I was trying to start a chain of retro hoohoot, but in the daycare they said:
"They prefer to play with other pokemon"

They cannot breed. You can only chain a Pokémon like retro hoot hoot by getting them over and over in the Game Center, but you cannot do a pokeradar chain with them.

Note that because of their inability to breed, their chance to randomly hatch shiny is slightly increased compared to a normal Pokémon. :)
