But each of these young people hides a secret. In this world, things are changing. People are being born with extraordinary abilities. While some people are fine with these strange new powers, most people believe these children are demons, sent to punish the ordinary world for it's sins. Yet other people seek to use and abuse the powers this children have.

Appearance: She's tall and thin with tawny brown eyes, seeming gold in certain light. She has sandy brown hair and her outfits vary.
Power: Shapeshifting, including other people with difficulty.
Personality: Opal is fairly quiet but gets frustrated easily. She has more of a know-it-all attitude which shows more than her caring side, which she shows in not-so-apparent ways. She also closed up aa bit from her curious, I-want-to-know-everything nature after she and Celeste lost their family.
Background: Same as Celeste
Crush: None

Name and nickname: Celeste Jones
Appearance: She has long blonde hair with red tips. She has dark blue eyes that seem tinted violet. She's average height, being slightly taller than her younger sister and unusually pale. Her outfits vary as well. Patches of ash and soot tend to find a way to smudge somewhere on her face.
Power: Fire manipulation
Personality: Celeste is a loner who tends to keep to herself, tending to be protective of Opal. She is terrible around people and usually random fires begin to start when she's anxious. Before she and Opal lost their family, Celeste was sweet and fun-loving as well as a bit of a joker. Only a few people can get her to open up.
Background: When Celeste was 11 and Opal was 9, they were both curious, fun-loving children. One day in the night they were playing around with recently-discovered powers. "Bet you cant catch me with your fire!" Opal had dared.
Celeste couldn't, but she did catch something else. The house burst into flame, the second story where their parents were sleeping cut off. Only barely managing to get Opal out along with herself the sisters watched their house and their only other family burned to the ground.

Appearance:
She is of slightly smaller stature then average and very slim.
She always wears gloves to her elbow, boots, and a scarf.
She has gills and scaled/webbed feet and hands. this is why she wears the gloves and scarf
Power: She can breath and swim underwater with the help of her abilities. She also has telekinesis.
Personality: Easygoing, loves to laugh, is very protective of her younger brother. Once you have her friendship and trust, she is loyal to the end. She is terrified of her power being reveled.
Background: Her family name and brother are all she has. Her parents are dead. She and her brother move frequently to avoid her power being reveled.
Crush: once she meets him, Leo

Appearance:
He is much taller then his sister, and above average height. Slim, but still more muscular then his sister.
Power: He doesn't have any
Personality: He is super protective of his older sister. He feels much older then his sister because he is so serious and wise beyond his years.

Appearance:
Very tall, same height as James. He has blue eyes.
Power: can control and create fire and he can read minds (also has telepathy with that)
Personality: He's a bad boy. The world hasn't given him much so he doesn't care about it. He just plays a part to get ahead.
Background: He is an orphan, his parents where killed just a few years ago.

"Seraphina! We have to get going!" James called from the doorway of the house.
"Alright!" She called. She picked her scarf off of the pile of clothes next to her. She dunked it in the water and stood up. She wrapped it around her neck. Next she piled on the various petticoats, hoops, and yard of fabric that was her dress. Finally she pulled on her gloves and boots.
She meet James next to the carriage. He had already had it packed, so they were set to go. James opened the door and held out a hand to help his sister into the carriage.
"Do we really have to leave?" she sighed.
"You know we have to." James told her for the umpteenth time. He knocked on the carriage frame to let the driver know they were all set.
A few hours later, they would be at the Ambrose Mansion.

"Wake uupp!" Opal said. "We're suppose to be leaving!"
"For where?" the elder sister replied drowsily.
"For Ambrose's mansion!"
That was enough to wake her up. Her sister with her wide golden brown eyes haad been courtious enough to step away from her bed. "I'll be ready in a minute," she said, pulling herself out of bed. "Go entertain yourself outside for a bit."
Her younger sister scampered out of the room.

Seraphina took her brothers hand as he helped her out of the carriage. They grabbed their bags and set off for the front door. James rang the bell and they waited for someone to get the door.

"We're already late, get in the carriage."
Opal sighed, the the scurrying away. The sisters climbed into the carriage and were on the way to tge mansion.

The siblings entered the house. The foyer was huge! a spiral staircase was on the end of the room. Hallways lead from the room to either side.
"You must be the Lightwoods," the women said. "Follow me, I'll take you to your suite."
Seraphina turned to James, lifting a delicate eyebrow. He shrugged and followed the women.
She lead them up the stairs and to the right.
"Here you are! I'll leave you two to unpack. Dinner will be at six o'clock. I expect everyone should have arrived by then." the women left the room.
Seraphina walked into one of the rooms in the suite. "James! Look at the size of this bed! And the tub is enormous!"
James laughed, turning to his own room, he began to unpack.
Leo arrived at the Mansion just as a carriage pulled away. He wasn't really interested in any of these other people. All he was in it for was the money, the house, and the status. Grabbing his luggage, he walked to the door. Once inside, a women lead him to a suite. He unpacked, meaning he put his suitcases in the room. Then he left to explore.

Opal hurried after her, carrying her own luggage.
"Welcome! Follow me to your suite as I assume you're one of Mr. Smith's guests!"
They nodded, soon at their room. She noticed the room across was occupied before, after recieving a bit more information, the sisters entered. Noticing a second door, she slipped unceremoniously out of ger shoes and sprinted towards it as Opal struggled to beat her. "You get that room!" she grinned, pulling in her suitcase.
"No fair!" Opal whined.
"Life's not fair," she replied, beginning to unpack.

"I wasn't going to!" Seraphina said indignantly.

"I'm going for a walk," she said, slipping her shoes back on.
Opal just muttered something, continuing to put away her things. Celeste exited the room and found her way outside she spotted Seraphina and James ahead, pausing. She wasn't good with people besides Opal, mumbling unintelligably and something usually randomly bursting into flame.

Seraphina notice him freeze. Waving her hand in front of his face, she said, "Hey, you still there?"
He moved her hand down, and continued to stare.
Sighing, Seraphina looked too. "Ooooh! Lets go say hi!"
She tugged James along the path, walking towards the girl.

The girl was pretty. Seraphina hoped she and James got along. James needed someone other than his sister in his life!

She was cut off by Opal jumping off a tree branch from one of the nearby trees on the grounds.
"I'm Opal Jones!" she declared though she quickly shut up at the glare Celeste gave her through piercing blue-violet eyes. Opal quickly brushed off a stray feather which had clung to her from her brief previous form.
(Also added more detail and the background to my forms~)

"Hi," James bent and kissed both of their hands.
"So where are you two from?" Seraphina asked.
Leo strolled into the garden. He watched the four other people talked. He was content to sit back and watch. He leaned against a tree.

"Oh here and there. We move around a lot. We've lived in almost every part of the country. But my favorite spot was when we lived near the ocean," Seraphina replied, remembering the feel of the water there.
"Really?" James asked, surprised. "I thought you loved the house by Lake Andrea."
Pulling out his pocket watch, James looked at the time. "It's getting late. Should we head for dinner?"

"We can't have a lady as lovely as yourself unaccompanied," the gentleman it was attached to explained.
Oh my, he is very attractive, Seraphina thought, talking his arm.
Leo gave her a self satisfied smirk. Well, she certainly warrants more attention.
