Spark moved her foot and stepped on the man's back to make sure he remained on the ground, and her head swiveled so her intense blue eyes would stare at the intruder. Pixie. "If this man is taken in by the police he will not face the appropriate penalties for his crime. He has taken a life, and when questioned denies his charge. I know what his appointed lawyer will do. They'll plead insanity, and then guess what. He gets off with a short jail sentence. Then guess what... He'll be back on the streets doing just the same thing again. Criminals don't learn. If they did they wouldn't be criminals in the first place. In this country crime does pay since the jails take very good care of the prisoners. Sure, the living conditions aren't the most fun, but they get three square meals a day, clean clothes, and access to showers. All of it paid for by law abiding citizens." The man beneath her boot squirmed, and she only pressed a bit harder and that stilled his struggle, Spark's gaze not leaving the form of Pixie. Sure they worked fine earlier, but this was a bit different.

"I realize that. But it isn't up to us to kill. There," Pixie said, pointing to a camera above them. "That shows how in control he was. She suffered. Badly. He'll hopefully be killed. It isn't the best solution, I admit. But killing him won't bring her back. Killing him puts blood on your hands." Stepping forward, Pixie offered her hand. "He is scum. He is crual and deserves death. But she deserves justice and her family should get to know what happened. Her family should get to face him and condemn him for his crimes."

Spark glanced up to the camera before looking back to Pixie and shaking her head. "I don't know what happened earlier in your life to give you such a perfect idea of how the world works... Let me clarify it for you. The world sucks. It's not a nice place. Things like this happen every day, and not by people who made a mistake or one bad choice, but by people who choose to do this. Criminals need to live in fear, while the families of those who were hurt need to have hope that the criminals will be punished. That's what I do. I provide that fear and the end game for these things that call themselves humans... Whether the families find satisfaction in the end result is up to them. My job is done, and I've not only removed a threat from the streets, but hopefully deterred another would-be murderer from committing a crime." Her fists, that were clenched by her sides, sparked with electricity. "Now let me do my job..."

"I don't know who hurt you or why but you aren't alone in that. I know what goes on in their sick little minds. Attacking kids because they are small and defenseless. Teaching them that being abused and beat up is normal and okay. It's not. But we are better. That's how we stay above them. By not killing for sport. Isn't it kind of easy? Little bit of pain after a lifetime of hurting others? Put him in a jail cell and they attack each other. They torture and torment each other for a lifetime because they have nothing and no one else to attack," Roxy tried again. "You don't have to kill him. Please, don't."

Spark shook her head again. "The guards are paid to keep the inmates from fighting among themselves. At least when I end them I know for a fact that they won't end up on the streets again, plus, I don't make it painless... I'm sure you'd be surprised how much of a charge the human body can take before it starts to cook..." She had done just that. She'd seen it first hand. She had killed someone by zapping them with enough of a charge to cook their flesh. It wasn't a very quick death, and it was very painful.

"That lasts what? A handful of minutes? Hour at best? They've had years of tormenting and torturing people. The guards aren't everywhere. They aren't in the cells at night nor in the showers. They assault each other then. Spark, please, don't kill him. Make him suffer? Sure. But don't kill him yet," Roxie pleaded. She stepped even closer, taking precautions by shapeshifting herself to withstand being shocked if it came to that.

"You don't understand! Prison is a place for people like him to learn how to get better at what they do! Not all of them hate one another, some even group together in gangs and share their information and talk about how to do things better next time. Not all of them want to change." Spark shocked the man once more to make sure he'd remain on the ground as she stepped off of him to face Pixie since she was coming closer. "Besides, this city doesn't have a death penalty... Only a few rare places in the south have it anymore... He'll spend the rest of his life in prison living off the taxpayers dime, and he'll probably be let out for good behavior."

"I didn't say it was perfect. But killing him isn't all right either. Can't we find middle ground? Isn't there a way to solve this? Please, Spark. Please don't go there. We can find a solution that will work. It might be hard but it'll keep the police off your back. They see no difference. To them, murder is murder. But you are a good person. Just with a different opinion on punishment. I agree. They get off too easy. But we can change that. By making a difference until the public will listen to our ideas and make laws to change it. But they won't see it that way if the story isn't told," Pixie told her. "Take an arm, take a leg, but don't kill him. Make it so he can't keep hurting others."

From the shadows, someone watched them. Just enough use of their power to keep the two from noticing.

Spark turned to the man and glared down at him. "I suppose there is one way..." She used her foot to roll him onto his back, and as he struggled she pinned down his arms with her knees and placed her hands on either side of his head. Her fingers sparked with electricity and he wailed loudly before falling silent and unconscious. She then stood up letting him fall. "I basically just gave him a stroke and I might have destroyed a couple of pathways in his brain as a side effect... I doubt he'll have the ability to move around enough to kill anyone again..." She turned to Pixie, her eyes expressing her anger perfectly. "Good enough?" The manner in which she stared and spoke were both a challenge. She knew that what she did wasn't what Pixie had in mind, but it did what Spark intended. It would keep him from killing someone else.

