There is a civilization here due to but one thing: What the people call "Traits". It may not sound like much, but this civilization has advanced as much as we have in half of the time. It was only a week ago, however, when amber alerts started blaring, announcements suggesting you turn on your television sets to channel sixteen- The news channel. The news was big, as a new mass of land has risen, somehow not changing the sea level at all. Nothing was known about the place, and at first, governments tried to keep their citizens away. Eventually, they could not, and thousands of exploratory teams traveled to the new land mass, which was titled "Emenate." About a month later, only five returned.

May didn’t really care much about the whole thing, it just annoyed her that it was the only thing anyone was talking about. She hated talking or hearing about it as well... Her one and only friend had went, and... She didn’t return... She was the only one that could deal with her stupidity and cruelty, and yet was still a little ball of sunshine. May suspected that she put on a smile when around anyone, but had a giant spear of grief and sadness impaling her. She never showed it and was good at hiding it... Was that why she went? Knowing the danger? Was she really willing to die? No... May got up from the couch and sighed. The most messed up thing was that she had not shed a single tear for her lost friend, like the heartless being she was. She was going to go there, only to prove to everyone that she was as tough as she said she was. She made herself some lunch and went into her room to pack.

Call her heartless, but Aria was more curious about the landmass than concerned or grieving for those who died. She would have went in the first round, but she wanted to have some data prior to going to the place. After all, she wasn’t trying to die or something. Having went through what little resources there were for Emenate, she decided she had to see the landmass for herself. So, she was packing and getting ready to go.

Devon was laying in bed, despite having bot really slept that night. It had sounded like something was outside his window all night, and it kept him up. He threw a pillow at the wall before slipping out of bed, he had lazed around long enough. He slipped into day clothes and walked out the door, locking the door to his apartment. Devon exited the building, looking for any decent place to eat breakfast. He had gotten paid the other day, so he figured he'd treat himself a little.

Really the only thing she packed was extra food, supplies, a knife or two, and a few other things. It was quite a light load, since it wasn’t much. She made sure she got everything by looking around before heading out the door. She either ignored and avoided everyone in her path, or was rude to them. She wasn’t exactly the type of person to do so

*Hasane woke up, she had slept in, she jumped out of bed, she was rather energetic today, despite not being a morning person, she slipped on her witch hat headband, threw on her clothes, grabbed her bag and walked out of her apartment, she lived alone, having been kicked out by her parents, she locked her door and walked downstairs and walked to a nearby cafe*

Ziracc was sitting at a little cafe, just down the street from his apartment. His fingers drummed on his cup of coffee, the bags under his eyes a clear sign of his sleepless night. He could smell people coming and going, hear the bells on the door ringing every so often. He sighed and yawned, stretching once more. He took a sip of the creamy liquid in his cup, then almost spat it out. He muttered to himself, "Is it just me or is this even more bitter than yesterday?" It wasn't a spiteful whisper, just a little uncomfortable .

*Silver was tinkering worn a machine he was building. He had been going it told be able to help cure diseases and viruses. It was like a water machine in a sense. It was a drinkable medicine. He had the one part left to fix before it was usable*

May stopped right in the middle of the sidewalk, right in front of the café. She always loved to go here... She would always drag May along and get her to have a cup or two with her... May never realized how heartless she really was. She would always try to refuse to go here, and when she did, she never took a sip of the coffee. She always said how she hated the place. Whenever she tried to talk to May, May would never listen. She wasn’t a good friend... Was she... How could they even put up with her? She sighed and shrugged before going on her way

Devon slipped into a small booth in a cafe, after ordering... he wasn't sure what actually. He just ended asking for the most effective coffee they had. He reached down into his pockets, instantly grabbing onto a small gum wrapper he had left inside of his left pocket. His foot jittered as he waited for his order to arrive. "...more bitter than yesterday..." he heard a voice say, and his head jerked up in their direction, spotting Ziracc.

Aria had the bag over her shoulder as she went to the library to see if there was anything she missed. Well, that and she heard there was a new book out recently. She always carried a large bag of books around, so it wasn’t unusual to see her carrying a large bag around. She went downstairs, sipping tea from a bottle, and headed towards the library. Thank goodness it was a weekend, so no school. Her shift at the coffee shop was later.

After a bit of walking, it felt like something was shoved into her. “Hey!” She yelled as she quickly got up and looked at them, anger in her eyes. “Look where you’re going you f***ing dumb***!” They both yelled at almost the same time. Weird how they said the exact same thing...

Aria’s phone suddenly rung with an alarm. She looked at it and paled. Uh-oh, she forgot her shift had been changed a few days ago! Dammit. She wished her Trait applied to memory as well as she shot towards the cafe, narrowly dodging May. She ran for the cafe at top speed, panic slowly dying down as she realised that she had anticipated this situation and set her alarm extra early. She reached the cafe and quickly headed in.

*After Silver finished the machine he wanted some coffee. He put on his top hat and went out. As he went in the cafe he saw a tree familiar faces. It had been a while since he had been outside. He sat at a table and ordered two cups of coffee*

Aria was thankfully on time. She pulled on the uniform-thing and went to the counter. She held a notepad ready. Her trait was quite helpful here. Even if the customer had some sort of weird accent, she could usually figure out what they were ordering. She took another sip of her tea as she awaited a customer to come over.

Ziracc heard the bell on the door ring and looked up, then twitched a little, turning his head, searching the room. He could've sworn he felt like he was being watched. Then, bingo! He made eye contact with Devon and flinched, not exactly meaning to. He gave a tiny wave, hoping to not come across as some stingy adult. He wasn't even an adult! He gulped, hoping Devon didn't think he was too strange.

May paid no attention to Aria, she was too busy with the guy that ran into her. Due to her raw strength, she could easily pick him up by the collar. She didn’t feel bad for starting a fight, this was just the everyday thing for her. Why should she care if anyone got hurt? “Next time you do that...” she rested her other hand on the knife in her belt. “Let’s just say that it would be rather unfortunate...” she kneed him in the stomach before letting him go and walking off

Devon grew a little embarrassed when Ziracc noticed him staring. He quickly threw his head back down, pulling the gum wrapper out and twisting it in his fingers. He bit his lip anxiously as his eyes stayed glued to the table.
