There was a big flash of light, and suddenly, you were in a dark world. The sky was starless, a constant drizzle fell from it. You look at yourself and the other people that somehow materialized here with you.
No longer are you dressed in your normal clothes from Earth - you wear armor. No longer do you hold pencils and backpacks, some of you hold axes and swords and magical tomes.
You hear a deep, booming voice from above.
"Welcome to the world of Saevatain. You will not escape until you leave. Beware the Night Children. Take back Y'riaen. Do not disappoint me. La'terahne will explain."
A wyvern screeches above you, and you can faintly see the girl on it.
"Come on, skyfallers! La'terahne is waiting."

Ellie has flaming red hair, curly, usually in two braids down her back, with deep blue eyes and tan skin. She is covered in dense freckles from head to toe and usually, she is seen smiling. She wears an olive green tunic that goes to her mid thigh over black pants tucked into high brown boots, a black breastplate with a golden leaf emblem, a black cape and fingerless white gloves. Her ears are double pierced.
Personality:
Ellie is highly stubborn and hardworking, and quick witted. She is honest to the point of being blunt, and because of that she offends people easily by not thinking before she speaks. She's good outdoors and wouldn't be caught dead in a dress. Ellie is fiercely protective of her friends and puts herself in danger often to protect them.
Power:
She has plant control - so she can grow or destroy plants anywhere and anything tying to it, such as a riverbanks or rocks with moss.
Downside:
Whenever she uses power, her hand and forehead becomes covered in some sort of plant temporarily. If she uses her power in like, a castle, it makes her weak because she has no nature power source to rely on.
Weapon:
She mainly uses her magic but in times when there is no nature source, she defends herself with throwing knives, although she wishes her accuracy was better.

Tess has dusky pink wavy hair in one long high ponytail. She wears a black mask covering her mouth with a white X on it, a black bow that ties up her hair, and a black sleeveless dress with a skirt [?] that goes slightly outwards to her mid thigh [think alice in wonderland's dress bottom], a muted pink belt with spray paint cans on it, pale pink tights, and black lace up knee boots.
Personality:
Tess is a very logical person. She usually doesn’t listen to her gut feeling, instead going with the decisions she believes would best benefit her and her company. She tends to listen to reason more than emotion but can be a very emotional person herself. While she rarely cries, she always feels like she must help someone or something more than she’s obliged to. She can be very oblivious to things when she is focused. Compassionate and has a lot of empathy.
Power:
Tess can manipulate air and other particles that are air-like, such as poisonous gas, steam, and fog. She can spray some of these in spray paint bottles that she usually carries. This can also include scent maniputaltion.
Downside:
Tess can be harmed by these particles if she does not wear her mask. She also suffers mild headaches after using her power due to the chemicals in it. She is also easily detectable.
Weapon:
She uses her spray cans but also has a small sword due to her power not being that strong.

Rae has curly black hair tied up in a very messy puffy ponytail, tied back with a small purple scarf. She has dark skin with multiple scars, and a few teeth missing due to her young age. She wears a dress that looked like it used to be white, but it is tattered and possibly stained. She also has a dark indigo shawl/cloak that is wrapped around her shoulders, and wears black shoes. Also has multiple colorful garments and "assecories" but being 8, she doesn't have a sense of fashion.
Personality:
She is childish and clever. Mostly WIP since she's story important.
Power:
Rae'Lin is a hatamra, or death caster. She can harness the spirit of dead animals or people.
Downside:
Rae'Lin is very inexperienced at using her power. She rushes often into harm's way blindly. Her power can sometimes take over her.

Age: 18
Appearance: Scrawny at five feet tall and just barely ninety pounds. He has brown hair and pail skin. His light blue robes barely fit him as they are much too loose. His second form is large at ten feet tall and three hundred pounds. His brown hair remains. His skin gets a bit of a tan and his robes fit perfectly fine.
Personality: Has a strong sense of right and wrong. He views freedom and justice as incredibly important and tries to uphold it. He is quite the over thinker which often results in trouble as he will either do something to soon or too late. He is quick to making judgements without much evidence.
Power: For five minutes he becomes a ten foot giant complete with super strength, super durability, and flight.
Downside: His power has a recharge period of two hours meaning he is quite vulnerable to many attacks.
Weapon: A large sword. While scrawny he can barely drag it behind him. While in his giant form he easily swings this blade.
Crush/BF/GF: Straight. Pal pad me.
History: Scrawny and weak since a young age his idols where heroes like Super Man or All Might. He dreamt of being a hero one day and when he entered this new world he found he could be a hero as he dreamed. This has caused him to ignore reality as he rather would stay in this world than go back.

