they can be uh. champions of different regions. and they're going to an exhibition match when all of a sudden rocket like attacks and takes something important and they gotta get it back

appearance: tan skin, wavy/slightly curly dark brown hair that's cut pretty short, kinda looks like a guy and is often mistaken for one. brown eyes. ripped black jeans, white t-shirt, checkered black high tops and an open red hoodie.
personality: def type A. highly confident and slightly arrogant. will likely punch the heck out of you. sharp tongue, vvv determined. outspoken and doesn't know when to quit.

appearance: naturally pale, though due to his constant traveling he has tan skin. he's like 6 feet tall & has a somewhat athletic build. brown hair that's a lil curly and quiffs to his left and has brown eyes. has a few freckles on his face. wears a tucked in, oversized white t-shirt with light blue jeans & black high tops. he sometimes add a gray hoodie and/or his black eyeglasses.
personality: quick on his feet, always has to be right, sassy. naturally blunt & bitter though doesn't really mean it most of the time. enjoys winning & doesn't like things he's not good at.
team: braixen, politoed, glaceon, dragonite, venusaur, persian
backstory: from kalos though traveled mainly in kanto for a bigger league opportunity before becoming the kanto champion.

appearance: tan skin - p slim/thin - dyed platinum blonde hair w dark roots showing reaches just below her chest - usually tied up in a high ponytail or down with her outgrown bangs tied up into little knots - thigh high tan boots - very short gumdrop pink dress that's almost like an upside down umbrella? idk
personality: normally laidback and goes with the flow. mainly becomes the mediator of an argument. despite this, she gets snappy and doesn't typically like confrontation though will put someone in their place if she needs to.
team: blaziken, seviper, gallade, beautifly, wartortle, weavile
backstory: runner-up for top coordinator in hoenn before becoming the hoenn champion [so incorporates elegance/beauty in battles]

A tall male stood with a standard Pokéball in his hands. He quickly tossed it up in he air before releasing the Fire-type Pokémon Braixen from inside of it.
“Good luck.” he shouted from across the battlefield.
“Hmph. Parker, do you really expect to defeat my Torterra with a Braixen? It isn’t even fully evolved.” the other Champion stated.
“She hasn’t evolved because she doesn’t want to nor does she need to, trashbag.” he retorted.
[aaaand time for class]

Parker smirked at the opposing Champion from Sinnoh as his Braixen single-handedly defeated his Torterra and Purugly. "Braixen, come back, you need to rest a bit before you go on." he ordered. The Fire-type cried out its name before running back beside her trainer.
Next, the Sinnoh Champion sent out a Garchomp which later Mega Evolved and defeated his Dragonite before losing to Parker's Glaceon. The Sinnoh Champion then battled with his Gastrodon, Drapion and Luxray and was defeated just by Parker's Glaceon, Mega Venusaur and Persian before wrapping up the battle with his Braixen, securing his spot in the next round of the tournament.

"Literally do not understand... He basically just proved you don't need to be fully-evolved to be considered 'strong'." she muttered. "I guess I'll just watch her and try to figure out some of her battling techniques since I'll have to go up against her if she wins this round."
Parker then began making his way off of the Battlefield with his Braixen beside him, panting a bit due to exhaustion from battling. He passed Nick on his way out. 'What an odd-looking little boy... Wonder what he's doing all the way on stage...' he thought to himself, mistaking the female for a male. He decided to mind his business and keep walking towards the Pokemon Center.

After getting his Pokemon healed, Parker thanked Nurse Joy and her Pokemon, oddly being an Espeon, for their services and went back to the stadium to watch the next battle. "Oh. It's the same little boy battling..." he muttered while taking a seat.

"Sure am." he grins. "And I'll best you in battle, just you wait!" he smirks, before walking off to his side of the stage. Nick squints slightly, pushing her hair behind her ears - even though it was so short it barely needed that, it was to her jaw - and standing back.
"Let the battle between Nick Garcia and Shawn Young begin!"
Nick watches as Shawn sends out a Typhlosion, and she sends out her Krookodile. She lets Shawn have the first move, which is a Fire Blast.
"Dumb move. Fire against ground." she murmurs.

Parker watched the battle, coincidentally not too far away from Lauren. He watched the Fire Blast executed by the Johto Champion's Typhlosion and scoffed. "Did you see that? Our Fire Blast is so much more powerful but no big deal." he commented, his Braixen giving a short huff as if she agreed with his statement.
Lauren continued to watch, particularly focused on Nick's Pokemon in order to tell how she reacts differently to types of attacks: physical, special & status.

Parker rolled his eyes at the Johto Champion and his seemingly unawareness to Type-effectiveness.
"Did this fool just wing it through the League?" he asked himself.
"Knows... about... type-effectiveness... and... isn't... dumb..." Lauren muttered as she wrote the same words in a notebook, the page titled "Unova".

Nick grinned as her Banette mega evolved. She was up against a Steelix.”
“Steelix, rock slide!” Shawn instructed.
“Cotton Guard, then shadow ball!” Nick said as she knocked out the Steelix.

Lo continued to watch the battle, taking notes on Nick's Pokemon and potential movepools and began strategizing for how to counter Nick and her Pokemon, unbeknownst to her that she would most like fail.
"Yikes... Did that Steelix literally hatch and get immediately evolved from Onix? A big bulky guy like that being taken out by a single Shadow Ball is telling something..." Parker commented.

Nick shook the sulking Shawn's hand before the boy stormed off. She blinked twice before going back to heal her Pokémon. On the way, she passed through the box where Parker and Lo were, accidentally tripping over Parker's foot.
"Sorry." she frowned, her voice was somewhat deep for a girl but still sounded feminine enough.

Lo overheard this and sighed.
“That’s not a— Do you think h— Blaziken?” she rambled, scratching her head gently.
“I’ll just ignore it...” she muttered.
“Hey, Nick, according to the roster it looks like I’m battling you in the next round so heal up and meet me out there.” the girl challenged with a wide smile.

“Yikes. If you’re going to be upset about me mistaking you for a boy, maybe you should not look like one.” Parker scoffed.
“Heyheyhey,” Lo intervened, “Nick, he probably didn’t mean it in a bad way. Take it with a grain of salt, it was just a mistake. And Parker, try being a little more sensitive.” she suggested to them each, letting her mediative nature come out.
“Whatever.” Parker muttered, turning his head. His Braixen glared at Nick’s Bannette, twirling her wand in her paw before tucking it into her tail.
