

Marcia's Pokemon happily waltz through Pewter City, amazed by the architecture and dense population. Shelly only really knew the outskirts of Pallet Town's wilderness while Sweetie only experienced life inside Viridian Forest, so both were enamored with such a city. "Ya know, guys, there are bigger cities coming up! The map says there's this reealllyy big city called Saffron City-- with gold-colored roads and two gyms! Can you believe it?" she remarks. Coming from a tiny island, the Kanto region was truly astounding in its technology. She could only dream of a place with buildings that touched the sky way back home. "Ooh! The very first gym! I know you guys are excited, so let's get in there!" she says. To her dismay, there's a Junior Trainer blocking her way to the intimidating Gym Leader, but he turns out to be easy work with Shelly's Water Gun. "Oh, good! We're here!" Brock towers over her, a very tall and almost intimidating man. It's almost comical how the two clashed. Only then did her tunnel vision wear off, and she saw a familiar face. "Pheobe, hi!" she waves from a few feet away. "Hey, you're good at battles. Let's battle Brock together?" she asks. She quickly looks up at Brock, who looks back down on the short Trainer. "My rock-hard stubbornness makes it hard for me to say no to a challenge like a double battle. But be warned, I'll bring out an extra Pokemon to even the score!" he announces. Unbothered by this caveat, Marcia doubles down. "Ooh, a double battle would be so fun!" Sweetie spins excitedly in agreement.

Phoebe smiled and said to Marcia, "Let's do this", Phoebe sent out her Piplup Hubie and Marcia brought in her Squirtle, "This is going to be good, but let's stay focus in this gym battle", Phoebe said. She already knew that she had a grass type Pokemon and the water type Pokemon, Phoebe had to think very carefully then she said, "I see that Brock has sent out his Geodude, it looks like I have to focus on the Geodude while I wonder which Pokemon that Marcia's Squirtle will take on", Phoebe said.

Marcia jumped in excitement! "Great!" Brock smiles and sends out two Geodude. One sparkles when sent out, shimmering gold. "Wooow, that one looks cool!" she remarks. "Imagine a piece of that rock on a necklace!" she thinks to herself. "Maybe I'll be able to chip a piece off!" Sending out Squirtle, she decides to hit the shiny Geodude not with a super-effective Water Gun but with a Pound to chip off a piece of the rare Pokemon's rocky exterior. Shelly swipes a small piece of golden rock in her shell before going back to her trainer.

Now it was Phoebe's turn, "Hubie use Bubble", Hubie used the Bubble attack on the regular Geodude, it did lots of damage but it had a sturdy ability, the Geodude that was not shiny used Defense Curl, then Phoebe thought carefully on what should Hubie do next, "Alright, Hubie use Bubble one more time", Phoebe said, Hubie used the Bubble attack again on the regular Geodude (that was not shiny) and it was critical hit, the non-shiny Geodude fainted. Phoebe took a deep breath, "So far so good", Phoebe said.

Marcia cheered. "You go, Hubie!" she shouts as he attacks. "Shelly, finish off the other Geodude with a Water Gun!" Shelly attacks, and having broken the Geodude's Sturdy ability, it goes down. "You think you've got me beat? Not yet!" Brock smiles. He sends out his last PokeBall, containing Onix. It's entrance on the battlefield set a menacing shadow on the two trainers and their Pokemon. Immediately, Brock orders it to use Rock Throw, damaging Shelly almost to the point of collapse. "Dang it, a critical hit!" she sighs. "Shelly, come back! and Sweetie, come on out, and use Harden!" she orders.

