"Hey I told you to stop! That means stop." Kat looked over, and
heard a couple voices yelling at each other. He saw a woman, and a
man arguing. The boy shook his head, and walked past the arguing
group.
Humans are stupid...they always need to fight...can't they ever
get along he growled, and thought to himself. He looked up as
he saw some of the humans running past, and heading to their
respective buildings for work. He shook his head, and continued
through the town.
Kanti yawned, looking out the window of a coffee shop. She took a
sip of her latte. While she found most human food to be disgusting,
she had always been okay with coffee.
She adjusted her shirt and glanced at all of the people around. It
was always hard, now, to discern people from hunter. She could be
surrounded by the enemy, or allies.
Kat shook his head clear, and heard his stomach grumble. He sighed,
and decided to go into the coffee shop for a donut, which was one
of the few human foods he liked. As he walked toward the shop; he
walked past the window, and looked around cautiously. He played
with the collar around his neck, and sighed.
Kat walked into the shop, and got a hot chocolate, and a donut. He
didn't like coffee much, but the chilly air outside made him want
something warm. He then sat down in a seat near Kanti, and
scratched his neck under the collar.
Kanti looked over and took a sip of the latte only to find the cup
empty. She blinked, not realizing she had drank it so quickly, and
turned to Kat. "Um, hi. That's an interesting collar you have."
"Huh wha-?" Kat said in confusion at first. He wasn't sure why
anyone would talk to him. He noticed Kanti "oh thanks" he said in a
light tone. He sounded as if he hadn't talked in a while.
"Uh they don't..." Kat said cautiously "my brother gave it to me a
long time ago before he died" he sighed, and remembered the two
humans who use to take care of him.
"Kanti," She raised her hand, offering to shake. The concept was
weird to her, shaking hands (she had a hard enough time getting
used to thumbs), but she saw other humans do it and figured it was
considered normal. "Nice to meet you!"
Kat looked at the hand in slight confusion. Though he was raised by
humans, he never seen what they did when they greeted each other.
He awkwardly shook her hand, and sighed "err sorry it's been a bit
since I've been in a town..." he said cautiously.
Kanti snickered. "You look as though you've never done it before,"
She said, amused, but was now wondering if he hadn't shaken
hands before. "Eh, it's alright though. Probably don't meet many
new people, right? I know I don't."
To test something out, she finally revealed the bear necklace and
felt it.
Kat nodded in agreement, and sighed softly. "No I don't meet many
hum-err people where I go..." he mumbled he then looked at the
necklace "nice necklace...what does the bear mean?" he asked
kindly.
"It used to symbolize strength and healing," She explained. "No
bears around anymore, hm? It's a shame, really... Although not a
lot of others share my opinion."
Kat looked at Kanti cautiously "you think there might be more bears
out there?" he whispered cautiously hoping no one with the black
clothes could hear him. "The government killed them off with the
other predator animals though..." he said cautiously.
"Pfft. I don't buy that," She rolled her eyes, though she spoke
quietly now. "I think there are more bears. And wolves. And eagles.
And... Whatever else. Nothing is gone."
Kat nodded, he then looked over as he saw a few people in black
from his past. "We have to go" he said lowly, and got to his feet.
He nodded stiffly to the two strangers. Those guys will look for
people talking about the hunters...I don't plan on allowing an
innocent human, or what she is...to get hurt he thought
sharply.
