"That's awful." Mel murmured. "Why, though? Did they think you were
Snow or something? Or did they just blame you because you were
there?" She shook her head sadly.
"They blamed me because I was there. Because I have the silver
wing. They thought that I'd go mad with power like my father, and
brother when they had the rainbow wing, and attack Johto" Tiger
replied sadly.
Mel reached across the table to pat his shoulder gently. "My mom
kicked me out of the house when she learned I had the griseous orb.
I guess that's the only reason I'm here. But they probably needed
someone to blame. You're a good person. It's not your fault people
are blind."
Tiger looked over, and forced himself to smile. "Thanks, Mel.
You're right. It isn't my fault people are blind...I hope that one
day your mom will understand why you have the orb" he said
sympathetically.
Mel shrugged and leaned back slightly. "Who knows if she will." She
yawned. "But I'm sure Johto will get over themselves eventually and
realize it's not your fault. By the way, did Snow, like, follow you
here or something? I never really understood how he ended up here."
Mira looked to the journal, still cover-down on the couch. She
tapped her fingers and picked it up as Toka slithered up the
staircase. She followed, but not before glancing at the overflowing
bookshelf.
She changed into her pajamas that she had brought with her (the
ones in the drawers didn't come close to fitting her at this
point) and flopped down on the bed, reading the journal a bit
farther.
It is... Strange, to say the least, how some species of pokemon are
able to mega-evolve while others cannot. Most blame it on the fact
that mega stones have not been found of said species of pokemon. I
do not believe this. Mega stones are natural minerals, but some
have been chemically manufactured. This proves that we could create
mega stones for every species of pokemon. But why don't we?
The answer is rather simple; some pokemon cannot cope with the
absolute power of mega evolution. That is why no pre-evolution
pokemon are able to mega evolve. They simply lack the capacity.
Theoretically, one could make a mega stone so specifically tailored
as to be proportional to the pokemon's power level but the"
Mira noticed all too late that this entry was never finished.
Halfway down, it stopped rather abruptly. There were two open pages
after this one, completely clean. "Hm..." Mira hummed, rereading
the passage. Just getting interesting, too...
Mel waved. "Oh, hey Ivan." She called cheerfully. "For a second I
thought Aether had stalked us back to Tiger's house or something.
And it would have been my fault, because of hot chocolate." She
snorted.
"don't start again please." Lucario begged from where he
sat, arms crossed.
Mira plopped the book down. It was dark, now, but she was almost
sure that it was light in Alola. Almost. Worth a shot. She
thought, bringing up her pokedex while trying not to disturb Char
(who was sound asleep on the bed). Mira tapped a bit on it and
started a video call with Tiger.
