Dawnpelt looked at Flamestar for a moment, before looking to Icegaze once again. " I was out of camp when they attacked. I was on a ranging patrol, but I did not get far. Flamestar was out of camp as well...their leader attacked him in the flower cave, while a majority of the rogues attacked the camp." Dawnpelt's fur bristled slightly as she recounted the previous day's events, feeling as if though they happened ages ago. " By the time I returned to the camp, it was completely over run. Flamestar begged for them to let Desertclan leave in peace, and so they did."

Icestar nodded and looked at Flamestar. "I didn't beg them to let us go" the Desertclan leader mewled evenly. "I asked if we could...we had to retreat"

"I understand" Icestar meowed. "Once your clan heals we will fight alongside you to regain your home"

Dawnpelt flicked an ear at her leader's correction to her words, but said nothing. There is no time for pride now..., she thought. " Your support is greatly appreciated. This is not a problem for one can to deal with," she said to Icegaze. "Rogue cats are not ones to respect borders,"

Icestar nodded and turned to leave the camp. She went over to Redkit. "Come on Redkit it's time to go" she meowed gently.

Sunkit got to her paws, her fur sticking in many directions from the tussle with the other kits. " Oh, you're leaving already?," she mewed. " It was nice to meet you, Redkit, " Sunkit mewed brightly, her tail swishing rapidly. She hoped that they would get to play together again soon. Perhaps it won't be so bad staying here with Pineclan, she thought.

Dawnpelt nodded, and turned to Flamestar, " Have you given thought on just how we would take our camp back?," she asked. "I'm not sure if both of our clans combined, even more than just the warriors, would be enough storm the rogues out." Her voice was grave as she spoke. " I wish Starclan was less cryptic with their advice...", she added quietly. The Pines will bring back the Sun..., she repeated the prophecy in her mind, hoping that something new would jump out at her.

"Goodbye Bramblekit and Sunkit!" Redkit mewled and followed Icestar out of the temporary camp.

Flamestar thought for a moment "maybe we can talk to the kittypets near our old territory. Graysky was a kittypet there so maybe he has some cats who can help us" he suggested partially to himself.

Dawnpelt seemed convinced, " It's not a question of numbers. Besides, I'm not sure how well a kitty pet would fair in a fight with the rogues that bested even you," she said, sighing. " I think we need to think about this. We need to be clever, more clever than the rogues were." Dawnpelt felt frustrated, and wished to get out some of this energy in a productive way. " I'm going to help the clan get settled in, then I would like to go on a hunting patrol," she said, waiting for Flamestar's dismissal.

Duskwind watched Redkit walk away with Icestar, still feeling chilled from the glare that the Pineclan leader had given him. I'm gonna find a way to talk to Redkit..., he vowed to himself.

Flamestar nodded and flicked an ear. "How can we be more clever than a bunch of rogues?" He asked kindly and looked over to his deputy for any ideas.

Ashpelt looked at Duskwind "you alright?" He asked with a yawn.

Dawnpelt flicked an ear in slight annoyance, wishing to discuss this more later, and after feeding the clan. She sighed, and thought deeply for a moment, looking out over the horizon, down the mountain. " We need to be smart...there's too many to attack all at once...," she said, almost as if she was speaking to herself. Then her eyes brightened slightly. " We need to separate the group, " she said. " We cause distractions in different parts of the territory, and draw them out, spread out their forces." She spoke quickly, the idea still forming in her head. " We can form traps for them, ambushes. Lead them into a blind spot, and take down the stragglers. " She began forming strategies in her head, for places she knew would be ideal in their territory. Her tail flicked as she spoke. " We need to isolate Sandfeather, and strike her down. If she dies, they will all scatter," she said, a dark shadow in her eyes.

Flamestar nodded "we will plan the fight out more later" he mewed kindly. "Go ahead and hunt or rest. I think your idea could work" he meowed gently and noticed the annoyance in her gaze.

Dawnpelt nodded, and took her leave. She would think more about the possibilities of tricking and making traps for the rogues on her hunt. She glanced back at the camp, feeling mildly more at ease now that her clan had somewhere safe to sleep. At least for now, she said in her thoughts. She slipped away into the pines, wishing to hunt alone for a time.

Ashpelt blinked, having been lost in thought. " Huh?," he asked, giving Ashpelt a confused look. " Oh. Yeah. I'm alright, " he said, glancing back to where Redkit and Icekit disapeared into the Pine forest.

Dawnpelt moved silently through the pines, her pawsteps muted by the layer of cushioning pine needles on the forest floor. This place was strange, with a few unknown smells. I recognize that, however, she thought, as she picked up the scent of rabbit. She tracked the smell, until she spotted the familiar brown, fluffy shape, nibbling away at shoots, partially hidden by a scraggly bush. Dawnpelt froze on her paws, tensing up her hind legs, and staring hard at the rabbit. In a flash, she suddenly pounced, landing directly on the animal, and bit down hard on its neck. She buried the critter somewhere nearby, and want off to find more.

Duskwind watched Ashpelt walk into the camp. He wanted to talk about it, he desperately wanted to talk to someone. But, he wasn't close with Ashpelt, he wasn't sure how open he could be. I would talk to Feathercloud...but she has been busy with Fallentree as of late, Duskwind thought, a mild annoyance in his head. He sighed, and walked into the makeshift camp, seeing where he could be of help.

With a short yawn, Feathercloud stood and stretched, flicking her tail as she looked around the makeshift camp. Seeing all her clanmates certainly gave the new camp a homely feel to it, but it wasn't the same. Oh well. She turned her head, spotting Duskwind. "Hey! Duskwind!" She called cheerfully, bounding towards him, pausing at the look on his face. "You okay?" She asked in surprise.

Duskwind looked up in surprised. He hadn’t spoke to Feathercloud, or anyone, very often in the last few days. “ Not really,” he said, his voice forelorn. He looked around to make sure none of the other cats were close to them. “ That kit who was playing with Sunkit and Bramblekit?,” he started, his voice soft. “ She’s mine - she’s my kit,,” the words felt strange coming from him.

Feathercloud nodded. "I thought so. She looked a lot like Hawkpool, huh?" She asked gently, flicking her tail. "She's really pretty." She said. "Have you spoken to her yet? Even if she doesn't know who you are,-- which I assume she doesn't right now-- at least you're able to talk to her for a bit."

Feathercloud blinked and then frowned. "Icestar isn't gonna tell her that her father is literally in the same area as her?" She sighed and shook her head. "You should tell her. She's your kit, you should technically have a say in how she's being raised and such, right? And we're here to back you up."

Duskwind nodded, feeling more confident as he listened to Feathercloud's words. " Yeah, you're right. " His expression was oddly serious. " Now I just have to come up with some sort of plan of how I can do that, " he said, his tail swishing as he contemplated his options. " I suppose just barging into the Pineclan camp would be a bad idea?," he asked, smirking.

Feathercloud snickered. "Perhaps. Unless you plan on breaking in and yelling 'Redkit I'm your father!', I wouldn't suggest it. But it's your call. Maybe you could enlist in the kits to help? They seemed to get along with Redkit." She suggested.