Haruko is a very optimistic girl who
yes can brighten your day very much can also be a huge annoyance to
people. She doesn't like change and expects everyone to always be
the same being stubborn and rude when told that everyone changes
one day. She is a friend to all even when she is annoying. She is
very kind but can also be very very scary at the same
time.
Power: Water Manipulation!!!!
Downside: Can't control the water for an extended amount of time the max being 10 minutes and can't summon water so when away from the dirt ground or a source of water she can't use her power.
Weapon: Her Harp can be used as a bow, though she usually has only 10 arrows with her

History: She grew up with lots of siblings so she always shared happiness with them, sharing many memories with them. Haruko's father died from a car accident when she was only 5 so she spent most of her life without a father. She has 3 older siblings and 3 younger siblings making her the middle child.

Age: 18
Appearance: Tall and lanky, he stands at about 5'8", with a head of white (slightly spiky but it's the fluffy kind) hair and electric blue eyes and freckled tan skin. Lynx is always wearing a tattered, teal scarf regardless of whatever else he's wearing, and sunglasses.

Personality: Lynx is flirty, cheerful, funny, and clever, though sometimes airheaded. That's everyone's first impression, at least, and that's the face he goes for. Despite being talkative, he actually never reveals much about himself at all. He's much more cold and calculating than anyone ever gives him credit for, and logical to a fault. While he does care about people, and would lay his life down for them, there are only a select few people who he feels that way for.
He wears sunglasses because it's harder for people to read him that way. If you can only see part of someone's face and only hear their voice, really, it gets a lot more difficult to figure out what they're thinking. Lynx also happened to dye his hair white because only part of it went white from trauma/shock, and hid it because that's just the easy way out. And despite his flirty and friendly disposition, he despises physical contact and lashes out if touched without being warned.
He's clever, definitely, cleverer than most people assume, but he can be cruel and insensitive, and is honestly a bit of a coward when it comes to his own feelings and the feelings of others. Lynx takes the easy way out most of the time because the hassle isn't worth it to him.
Power: Illusions! He himself is a master of deflection and pretending to be something he isn't, so it's obvious his ability will have to do with manipulating others' perceptions of reality.
He can either do a blanket illusion over a specific area, and make it solely visual, or he can touch someone and force them to experience what he wants them to
Downside: He experiences whatever they experience, not to mention he has to be totally focused on the illusion.
Weapon: screw the rules he uses an axe jk

History: Unhappy childhood, so he and I will not get into it. If I have to, I can and will, but until then, it'll be implied and referenced rather than outright spoken.

Appearance: Kei's of average height, about 5'8", with messy black hair and cobalt-blue eyes. His skin's pretty pale since he hates going outside, though he burns super easily. He's also on the skinny side because he. keeps forgetting to eat because he's an idiot obsessed with gaming and there's nobody around to remind him lol.
Personality: He's sour, bitter, and salty, and he doesn't taste good. In all seriousness: he's rude and antisocial and he really hates social interaction (though that's mostly because anxiety is rude). Kei, well, considering he has no temper at all, doesn't really have a short temper. But if you stick with him long enough he's less abrasive, though not by much. You just get used to it.
Also highkey self-sacrificing but you don't need to worry about him (lie). He's not an idiot but he kind of is.
Power: The ability to put people to sleep via music. Depending on the intensity of the playing, you could be just drowsy or snoring within seconds.
Downside: He has to be either singing (which he would rather die than do) or playing an instrument (which he is thankfully decent at). It actually affects anyone within hearing range other than him, so yes, allies will get drowsy.
Weapon: Aside from the flute, which is made of metal it will break your skull, he uses a sword.
Crush/BF/GF: honestly, let's just see how the rp goes. flirt with him
History: dead parents that he didn't know very well. lives with his cousin Shiro in Japan.

