They lived in a large grotto, fierce and mysterious. They weren't your typical wolf pack, their rules were simple but firm, and could be strict. Many stayed away from them but the brave ones had a chance to join, or perhaps become an ally. They weren't ruthless or bloodthirsty, but their loyalty was on a strict line. They were the wolf pack, mainly known as the Wolves of the Shadows.

The waking howl of the pack's beta, Rocky stung in their camp. Already? Amber moaned in her mind as her head lifted, and she forced her eyes to open and blink heavily. Dry air stung at Amber's deep violet eyes as she forced herself to her paws. Her vision cleared as she saw the gray he-wolf, who had just lowered his snout from the air.

Her vision cleared out as the first living she saw was Ice, a pure-white she-wolf who was always energetic and happy-go-lucky. Amber sighed as she remember how she was once like that, so ignorant to the bad in the world. Sighing, Amber padded into the beams of the awakening sun. The pack wolves got up very quickly, as they sat down near the ledge were the alpha made the whole pack calls, council meetings, and usually were they named the daily group hunters and patrol wolves. All the wolves bowed their head in respect to the alpha, as Amber finally looked up to the alpha.

"Wolves of the Shadows, the council and I have agreed of the first hunting group. The lead will be Glaze, followed by Amber, Briar, Whisper, Ice, and Ragged." The she-wolf dipped her head in respect as she heard her name. "Hunters, you are dismissed." Adder flicked his tail, looking down from the ledge as the wolves followed Glaze. As they exited the heart of camp, Glaze whipped around and nodded. "Whisper, you go with Amber. Ragged, come with me, and Briar with Ice." He ran along with Ragged and headed towards the marshes.

The gray he-wolf nodded at Amber. "Lets' go." with that, he quickly zipped around and let Amber lead. She sprinted to the plains as her snout lifted in the air. I wonder whose in the patrol group, she thought as she watched Whisper scent for prey.

Appearance: tall with a shaggy red-ish brown coat, emerald green eyes, both ears folded down and a scar over her right eye.

Whisper came to Amber's side and nudged her, his tail pointing at an antelope. "You hold it down," Amber mumbled. Whisper stealthily lurked to the antelope, and bowled over it. Ramming towards it, Amber stuck at her claws into its neck and it fell limp. "I'll bring it back," Whisper offered and dashed away.

ruby was doing he patrol with at least four to five other wolves.
''ruby, search down by the lake, rex and mist will follow you'' said the wolf walking along the path.
''yes hunter'' all three of them said at the same time.
ruby led them to the lake and they all went in a direction and sniffed the place out to make sure no threats were near by.
''clear over here'' called the tall looking wolf called rex.
''clear over here as well'' called the shorter looking wolf called mist.
they all walked back up the the path where they met back up with hunter and the other two wolves.
all six of them headed back to camp and reported no threats near the pack.

Amber sighed. Whisper only did this to get Adder's attention. Racing after Whisper, she caught up with a tail ahead from him. Spotting Ruby laying by the hill curb, she finally relaxed when she reached camp. Amber lay down next to Ruby and said in a cold tone, "Morning Ruby."

''morning amber...'' ruby sighed.
she yawned after her quick nap and lifted her muzzle up to look around the camp.
''guessing you and whisper hunted pretty good today huh?'' she asked.
she stretched and shook her thick shaggy pelt out.
''i'm gonna go to the lake and enjoy the quiet instead of all the chatter of the pack..'' she muttered walking out of the camp.

Her chin lifted from the rest of her paws as Ruby began to move out. "Oh... Okay, see you later Ruby." She sighed. Alone once more, she was to bore on the gossip and roars of the camp. She turned to see a short, lithe gray wolf lay down next to her in the grass. Amber made sure to keep her distance, as the he-wolf chuckled in greeting to her. "Hello there, Amber!" he turned to her, his aqua-green eyes sparkling in the light.

"Oh, hi there Rex." the she-wolf replied. Why does Rex always come during the worst days? Amber moaned in her mind. It was true, Rex liked her but he'd always come to see Amber in her worst possible days. If something bad had happened or she just wasn't in the mood, the gray he-wolf was there. Rex began to do his regular gossip, in his jumpy tone. Amber sighed, barely listening. Every now and then she'd let out a "I didn't know that," or "Mhm..." like she was into what he was saying. Even when she was happy, she wasn't one for the gossip.

~at the lake~
''more quiet here...'' she muttered laying down on one of the sunning rocks.
she was peacefully enjoying the rays of sunlight hitting her back.
then out of no where she was knocked into the lake.
''hey!'' she yelped landing with a huge splash.
''got you didn't i ruby!?'' laughed the she wolf on land.
ruby swam back to shore and growled faintly.
''not funny pearl!'' she snarled.
pearl just looked at her.
''i'm only like... one moon younger then you ruby, chill.. i still act like a pup alright?'' she said sitting up.