(I'd like my Kakuna to evolve here if that's cool :p)

Phoebe had to stay focus but then she had an idea, "Alright Hubie, time to use Bubble", Hubie used the Bubble which was a super effective move, then the Onix used the Screech move, luckily Hubie the Piplup hanged on. Then Phoebe had another idea, "Hubie switch out, Lotus it's your turn", Lotus the Bellsprout appeared. The Onix used the screech move again but it didn't work then Phoebe said, "Lotus use Vine Whip", the Bellsprout used the move which was super effective but strangely the Onix hung on then use the tackle which did a little damage on the Bellsprout, Phoebe said, "Lotus use Vine Whip", the Bellsprout used the Vine Whip attack again and it was a critical and super effective hit and the Onix fainted. "Great job Lotus and Hubie", Phoebe said and she turned to Marcia, "Thanks for teaming up with me".

"Yay, we won!" Marcia cheers. "Alright, I relent. Your combined power was too much even for my enhanced team. I bestow the Boulder Badge to you both!" he says sternly, before handing over the little grey pins. Marcia attaches it to her Trainer Card as she walks out, looking at how it shines in the sunlight. She felt great, and so did her Pokemon! "Alright guys. We did what you wanted and got the gym badge, but now we get to do what I want. Museum time!" she sings gleefully, to the dismay of her already bored Pokemon.

The Pewter City Museum is open and operating, seemingly as usual. Calm, jazzy music plays over the hushed talk of museum-goers discussing the exhibits. All would seem normal, except for the scientists behind the counter pacing nervously. Their monitors are beeping uncontrollably and incessantly. One scientist runs out of the Museum, hurrying towards the West exit. "Hey! You can't pass unless you have Pewter City's Gym Badge! The dutiful guard recites. "Look, I'm a scientist from the Museum. There's a situation near Mt. Moon... we can't get into details, but we need you to clear Route 3. Don't let anyone through, even trainers who have the badge! Gosh, we'll have to contact law enforcement to set up another detour if we can't fix this..." he laments. The guard, concerned, relents, heading into the Route to clear it of any trainers.

Meanwhile, the scientists at the Museum are behind the desk, trying to fix their monitors without alerting guests.

Teo had been keeping an eye on the commotion behind the counter as he checked out the exhibits, which was difficult, because he really was interested in the museum's collection. Perhaps traveling with a group had instilled somewhat of a sense of adventure in him, as he couldn't help but wonder what was going on. Regardless, he listened in on the scientists' conversation, and on seeing a familiar face entering the museum, he headed over to say hi to Marcia.

"We might have to adjust our planned travel route after Pewter City, it sounds like something big has happened," he informed her. He couldn't help but wonder at how similar the situation was to what had happened at Viridian Forest.

After getting the Boulder Badge from Brock, Phoebe decided to heal her Pokemon at the Pokemon Center, "That battle was intense and it was so awesome", Phoebe said with a smile on her face. Her Poke teammates agreed, Phoebe entered the Pokemon Center and her team was fully healed from battle, then she thought about the next steps on what she should do. "Okay, I know the next Gym Leader is Misty who is an expert in Water type Pokemon, I got Lotus the Bellsprout which is a huge boost but I think I might be missing an Electric type Pokemon which could be another help as well", Hubie the Piplup looked at Phoebe and smiled, "Hubie, everything is alright but it's just that I need to figure out the next steps", Phoebe said. Just then, she sees Professor Oak's assistant coming in to the Pokemon Center then he sees Phoebe, "Excuse me, I'm looking for Phoebe", then Phoebe said, "That will be me", the Professor Oak's assistant saw Phoebe and asked Phoebe a small favor, "Phoebe, the Professor has got a special Pokemon egg that I think you will be perfect for", Phoebe was surprised, "Me, why?", the Professor assistant explained, "Well, the Professor is researching the pre evolutions on some of the Pokemon from the Kanto region and this Pokemon egg is a start, so will you take care of this Pokemon egg as it waits to hatch?", Phoebe thought and said, "Yes! I will take care of that Pokemon egg", the Professor assistant was happy, "Thank you Phoebe, once the egg hatches take a photo with your Pokephone and Professor Oak will have a look at it", Phoebe said to the Professor Assitant, "Okay", the Professor assistant smiled and departed the Pokemon Center, Phoebe looked at the Pokemon egg, "This could get interesting", she said.
