My first pokemon that I hatched was a Starly ^^ Second was my beautiful little Mew. I'm still waiting and waiting on my starter to finally hatch though. (:

My first Pokémon hatched was Igglybuff, because it had less EHP than my starter, a Mudkip which hatched a few minutes ago. (female, when I want my starter to be male u.u)

Your Starter Pokémon is your Partner. It is meant to work with you side by side. Would you unscrupulously just release such a partner?

(Long story short: No, you can't. It will always stay with you.)

You still have the possibility to adopt the other starter pokémon from Prof. Rowan. Keep visiting the lab.
