Well, when you wanna see if the user is online/offline we always have to go to the Online User list or on the Palpad. Wynaut put the online/offline button on their Profile? Whenever a user gets online the button immediatly change from Offline => Online! Just like In the Forum.

can be used because here show the users who are online and in the top your friends and hide the offline persons

This has been suggested before and rejected because it is not needed. You can simply scroll down and look at the most recent activity. If it was more than 10 minutes ago, chances are they are offline.