~at the pack camp~
''um... rex, amber.. do you know where ruby might be....? i would like to talk to her...'' asked a tall he wolf that walked over, he had a thick dark gray coat with lighter gray paws and under-belly and dark yellow eyes.
rex looked at him and shook his head.

Rex is so immature... Amber thought to herself. Rex pressed against Amber suddenly and shivered. "Brr, its cold for a green-leaf!" he exclaimed very loudly. Brair glanced over and chuckled, in a moderate tone to Amber. "I think we're going to have more pups soon!" she chuckled. Amber blushed, but not because she liked Rex. If I get a chance, i'll kill that immature half-breed! I'm not his mate, and I don't like him! she thought to herself. That, plus somebody's already in my mind... pushing her thoughts away, she knocked Rex aside with her paw and grunted, as she saw Adder motion a wolf in by the side of her sight. Yet, he kept going...

Amber noticed the alpha was calling her. Calmly, she padded over to Adder. "Hello, Amber." he greeted in a warm voice. "If you don't mind, I need to talk to you... About the council." he whispered. Somethings going on, i'm not in the council... she thought to herself with worry. He lead her to the roaring lake, as Amber copied him when he sat down. Her tail lashed, unlike when she saw other non-council members with Adder. They would be on their best behavior, their posture straightened and everything.

Adder continued. "Amber, I see you are different than the others... As in skill and personality. I'd say your strategy is a bit... Violent," he added quickly. "Though it is very useful in battle." A bit impatient, Amber grunted in her mind. What, does he want me to have his pups? but of course, due to respect she kept this to herself. Adder paused a bit, than continued. "Amber, i'm afraid i'll have to kick our council member, Green, out of the council. She is... Well, that is none of your worries," Amber's ears perked. "As I was saying, Amber your skills are intense, your a fair soul and i'd promote you into the council if, well... I knew you more." Amber nodded. "I understand, Adder." she replied. Most of the pack called him Alpha, but Amber was on name-basis.

The she-wolf lay calmly in the grass, as Adder went into a more comfortable pose as well. "Your very different, Amber. You are calmer than the rest, speaking to a much higher rank." Amber shrugged. "I guess i'm a bit calmer and less worried." she sighed. The alpha nodded in approval. The she-wolf gazed towards the sky of pale blue satin. It was clear, yet a single fluffy white cloud covered the sun for appearance. She went into a daydream, but quickly the alpha nudged her as she snapped out of it. He knows enough, Amber thought to herself seeing that expression on him. Yet he stayed, as if he wanted to be with her. "Battle practice?" Amber blurt out and rose to her paws. Am I blushing?.. she thought to herself. No. I can't, she forced herself to push the thoughts away, merely a speck of worry.

Adder nodded as he rose to his paws, nodding. "Ready?" he announced. Almost right after Amber nodded, he dashed into her side and bowled her over. He chuckled as he pinned her down. "I-" Amber interrupted. "You can't get away that easily," as she jerked to the side, throwing him off. Her claws dug into his wrists as he was pinned down. It almost felt like Adder was the same rank as her, not higher. Distracted, she yelped and leapt off as Adder nipped at her nose. She twisted to the side, as he rammed at her, slamming at his shoulder to knock him down. "You win," he chuckled and skipped back to his paws. Amber's head dipped in respect to the higher rank, as he nodded once again. "Its good to know that your not drained of respect, Amber. I think I understand that part of you now."

As they parted ways, Amber say Swift and Pearl in the outside. "Hey there!" she called out happily.

''hey'' they both said at once then looked at each other.
''jinx!' yelled swift before pearl could said anything.
''no fair!'' she barked.
they both started laughing as they sat down.
both of them looked at amber tilting their heads.
''amber have you seen my sister?'' she asked.
''and my brother zero?'' swift asked.
they both looked a little worried on where they went, as if the territory didn't really seem safe.

~at the lake's shore~
both ruby and zero were laughing happily as they just chatted to each other.
''did you really get caught by humans?'' she asked.
he gave a small grin and nodded.
she loved hearing the stories of his past life before he joined the pack.
''i was taken to this place the humans call a zoo, you didn't have to hunt, they were kind, but i was released after a while, and then they became dangerous again... so when i went into this very forest, i joined the pack'' he said finishing his story.
''wow...'' she exclaimed looking at him in awe, she was always good at listening to his stories when he told them.