Age: 16.
Appearance: dunno about armor (i haven't drawn her with any, unsurprisingly) but her normal images are (gore tw) here (gore tw). additionally, her hair isn't really white at first (it's light brown) and her eyes are, instead of pink, either green or hazel (i haven't had to design her younger form yet, so i haven't decided jgkgkldnf)
Personality: somewhat stuck-up and aloof, but not in a really mean way, if that's possible? like, she doesn't much like wasting her time with people who don't understand her, nor does she enjoy associating with whom she deems unintelligent or useless, but she's not explicitly retaining information just to be rude, or just.. generally being byakuya togami. she's not very social, but that's not to say she's awkward or antisocial. she doesn't find it very productive in most situations, though. if she really has to, she'll talk to people--like if she has to bond with a new team, or stop a fight, or whatever. sometimes she'll just talk to other people because she's exhausted all her other options.. or she's just plain old bored. she's somewhat anxious, and, even though as i established earlier, she doesn't much like people, she's internally really worried about what people think about her, and if she makes anyone mad. she often has lot of really violent, disturbing thoughts (most likely a side effect of the mouths), and is often a lot angrier than she lets on, though due to her people-pleaser-ish tendencies, she hates to bother anyone with those problems. this likely connects to why she doesn't bother socializing that much--she's worried about having people think about her issues, and would rather stay silent and have people be happy. relatedly, she's not very assertive, and would most likely have trouble voicing disinterest if someone were to, i dunno, try to romance her... or something.
Power: caspian can grow extra eyes or mouths. it's easier for her to grow them where there's a pre-existing orifice, but they also pop up pretty easily on her arms, back, and neck, especially with the eyes. mouths tend to replace other features rather than grow on their own. the most difficult thing to do would probably be to grow a mouth on her foot. there's some that are semi-permanent (she has to really think about it to make them disappear), like her left eye-mouth-thing. the one sort of opening they can't really replace is cuts. i mean, i guess they could if it was a particularly life-threatening gigantic dang slice, but even pretty large cuts are preferred less than popping up on bare skin, even with mouths. sometimes, the eyes and mouths leave scars/cuts of their own.
Downside: she can't control her power all that well, and sometimes if she feels a Very Strong Emotion™ it'll act up and she'll just. randomly grow eyes or mouths. it's really inconvenient. she also experiences some difficulty controlling the mouths/eyes themselves, the mouths particularly. they, in actuality, have a lot of control over her. if she has too many mouths, she starts to get hungry a lot quicker, and, due to that, somehow gets even more irritable. if she has too many eyes, she starts to get overwhelmed and dizzy. having too many of both is hard to achieve, and thankfully so, because it wouldn't be very fun for anybody.
Weapon: she mainly uses her mouths as a weapon. the eyes are also useful for being particularly unnerving. i mean, if someone was mad at you and suddenly started looking more like a heavily mutated, admittedly rather pale spider than a human, you'd be pretty freaked out, right? when she can't use her mouths/eyes, like when she's fighting a distant enemy, she generally prefers long-range weapons like bows.

History: caspian had a pretty average childhood from birth to the age of seven. then stuff got Bad. (this wouldn't be an oc of mine if it wasn't in possession of a dark edgy backstory.) her father, who, conveniently enough, was a rather awful person from the start, started to emotionally abuse her. (cliche, i know.) her mother was exempt from his rage, and she was, while a far better parent than her father, a bit inattentive, and didn't (or maybe pretended not to for her own safety) notice caspian's father doing it. and like a lot of emotional abuse sufferers, she felt that it wasn't actual abuse, since he wasn't hurting her, but it really messed with her mind. the abuse continued for the rest of the time she lived with her father, which is.. well, the whole time up until this special day in the classroom. in that time, the abuse started to get more physical, escalating to a point that i'm not too keen to go over. her mother started to get concerned (damn, took ya long enough) and started making plans to take caspian and leave. however, before they could, it reached the present and the Special Day In The Classroom™ happened...
Other: HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. i spent more than an hour writing this. help

Jason "Jace" Alexander Sutton

Personality:
Jason is a overall intimidating looking guy, and the way he acts doesn't help much with that stigma. He's rather a brooding introvert, which can be easily mistaken for asocial behaviour, which (according to Kathy) isn't like him at all! Behind that grumpy, rather scary faced façade is a fiercely loyal and caring brother and friend. Though that being said, he does have a fairly short temper and has been known to lash out for the smallest thing; for instance, a friendly compliment for his sister may be mistaken for a flirtatious advance, even if it's obviously not. Bringing us to another point of Jace, his overprotective tendencies. This boy doesn't know when to leave his sister, or any other person he feels needs his overly watchful gaze. Helpful in some situations, detrimental in others, Jace often requires to be told when Kathy wants to be alone because he's awful at reading people.

Hyena Physiology (Spotted) - "User with this ability either is or can mimic/transform into hyenas." - Exert from Superpower wiki
Jace can transform into a large Spotted hyena at will, enhancing his senses and his strength.
Downside:
While in his hyena form he may go "feral" and gorge himself on a fallen foe or even attempt to attack an ally. If this happens Kathy must try to calm him, or tranq him if she's unsuccessful. If neither proves successful he will eventually collapse from over exertion and will transform back within seconds of falling unconscious. If he doesn't go feral he will be exhausted for 3-12 hours once he shifts back, depending on how long he held up his form; he's not completely defenseless in this state, though it may push him to collapse if he's forced to fight in his human form after using his hyena one.
Weapon:
He is unarmed, as he mainly uses his hyena form for fighting. He can throw a mean punch though.

History:
Jason and, to some extent, Katherine don't talk much about their past nor their parents, but with they have shared indicates a stereotypical deadbeat dad and a loving, abused mother. Kathy wasn't old enough to remember her mother leaving, but Jace remembers it very clearly; never uttering a word of what happened to Kathy, let alone anyone else, all he'll say is "She went to a better place.". Though their father hurt their mother, Jace recalls how distraught he was that their mum left them.
It wasn't very long until he started abusing the young Jace, however. Around the age of seven or eight, Jason tried to run away with his sister one late night, only to be questioned by the police an hour or so later. Thankfully the policeman took them to the station and filed a report against their father. Lacking traceable relatives, Jason and Kathy were sent to a childrens' home. An orphanage. It was better than living with their father, but children are cruel. Katherine was picked on much more than Jace, who was already taller than most boys in the home. This was the point in time that Jason became much, much more protective over his sister. One night, he cause a couple boys tugging Kathy's hair and calling her horrible words, the kind he'd heard his father call his mother. This made Jason very mad. He ended up in the director's office having to explain why he'd broken one of the boy's nose and the other's hand. He got grounded.
That story gets told a lot by Kathy. Jason isn't very big on talking about their past, but he can't help but smile slightly at the way she spins it, leading him to bring the tale back to reality.

Personality: have a downside
Kathy seems to be a total contrast to her brother, a bubbly and generally joyous demeanor paired with an almost constant smile, it's not hard to see why most people prefer her to Jace. However, that's just good deception on Katherine's part, truth be told she's almost in constant panic, jumping at every sound, rarely straying from her brother or going without her bow. On her worst days, Kathy may snap at people without meaning to. Partially due to the constant panic, Kathy tends to zone out, whether it be because she's trying to look out for a possible threat or simply because she's particularly spacey that day, leading many to assume she's purposefully ignoring them. Kathy only feels safe around Jace, though she assumes anyone that she becomes particularly close too will also make her feel at ease. One of the ways Kathy copes with her constant anxiety is talking. Talking, talking and more talking. She rarely shuts up with the exception of her spacier days, in which she's unnervingly silent. Which is scarier than Jace.

Kathy can snipe real good.
Downside:
Using the power requires an intense amount of focus, leaving her completely open to any attacks on her. If snapped out of focus by an ally (eg. obscuring vision, breaking her focus, ect ect), she will release the arrow early and it may hit them or alert foes to her position. Only good with recurve bows of the same size, useless with any other type of bow and severely disadvantaged when using the wrong size.
Using the power too heavily gives her intense migraines and, on occasion, may cause her to black out.
Weapon:
Recurve bow with 19in limbs and a dagger incase she's forced to partake in close combat.

Age: 17
Appearance: Is pale and average height and weight. Her hair goes to his shoulders. It is black with purple streaks in it. Her outfit looks like a combination of witches robes and a school teacher outfit.
Personality: A quick learner who loves reading and is quick to adapt to situations. She knows a lot and is well versed in many subjects. While she is a great student her habit of preferring learning means she lacks people skills. She will become a stammering mess when talking to many people unless she likes them. She also lacks team work skills preferring to work alone than with others which often backfires on her.
Power: She excels in loads of magic varying from fire to water to even healing magic.
Downside: Knowing loads of magic is also an issue. Since she knows a wide variety she isn't an expert in it. So while some people can fix broken bones she can fix cuts. While some can make huge waves of water she can only make small streams of water. Each spell also costs mana or chi.
Weapon: A wand which reduces the mana cost by 5%.
Crush/BF/GF: None. Too awkward.
History: A studious girl who loves learning more than interacting with injuries.

Age: 16
Appearance: A rather short agile girl with blonde hair a blue eyes. Her wizard outfit is a long, blue cloak with white feathers along the bottom. She also wears rough white gloves and a small, blue and white feather in her hair.
Personality: She is quite shy which sometimes puts her down from powerful enemies. She also gets scared easily which makes her less confident.
Power: She’s an air wizard! She is quite agile and can float, not gain any height though. She can cast small gale so of air and more concentrated air slashes. She can also give others a slight buff to their agility.
Downside: She’s not very powerful or confident.
Weapon: Her gloves are a weapon, they can produce her magic. Without this she is powerless.

Lucia can be described in three words; unforgiving, arrogant and aloof. Surprisingly, she was often the popular kid at her places of teaching, more so for her name and appearance over personality. This didn't affect Lucia too much, however; in fact, knowing her name cause sway people's opinions of her and make her one of the more revered members of her class made her even more conceited. Instead of becoming a sphinx, Lucia gained aspects of a sphinx (eg. cat ears, a lions tail, fangs, claws, enhanced condition (strength, agility, leap, senses), night vision and now has an acute spiritual awareness); what isn't obvious, however, is that she can grow wings at will, though it is painful and takes focus to make them appear and disappear.
Downside:
Because of her personality, and her new found powers, Lucia is prone to feeling above most other people, often making conceited comments about how she's better suited to certain things over others, and even makes comments about the more supportive abilities of others. Aside from being unlikable, Lucia overestimates herself, thinking she can take on more foes than she actually can, or that she can fly or fight longer than she's physically able to, leading her to failure more often than she'd like; despite that, due to her pride, she'll never change.
Her wings will especially take some time to get used to, as at first they can appear and disappear on the whim of her emotions, let alone the actual process of flight being extremely alien to her.
Due to her own temperament mixing with a sphinx's, Lucia's mood changes at the snap of a finger, going from cool and collected to trying to tear somebody's throat out in seconds (which is something she's very capable of); though these mood swings are never unprovoked, no matter how sudden they seem. These almost always lead to grudges, which mean she's less likely to listen to that person, whether they have a good point or not, just because they accidentally stung her pride once.
As the rp progresses, Lucia will begin to give into the sphinx and think more and more like a beast, wanting to play with her target, enjoying the feeling of superiority.
She's likely to become a detriment to everyone, especially herself, with her rashness and lack of respect for most of her peers.

At first she uses an war ax, but as she progresses she finds it easier to just use her claws.
Crush/BF/GF:
Homosexual but she's not very likely to want anything more than a hook-up honestly, we'll see how it goes.
History:
Lucia was born to a very rich family, her surname being more or less a way for her to get what she wants. She's extremely proud of her heritage and feels she must prove she deserves the name, even though her family always supported her with whatever she wanted to do, especially her father.
Despite this, Lucia dealt with feeling she wasn't good enough for her family up until she got a place at the top business college, having applied early and wouldn't finish high school until later this year, with this news she finally began feeling like her father could be proud of her. Both her and fer father were thrilled with this, he even talked about passing his company down onto her if she finished her course with good enough grades.
This fueled her even more. Lucia studied harder than she had before, which was already more than most people in her class, the top class of her year, had been doing. Her parents began to worry a little, even to the point where they had to force her to go out an socialize because she'd dedicated every spare second she had to studying.
To most people, this was clearly unhealthy, but to Lucia it was all that mattered. She needed to be the best she could be, she needed to be worth her family name. She became obsessed with it, there was no doubt she would pass with any less than full marks, but Lucia couldn't risk getting anything less than perfect. At least in her mind, that was the truth.
Of course, she was no longer in her own world, but she was more determined than ever to get into that school. She was not having her chance at success, her chance to prove herself, taken from her on an unlucky pick.
