Concerning the Left in the Dark badge:

I have adopted thousands of eggs (I know with 110% certainty, more than 100 without having the type show up, which is in less than 10 seconds) and the wiki now shows with only 100 eggs quick enough, and you get the badge. Is there a reason I have not gotten the badge yet?

The actual badge doesn't give a specific number, so you probably haven't been lucky/haven't adopted enough blind eggs yet to get it ^^'