"Um... The lake shore,"
Pearl chuckled, as she looked up. "Hey Amber, have you seen the Alpha lately?"
"Yeah," Amber whispered and padded away.

ruby was listening to zero talk about his past life as she started to daydream a little.
''ruby, your daydreaming again aren't you..?'' he asked looking at her.
''huh? oh.. yeah a little..'' she said her ears flattening a little.
he smiled and shook his head, as if he knew that his stories were filling her head with none sense.
she looked at the water's surface and sighed.
''the lake looks so beautiful in green leaf..'' she said resting her muzzle on her paws.
''yeah...'' he sighed.
he looked over at her smiling.
zero you know you like her.. just tell her how you feel he thought pinning his ears back a little.
she went to look up at him, but instantly stopped her head from moving.
both of their noses were touching.
''um... i-i uh...'' zero stammered as he looked away.
both were blushing madly from what had happened.

Amber had reached the camp when it was the crack of a mid-day. She raced to the heat rock where nobody was, alone and buried her head in her paws. Okay, I admit it... I can't believe I like Adder, she moaned in her mind. She relaxed a bit more as her thin stomach pressed against the heated rock. Her short, messy fur was tangled as she lapped an orange-brown spot of her leg. I need to tell someone this... she thought. Her ears flattened as Amber saw Swift and Zero arrive in the pack. Getting Swift's attention, she waved her over. Alone, Amber made sure nobody could see or hear them. "Swift..." she felt herself grow hot. "I think I like Adder," she whispered. "Just... Don't tell.." she murmured.

swift nodded them started grinning.
''don't worry, i wont tell'' she snickered.
the truth with her history, she would tell her brother soon enough.
''i'm gonna go walk around swift, i'll be back'' called zero.
''just to see ruby again?'' she barked back.
he walked over to where they were his ears pinned back.
''well? you gonna answer big brother?'' she asked giggling.
''n-no! i j-just need some t-time to t-think!'' he stammered.
they both started arguing now.

~somewhere in the forest~
''get back here!'' barked a fierce looking wolf.
''how about no!'' the thinner looking wolf barked, who was running for his life.
he was suddenly knocked to his side by another wolf who was snarling.
''hey! let me go!'' he snarled in return.
''not a chance mutt!'' the she wolf that had him pinned barked.

"I'll make sure you won't," Amber laughed with mischief. "Also, he wants me in the council," she shrugged as her tail lashed.

''the alpha want's you to join the council?!'' they both barked at the same time.
they both blinked at her their eyes wide.
''hey guy's'' ruby said walking past with her tail swaying a little.
zero looked over his shoulder ears perked as he watched her leave the pack camp.
seeing him, swift whacked him in the head with her paw.
''ouch! what did i do?!'' he yelped looking at his sister.
she just shook her head and sighed.

(okay, i had to put a little comedy into the rp XD lol and its getting harder to think on what to type in the rps suddenly huh.? kinda got the same problem x.x)

Laughing, Amber shook out her thick, messy coat of multi-colored fur vigorously.
Bored, she saw Adder alone on the heat-rock and padded over to greet him. "Hello, Adder."
He nodded in greeting to the she-wolf, as he picked up a conversation.
"Amber, your a fairly good fighter." Her head dipped to the compliment, and she shrugged.
"In fact your very skilled... How did you learn such moves?" She froze, her tail laying still.
"I-i was taught," she murmured.
Adder nodded, as if he knew she wasn't telling the whole story.
"I'd best go now," he sighed and rose to his paws.
Adder pressed his nose quickly against Amber's ear which made her blush, but he had already been gone by the time she looked back.

zero went to walk out of the pack and catch up to ruby but swift wasn't about to let him.
''hey! let go of my tail!'' he barked looking over his shoulder, he was being dragged by his tail by his sister.
''not a chance little brother'' she said through a mouth full of his tail fur.
some of the pack laughed at him, while others were silently snickering or giggling on how funny he looked being dragged by the tail.
''i said... let go of my tail!'' he barked and yanked his tail out of her jaw.
he bolted and was out of the camp before she could do anything.
''dang it zero!'' she growled.

~on a hill top in the pack territory~
''this pack is strong... and this pack can never be broken...'' ruby thought aloud to herself.
she was unaware that zero was coming up the hill behind her, till he stepped on a twig.
''yes zero?'' she asked in a calm but soft voice.
he walked up beside her and sighed.
''ruby.. i um...'' he started to say by she cut him off by putting her head under his muzzle.
he froze stiff and was madly blushing.
from what he thought, he had to be dreaming.
''zero... i like you okay...?'' she sighed moving away.
he just sat there frozen stiff.
''zero..? you okay?'' she asked looking at him.
''y-y-yeah.... i-i'm okay....'' he stammered.
his ear twitched as he relaxed.
she shook her head and looked back out across the fields of tall grass.
