Tashi lifted the hammer clear... revealing a person, cowering, shielding their face with a mouse mask. "It's one of them!" he snarled. "One of the Chessmaster's pets!"

The person in the mouse mask looked up in alarm and narrowly avoided being hit in the face with the hammer as they scrambled backwards, tripping every step. "No-No!" A disguised voice, sex indistinguishable. The person planted their hands on the ground just before Tashi hit them in the face again and pushed themself out of the way.

The two stood, panting, facing each other. Tashi set the mallet onto his shoulder and glared at the person. He was growing into Quick Silver again.

"Spying? You grow more pathetic by the minute." Quick Silver sneered.

The person didn't respond to Quick Silver's taunt, instead lifting their chin and waiting for the other heroes to emerge from the shattered window.

The person with the mouse mask locked eyes with Zuzu. They took a careful step backwards, their hands finding the edge of the building.

Quick Silver lifted his mallet.

All three of them stared at one another. Who would make the first move? Who would be the first to attack? To flee?

Zuzu studied the opponent carefully, sizing them up based off of their outfit and how high of a rank you would need to get it. This might be tough, but we got the whole station and a bunch of pro heroes vs this guy.

Suddenly, the person darted off around the corner.

Quick Silver cursed and the silver began to melt in his hands into a chain. "Come on!" he jabbed Zuzu in the shoulder as he began running after them.

But the villain was gone. Vanished.

Quick Silver stood at the corner. "What happened?" he demanded. "Where'd they go? Did you see them?" He craned his head, shielding his eyes from the sunlight as he looked at the walls.

A shadow was creeping up by his side... a shadow with no form...

The shadow yelped and with a flash of metal they tore away one of Quick Silver's knives. The hero gave a cry of shock. The person emerged, a cloak wrapped around them, holding up the knife- which they jabbed to Quick Silver's throat.

"Closer and I slash his throat," they threatened. But their hands were shaking.

For the first time, they wished they had some help. They're nervous, but they're still a threat. I could probably use my speed to move Silver out of the way, but i'd be open for attack. Do I just get Silver and run down to the office for help?

Quick Silver stiffened, casting an evil glance behind them. They studied the mask of the villain holding them who looked more nervous by the minute.

All of a sudden, Quick Silver thrust his own throat into the weapon.

The person's eyes widened, but then Quick Silver manipulated the silver, forcing it into a handle which thrust itself into their chin. They staggered back several steps, their mask cracking in several places. Their hand flew up to fix their mask.

"Now!" Quick Silver yelled to Zuzu. "Don't just stand there!"

The villain's eyes widened with horror- and they fell backwards, their mask shattering into a million pieces-

They curled up, feebly twitching on their side. Quick Silver returned the metal to himself, manipulating it back into its knife form. "There we go," he said satisfied. "Nice teamwork." He shot a coy smile at Zuzu. "You did well, for someone so small."

He lunged forward and caught them just before they fell. He staggered under the weight for a few seconds-

And then collapsed, them landing on top of him.

"Oomfph..."



The person in the Mouse Mask- or rather, the person, since their mask had been shattered- looked wildly up, trying to keep the shards stuck to their face. Their limbs were twitching uncontrollably, their brain pounding with agony.

Get up. Go. Run.
