Oh, and how about you can find like, Bug-type pokemon sometimes too? Like, you know, Bugs usually just chill out around ponds. Yeah.

Actually, I think Sunfeather meant it more like "A Yanma swooped down and snatched your bait! You've got one chance to catch it before it escapes; throw a PokéBall?" than "A wild Yanma is on the rod! Reel it in?"
I also support this! I can try getting a list of Pokémon you can catch with the Old Rod (not many, of course), Good Rod and Super Rod if necessary.
Overall, this is a really good idea and can be built upon in so many different ways. I think it will be an amazing addition to the site!
(I also support the add-on that Tailowb suggested and the idea of pond-dwelling Bug-types that Sunfeather suggested!)

Hmm maybe expensive but not a too elusive goal, since there could be also added difficulty in obtaining pokemon, fishing times or baits. if it's too expensive, many people would have to go without the pond...

The Honeytree is still a challenge, although honey isn't too hard to obtain. of course i would like the Rod as a keyitem, untradeable and unsalable.

re: the Rods-- I'd definitely want them to be key items myself! The Old Rod could be priced like the Explorer Bag is, which was...what, 5k? It's something that's a pretty easy milestone for newer members, but you still have to actually work and gain experience in the site to obtain it. Upgrades would be available but they would of course be appropriate advanced price tiers.

Maybe it could be like this: the Old Rod costs 5k, but you need to be at least level 5; the Good Rod costs 25k, but you need to be at least level 10; that Super Rod costs 50k, bus you need to be at least level 20. And also you can't get the next tier rod unless you have the previous one? :P These could be adjusted to whatever will suit the site Bette, but I'm just throwing it out there ^3^

Adding onto Tina's idea: Maybe you could have a chance of getting a legendary, like Kyogre with the Super Rod. Kind of like with Celebi at the Honey Tree. Anyways, I support this.