Pixie sighed, nodding. "Yes. Strokes can change personalities. You might actually have changed him for the better. Tax payers will most likely still have to pay for his medicine, perhaps his treatment. But he'll still be responsible for his actions. He'll still go to jail. He'll still have to suffer." Giving her a small smile, she reached out her hand. "Let's go. Let's leave here and send the police."

"You destroyed one of my favorite henchmen," an unassuming man asked, his face still covered in shadow as he stepped closer. "Do you know how hard it is to get them trained just right? And you, with all your silly, stupid ideas of changing things. Stupid little kids playing at things you don't understand." Reaching out with his other powers, he yanked Spark's hood down. "Let's see what you look like. I know about that one."

Spark smiled slightly under her bandanna and was reaching out her hand when she instantly pulled it back hearing the man's voice. As her hood was pulled down she instinctively reached to hold up her bandanna, her short black hair standing up at odd angles due to the static. "So you're the one behind all of this..." Her blue eyes seemed to be almost lit up and glowing, but in actuality it was the light above them that had gotten brighter. "So who are you?" She stood her ground, even as she struggled to figure out how her hood was pulled down.

Roxy growled, moving to stand in front of Spark. But the man pulled her aside, keeping both girls firmly where he wanted them.

"Nah, uh, uh," he purred, becoming much more feminine. "What good would it do if I can't see her pretty little face. Now for the bandana, sweet." Another flare of her power and the bandana was down on the ground.

Roxy's eyes widened but she kept her wits about her. Her girlfriends life very well depended on it.

Elvira struggled and strained against the forces that kept them still. "Knowing what I look like is one thing, knowing who I am is another," She was both frightened and angry, but she knew not to show fear. Ever. That's when they know they've won. She just let her anger take over and flood her mind. She did keep her voice changer running since that could be an identifying feature. "So now that you've seen me, let me see you."

The strange figure laughed, shaking her head. "Oh no, honey. That just won't do. Not yet. You just might leave that pretty little blonde of yours. What's her name? Rosy? Ronda? Oh, no. Roxy! Wouldn't want you breaking up with her to chase me, now would we?" Her demeanor changed again, turning masculine. "Now, I am going to be nice. Give you every chance I can. You both need to go and stop this. I could be all cliche and say you need to join me, but that isn't necessary. So long as you stay out of my business, we have no problem."

Roxy scowled, wanting to lash out. "You've warned us. We'll be on our way now," she said, making her mind blank. "No trouble, see?"

Instantly Elvira pictured Roxy and she lost it. "You leave her alone! She's innocent to any and all of this! I swear, if you touch her I will hunt you down to the ends of the Earth and beyond!" She strained with all of her might to break free from her invisible bonds, the lights above and around them flickered and some even blew out from the loss of control. Her fists and hair buzzed with small white arcs of electricity, her hair looked alive the way it moved. He, she, it had threatened the one thing that Elvira had as an anchor, the one person she didn't want to leave.

Roxy was happy to hear herself be defended but this person wouldn't be killing her. She had that part covered. "Spark, no one will be hurting her. I need you to do me a favor. Please tell our buddy that we're good. He has put the fear of god in us and we'll be leaving," she said softly.

He chuckled, smirking. "Innocent? You are naive. Poor, blind girl. You have fun with that. Maybe I was wrong. Clearly you are no threat. But I'll see you around. Just stay out of my way." With that, he turned to melt back into the shadows.

Once she could move Elvira stood there still for a moment staring at the spot the person left before she fell to her knees, her arms quivering as they held her up. "H-how did they know about Roxy? How'd they know w-we're dating?" Her breath was stuttering almost as much as she was shaking.

Gently, Pixie knelt beside her, drawing Spark close. "Shhh...it's okay. He won't touch her. He can't do any lasting, physical harm. Can you look at me? Please?" She asked, her hands on Sparks shoulders. "He's got powers. Telekinises at the very least. Obviously more if he knows that name."

Elvira lifted her gaze from the ground and looked up at Pixie, her eyes laced with tears, though they did not fall. "How can I keep Roxy safe from someone with that much power?" She was still shaking and when she blinked a pair of tears ran lines of wet down her face. Her hair had calmed and her bright eyes were full of worry.

"I should have told you earlier. But I was afraid. I still am but I'm more worried about you, El," Roxy whispered, cupping Elvira's face before leaning in and kissing her, changing her features back to her normal blonde hair and violet eyes.
