The shiny retro chikorita in my party that I hatched way after I started the quest doesn't count for the quest for some reason. I've checked the strongest pokemon thing a bunch of times and it still hasn't changed.

Please feed my favs. Thanks :)

It's not that it doesn't count, but the 'strongest pokémon' always shows you the pokémon that'll need the least EXP and will thus reach level 100 the fastest (:
