So I know that you can get a ditto from just pure luck in an auction or trading center, but how do you actually get a ditto apart from that? I heard something about normal gems but I'm not sure ;;;

There are a few ways to get ditto. As it is a very rare Pokemon on this site it can only be obtained a couple of ways. The ways are.

Adopting one from the lab. (Though it's really rare and I haven't gotten a ditto from the lab yet, but from my friend
Trading with another user
Buying one from another user for 4000 nuggets or 5-6 million pokedollars
Buying a ditto egg from the gem collector. (Which can cost 10,000 normal gems)

You can find normal gems in the silent forest, windy prairie, and bright beach rumble areas.

Just a quick correction and added info.
It doesn't cost up to 10,000 normal gems, it does cost that much. So you won't get it for less from the gem collector.

And to add on, to get the ditto from the gem collector you do need someone to lend on to you so you can get the egg.
